“I wrote this book while reflecting on the beautiful and unexpected ways motherhood has changed my life. My hope is that children and adults who read this story will be inspired to think about the beauty that has come from their own changes and challenges. Embark of a captivating story with Wiggla who loves being a caterpillar. What could be better than eating, playing, exploring and best of all WIGGLING? Wiggla adores being a caterpillar.

But what happens when Wiggla’s friends tell her she will turn into a butterfly? Wiggla will have none of that even when her friends start spinning and becoming snuggled in cocoons.
This is such a clever story by Kelly Pacheo about every child’s challenge-fear of change.
Wiggla’s journey weaves its way through the beautifully bright colorful illustrations by Jared Salmond and straight into our hearts.
It will make your young one heart flutter as (s)he learns new facts about a caterpillar’s transformation into a beautiful butterfly.
Charming as a read aloud. As a teacher, I recommend this book with five VERY big stars. I wish I could give it ten.

Wiggla, the caterpillar who didn’t want to be a butterfly is a precious story with colorful illustrations. This story invites the reader think about how change is inevitable.

While Wiggla is destined to be a butterfly, the feelings of becoming something different can feel lonely. Wiggla learns she’s not alone.

The author offers discussion questions at the end of the story to challenge the reader to think about change in life and the feelings associated with change.

This is a good book that children of all ages can enjoy!

really cute story about change

I like the very cute illustrations and how happy Wiggla and her friends are to be with each other. The open ended questions at the end are a nice way for the kids to engage in discussion about changes in their lives.

Change can be wonderful!

Poor Wiggla doesn't like change, and wants to stay just the way she is! A wonderful story for children to learn that change can be a beautiful thing. We loved the gorgeous illustrations! A must read!
