wasnt as funny or cute as previous volumes, it does feel like the mangaka is maybe running out of ideas? as far as im aware theres only 2 more volumes, the last one publishing in japan may last year, so idk if there will be anymore? would be sad but also i think theres only so many stories you can do where the villagers are sadly kind of the same (the different types) was always good to see diana even if her chapter was really short and she seemed kind of out of character? she would never put her trash in furniture! and was lovely to see jingle, though he seems more sassy in the manga than in the game which made me laugh haha.
First the positives - It was nice to see the characters celebrate Toy Day along with the appearance of Jingle. I also love how there was a story that included the author's AC character meeting the characters of the novel. A super fun idea!
Now the negative - there was some fatphobia. I had to take a step back and reread to make sure I read it correctly. During a Happy Home Paradise build for the villager Baabara, two of the MCs make 2 fatphobic remarks. It's not graphic, but I definitely wouldn't expect it in this manga which I consider a feel-good read. Another thing! Baabara is a sheep villager but she's not even much larger than the characters, so it doesn't even make sense!?! Anyway, the two panels could've been removed and the story would have been the same.
I'm only docking it half a star since it's literally only two panels from the entire book, but I hope there is no future fatphobia in future volumes.
Another enjoyable read, will be sad to have this series finish!
More islanders looking for their perfect homes. I like the way the illustrations pick up on emotions, the scenes can be funny and once again, there are new to me villagers such as Nibbles, Hazel, Blanche and Hugh. I haven't met them yet!
This one has a mini Christmas theme which was nice to see.
I seriously cannot get enough of the crazy shenanigans from this series! Plus I enjoy seeing all of the animal villagers' personalities--even the NPCs like Jingle. These stories keep getting more and more entertaining with every volume.
