This book is good in opinion for ELL students because it makes a connection globally and these students can think about their times at home with friends not just dog friends but friends at home, this books also lets children know that all over the world there are people are like them with dogs and having the same experiences as they are.

I think my first best friend was my first dog. She was such a cute and fluffy Pomeranian and loved to play. I would like you share this book with my class so that we can learn more about each other's friends. We can list the different words on our word wall and draw pictures of our friends. This is a cute book displaying people from different cultures spending time with their dogs.

Love that it has real photographs of children with their dogs from all over the world. I would work on descriptive language. The children would describe the dogs and work on expanding their vocabulary. I would also brings other books of different dogs or photographs.

All of children dog's are their best friend. This would be a great conversation piece to have with children who is your best friend and why. What is the different between a friend and a best friend? We could draw pictures of or best friends.
