I'm a born and raised Texas girl and am the multiple award-winning author of The Brides on the Run series--a fun, sexy, snarky, laugh-out-loud good time. If you don’t snort with laughter, then I haven’t done my job.
I'm also a wife, mother, and an actress/comedian. I used to think I could sing until someone paid me to stop. I took their money and kept on singing.
I love my family, all things Outlander, and puppies make me stupid happy. I can be found on Sundays during football season watching my beloved Houston Texans and trying not to let them break my heart.

I’ve read and loved every book in this series, so it’s no surprise that I enjoyed this one as much as I did.
Just like the other books, this one was full of humor, sass, the perfect amount of steam, and plenty of heart. I smiled, I laughed, and I swooned hard over how sweet and loving and understanding Will was.
With this being a novella and a pretty quick read, it still gave me everything I needed to fall in love with the story and its characters.
Have you read the Brides on the Run series? If so, you should totally read this one. If you haven’t, this would be a great one to start with!
The story went by in a flash of angst and silliness as Paige tried everything to protect Will and her new life from the family that nearly destroyed her old one. But Will’s not the type to let the love of his life face any kind of danger on her own, and it became a bit of a comedy of errors as they tried to protect one another. That was so very much fun, I just wish there was more of it. Not that the book was missing anything, I just loved Paige and Will so much I’m not ready to let go of them just yet.
Paige is set to marry Will when her con artist family show up the night before. Can she get them to go back to where they've been hiding or is her new life doomed? I love how Jami writes, with hilarity and emotion. Her characters are steady and strong and know exactly what they want! Here's to the next book!
Jami Albright’s books have been intriguing me for years, so when she reached out and asked me to read this one, I was on board! I discovered an author that I’ve intended to read for so long is a very sweet soul and a darn good writer, too!
It looks like this is a novella within the Runaway Brides series which has been around for a few years, but Albright is rebranding and re-releasing so keep watch for an updated look coming your way very soon!!
The theme of the series is runaway brides - this little taste (it’s a quick one, about 88 pages), about Paige, who managed to escape her grifter, con artist family a decade ago, but her clueless District Attorney fiancé Will managed to track down an invited to the wedding festivities…. Needless to say, she’s headed out the door (and town) before they can cause damage to the man she loves.
A short but sweet taste of the series and I’m looking forward to more - there’s a preview of book 1 at the end and if got me hooked and ready to read! Turns out it’s already in my library (it’s KU, anyway), so I’m good to start Running Out on the Rockstar next. Definitely pick up Running Out on the One now - a re-release of There Goes the Bride.
I received an advance copy from the author and this is my honest feedback.
I've read my fair share of runaway bride romances, but I can honestly say that I've never read one quite like this. This is an original, quick read that had me laughing and almost tearing up too.
When I started this book, I really thought that it was going to be a totally light read, but the story did take a bit heavier turn mid-way through. Nothing overly angsty or dramatic, just a feel good moment that nearly had my eyes watering.
Paige has a past that she's not proud of, but she's changed her life and is ready to marry the man of her dreams. When her past comes back to haunt her just before her wedding day, she does the only thing that she can to protect Will...she makes a run for it. Will isn't ready to give up on the woman that he loves though and he's determined to get her back to the altar.
This is a mostly fun read with some ridiculous LOL moments. If you're looking for lighter read that you could easily read in one or two sittings, then this is one that you'll definitely want to pick up.
I loved this opposites attract runaway bride romance. The novella had the perfect balance of humor, love, real life issues, and spice. Will is the DA of Blister County and he is calm, settled and madly in love with Paige. Paige is a vivacious and happy SW who helps women and lives a law abiding drama free life. Unfortunately, Paige’s criminal family, who she escaped from a decade ago, shows up on the eve of her wedding to Will. Knowing the consequences and pain they bring with them, she knows she has to run to protect Will. Despite being short, the novella was well written, the characters had depth and the storyline is engaging. I loved the Brides on the Run series.
3 stars This is a quick read. Will and Paige. She’s everything he’s ever wanted. He’s everything she’s ever wanted. He doesn’t know her bleak and illegal past. He doesn’t know her con artist family. They meet her family at the rehearsal dinner. Will invited them, not knowing their truth. Hijinks ensue. She runs away from him. Then gets her spine in order and comes back. Meanwhile, Will confronts the family and threatens FBI action if they don’t leave Paige’s life forever. It’s not the quality and hilarity of Running From a Rockstar. But was cute enough.

Will and Paige are having a rehearsal dinner, and to Paige’s horror her family shows up. She ran away from them ten years ago. She feels to save Will, and his family she needs to run. Can Will convince her to marry him? Great characters and storyline Highly recommended Amazing book. I love Will and Paige and their dynamic. This story is short, sweet, sassy, sarcastic, and sexy. I love Jami’s stories.
I read all of the Brides on the Run series this week, and enjoyed them all. Scarlett and Gavin were a hoot; Jack and Louanne had some tear-jerker moments (whatever happened with June and Paula???). Hank and Charlie, well, I wanted to give Hank a good shake at times (as well as kick his brothers, especially Derek). Beau and Hailey had to grow up, but Lottie was the real star! Will and Paige, wasn't sure that would work out.
Like a cool drink on a hot day, this novella was the refreshing read I needed.
Will and Paige's story is well paced with enough angst and action to keep you reading "just one more chapter". Throughout their story you can feel the love they have for each other which makes Paige's plans even more heartbreaking.
This is a wonderful quick read from Jami Albright .
This short story is a delight! true love means really trusting your one and only, even when there are a mountain of secrets spilling out around you right before the wedding! Marked by trademark humor, this is a wonderful beginning to the Brides on the Run series.
Running Out on the One, Brides on the run book five by Jami Albright. This story is a fun change from what I’ve been reading lately. I read some of the others in this series quite a while ago. When I saw this one I knew it was the change I needed right now. Great , fun story! Great storyline! Great book in a fun series!
Cute quick read. I loved that Paige escaped a life she didn’t want and worked hard to make a positive impact in the lives of others. Will and Paige were great characters that I liked immediately! My favorite scene is the one in the airport…heartfelt touching moment.
Nobody writes a small town romcom runaway bride like Jami! The love, the chemistry, the obstacles they have to overcome, just so much fun! The joy I felt in reading this quick love story was overwhelming and perfect! Five stars again, love it! See y’all on another page!
Short read about an established relationship and a well suited couple. Add in a horrible con family and the fall out from trying to do the right thing. Okay read.
This novella is hilarious. Absolutely laugh out loud, wet your pants funny. I always love Jami Albright and going back to Zachsville, TX. Don’t miss this one!
Rapid fire short story with a lot of baggage resolved in very few pages. Will is a man who's dependable and willing to call in every favor owed him to get Paige to the altar.
This is a cute and short read and the moral of the story WAS THERE IS NO POINT IN RUNNING AWAYA FROM OUR FEARS...NO MATTER HOW FAR YOU RUN ONE DAY YOU HAVE TO FACE THEM..SO INSTEAD OF RUNNING AWAY FROM THEM WE HAVE TO FACE THEM WITH CONFIDENCE AND WE WILL SUCCED IN OVERCOMING THEM FOR SURE ONE DAY...
