8 books186 followersCJ Daly grew up on the scrabbly plains of Eastern New Mexico. When she was supposed to be helping her six siblings with chores on the family ranch, she was really sneaking behind dusty haystacks to read. And dreaming about becoming a writer.
After graduating high school, CJ moved to Big D (Dallas), where she quickly put herself through college while trying to rid herself of her country accent. She had better luck with college, graduating cum laude with a degree in English literature. After teaching a few years, and pausing to have back-to-back boys, she began writing in earnest.
A few years later, "The Academy Saga" was born. "The Academy" is her debut novel, and "The Academy, Cadet-in-Training" is the sequel.

In this new part of the series (can you believe we are on book 6!) Spies, Lies, & Allies, C.J. Daly delivers exactly what we love, including some umm sessy memories bang right from the get go lol The suspenseful plot has everything including love, betrayal, and a daring rescue mission. Our boys seem to be holding on to their usual faults, and I am hoping that decisions will soon be made especially with the little one involved. Some of the situations real and hallucinations were really vivid, a whole new way of seeing the world they really live in, with The Academy, but I feel bad for Reese the most! Can't wait for the next book and will happily be adding this to my bookshelf :)

Here we go again!! This series never ceases to amaze me. I am forever pulled in and captivated by these characters and storyline. I can hardly believe this is book six!!
Spies, Lies & Allies comes at you from every direction. As always I thoroughly enjoyed all the action. Hello! There's a flamethrower!!
One of my biggest loves for this series is the multiple POVs. I love the fact we get to see Ranger, Pete and Kate's perspectives.
I am happy to report the cliffhanger didn't make me want to throw my book this time, haha! For once I think I have a pretty good idea of what's going to happen. And if my prediction is correct, we're in for more heartbreak! Could we really expect anything less?
If you're thinking about starting The Academy Saga, start with book one. This isn't a series you can go into halfway through. Trust me, it's absolutely worth reading them in order!! This has been a solid 5 star series for me the entire way through.
My thanks to CJ Daly for the gifted copy! I can't wait to see what's in store for us in book VII.

Another Roller Coaster Ride
I swear I think this roller coaster ride can't get me any more emotional than I read the next installment and BOOM- my emotions are all over the place. From beginning to end of this story my emotions are taken for another ride. In each book these characters drive me crazy but I absolutely can't get enough. Already counting down for the next ride to start.

Let me tell you, I was practically bouncing off the walls waiting for Book VI to drop. And when it finally did, it was worth every second of the anticipation!
From the get go, I was sucked right back into the world I've been obsessing over since book one. I mean, there were moments where I legit had to remind myself to take a breath! 😅
I really love how CJ keeps deepening the bonds between the characters (I am Team Peter BTW). It's like catching up with old friends, except these friends are dodging danger left and right. And those curveballs she throws in? They totally keep me on my toes, man! 😂
The Academy Saga isn't just a book series, it's an addiction. I'm talking staying up all night, desperate to find out what happens next.
So, if you're already part of The Academy Saga squad, do yourself a favor and snag a copy of Book VI. And if you haven't jumped on the bandwagon yet, what are you waiting for? Trust me, you'll be hooked from page one. Five stars – scratch that – a million stars, from this die hard fan!

Book 6 in an intense spy saga full of intrigue, danger, romance, and more. This is probably my most “out of the normal” series that I read because I hate love triangles and here I am finishing book 6 of a love triangle saga. It’s been a long road that’s not over yet. We’ve laughed and cried and lived in horror. This book especially was not for the faint of heart. We sit with Pete during his torture scenes in Russia. There is so much more, but, spoilers! So, suffice it to say there is a lot of pain in this book. We continue to war with our emotions and with our heroes. We are blindsided. We choose sides. We speculate. Aaaaand, we sorely wish that we hadn’t discovered this series until the full series was complete so we could just binge it all right now! 😉 There is a thread of faith, and a strong thread of family. There is some steam and swearing and violence. This is a series that must be read from book 1 on, in order.

CJ's new book is awesome! Right off the bat, it grabs you with this cool story that's full of mystery and excitement. You've got Ranger getting tangled up in some wild stuff, created by Kate. Crazy!
It's the characters that really make this series shine. Ranger's emotions (or lack of) had me hooked, and his run ins with Slater? Man, they had me on the edge of my seat!
CJ keeps you guessing with surprises around every corner. Just when you think you've got it figured out, she throws in a plot twist that'll leave you like, "Whoa!"
And the places they visit? CJ paints such a clear picture, you'll feel like you're right there with them.
In a nutshell, this book is a real winner! If you're into adventures and mysteries, do yourself a favor and star reading The Academy saga. Trust me, you won't regret it!

I just finished Book VI, and I loved every second of it. This book took everything I love about the series and turned it up a notch.
I know a lot of my fellow fans won't agree, but Kate is a strong and relatable character, and what she has to deal with in this book is intense. The stakes are higher, the twists are crazier, and the love triangle with Ranger and Pete continues (including some pretty iffy moments).
I have been a fan of her writing for a while and the pacing is perfect, with non stop action balanced by some touching parts (the support after the surgeries omg this tugged at me) and of course the HOT moments. I felt like I was right there with them, experiencing everything even from the first pages *ish gets real!
If you're a fan of The Academy Saga series, you’ll absolutely love this one.

What did I just read?! There’s so much to unpack in each and every book, I almost don’t know where to start. I have been hoping for an HEA for Kate and Pete since Book 1, and I thought I was finally going to get it, but now I’m not so sure. I also like Ranger, but am glad the love triangle seems to be over. It seems like a whole new chapter is starting in Kate’s book, but I have a feeling that Ranger will still play an important rule. There was some conspiracy theory shoved in, I like that there is more here than just a love story but I think there are still more secrets to come. Hopefully, everything will finally come together in this next book, although I’m not sure I’m reading for an ending yet. It still too good.

Book 6 was maybe one of my favorite of the series. Everything is complicated as usual but maybe the most complicated thing is Katie-kat’s feelings for Ranger and Pete. I usually don’t like love triangles, but in this case, I can see why she’s so torn. In the end she makes a decision (the only one she can considering Ranger’s cheating). I was kinda hoping she would take Ranger up on his offer, but I guess it would have been a different outcome then. I have a feeling their story isn’t over yet, and I can’t wait to see what happens next!

Again, it feels so weird to write my own review (because y'all do it so much better), but I will say that I think the series continues to get better, deeper, and richer, with plenty more surprises in store. Like real life, there's been a lot of changes and transitions at The Academy. Because I hate to ruin the journey for anyone, I'll just simply say that the next book continues right where this one leaves off . . . which means most of you will be able to see which way the wind is blowing. But in Academy Saga world, the wind can easily transform into a storm in the blink of an eye. Thanks so much for being part of this journey with me. I can't wait for you to see what happens next!!!!!!!

Our girl KK continues to shine and make a few good and a few ridiculous decisions as always. It is packed with intense moments that kept me glued to the pages. Of course I have been a die hard fan since the start including being #teamranger from the start even though some people don't get that. I get it that he does a lot of damage to KK but IMO it is because he is damaged especially with his dad and he how he was brought up :( I think I know how this is going to go and just hope at least one person gets a HEA but so far, on par for CJ, things could change up at any time and I am here to stay on this ride to the end!!!

Wow! What an actual whirlwind of emotions! Im not good at reviews so I won't waste your time trying to write a good one, I'll just say that this book was amazing! The emotional rollercoaster I went on, Insane!! I am a Pete stan, but I gotta say I actually feel for Ranger. I don't think things will stay the way they are now, no matter what Pete and Kate think. I see a flip flop coming in the future relationship wise!
Maybe even Reese coming back and shaking things up, possibly having been brainwashed before returning to the Academy! Looking forward to the next installment either way! Love this series and this Author!!

Just finished binging another of my favorite academy saga books. I’m left reeling and with another book hangover. I was very engrossed in the story it was exciting, sad, and steamy all at the same time. I am a Ranger fan, so I was a little devastated by how it ended for him. But Pete I felt bad for too. How could you not? I think I know what’s coming next after that ending, but CJ always finds a way to surprise and keep me hungry for more academy drama. Love this series so much but ready for a HEA for these characters I’m way too invested in.

Whenever I crack open a new Academy Saga book, it's like getting on an emotional rollercoaster. This series just knows how to grab hold of me and not let go, from beginning to end. I just finished Book 6, and I hope the author keeps this series going! Book VI is even better than book V (how is that even possible?!)
Please keep writing these amazing books. Who needs closure when you're on a crazy ride like this, am I right?

It always takes me a long time to recover from these books. This one might be the best one although I say that every time. I thought I was ready for Katie, Pete & Ranger to finally get their HEA's but now I think I can see where the author is going. Even if I'm wrong I know I will still love the journey. The writing is intense as ever and I already can't wait for the next one!
