The #1 best-selling and most prolific post-apocalyptic author - with over 3.5 million books sold - Mike Kraus is back, writing with Paula Lester to bring you a tale of survival and courage in the face of overwhelming odds.
A massive storm bears down on Texas, unleashing tornadoes and hurricane force winds that level entire buildings, including a food processing plant that is unknowingly storing a large quantity of dimethlmercury - a devastingly dangerous neurotoxin.
As this toxin is swept into the atmosphere and spread across the country by the storm system, millions who are in its path die from exposure - but the worst is yet to come. Before the storms hit, the processing plant inadvertently shipped the mercury across the country, resulting in a contamination of processed foods unlike anything in history.
As the death toll rises astrononically across the country from both the toxic storms and poisoned food, any survivors are faced with a simple how can they possible survive?

Mike Kraus & Muonic Press are the #1 selling indie press publishing post-apocalyptic tales, for good reason. Since capturing audience’s attention with Final Dawn in 2012, Kraus has captivated and delighted his readers, both with his solo projects like Surviving the Fall and No Sanctuary, and with his co-authored projects with authors like Justin Bell, Stephanie Mylchreest, Stacey Upton, JJ Pike, Kenny Soward and others on titles such as Zero Hour, MELT and Weathering the Storm.
Yesterday's End Book 3, Unleashed by Paula Lester and Mike Kraus, continues the apocalyptic thriller, at a variety of locations, where survivors have endured conditions and a deadly, airborne virus. Preparations against marauders take place on the Waites' farm, as the authors shows the family working together, to overcome the odds. Jed Waite must use his ingenuity to get himself and his companions out of Las Vegas, heading through dangerous territory as best they can, towards homes and loved ones. Who survives and what they'll find waiting at their destinations, will be gradually revealed in Unleashed and the rest of this epic series...don't miss it!
More mayhem is Unleashed, Yesterday's Gone just gets better
Unleashed is the continuation of the excellent Yesterday's Gone series by Paula Lester & Mike Kraus. The stakes keep rising for the Waite homestead as former friends attack the farm, for Mike and Jane as one of their traveling companions becomes extremely ill and delirious and for Jed, Chris, Ernie and Evelyn survive a mudslide, leaving one of them with critical internal injuries. Somehow, the authors make the characters more and more believable and empathetic with each book, even each chapter. There's plenty of moral ambiguity with not all characters making good choices. I can't wait for book 4!!!
This continues a good series. The writing/editing was generally fairly good though a few minor issues (ex “We should all drink a bottle full,” Jed said). Jed and Chris finally make it out of Las Vegas; I wasn't sure they would and would hate to see how long it would take to get out of a city larger than Vegas. A lot happens on Jane and Mike's trip north and I like that it highlights how dangerous "ordinary" illness can become in the shadow of this disaster. Much excitement at Bea's farm and she and the kids are dealing well considering. I look forward to book 4.
Unfortunately the Waite farm is continually attacked. Friends are getting hurt. Complete chaos and definitely danger. How will this all end. Well written as always to make you feel a part of the action.
This was a really good story! I do like the characters which always helps, I think! Good actions, great ideas, good levels of tension! I really wanted this family to survive! Great feeling so involved in the story! I do recommend this & the previous 2 books in the series!
