People hate my type of magic. They consider a lot of us psychics frauds, or fake witches.
For Arlo, however, his magic might just be hated even more. He’s my classmate at the prestigious Dreadmor Academy.
He’s also noticeably a werewolf, from the stark yellow eyes, to the full moon transformations. He’s a dangerous combination, and it might be best for me to stay away…
Except I don’t wish to. We might be able to achieve great things together, with our magic.
With each other…
Author's This is a steamy stand alone romance intended for 18+
Lisa Daniels is a (young) retired school teacher who resides in Miami. After five years of teaching, Lisa Daniels found that it wasn’t quite the world that she wanted to inhabit. After leaving her position, she moved to Miami. She hasn’t regretted it.
In her worlds, Lisa Daniels creates characters that go beyond the usual narrative. While they definitively include romance, Lisa Daniels strives to make the worlds more real with characters that are more than just cardboard cutouts of the genre. All of the main characters (and many of the secondary ones) have a rich history that span much longer than the stories themselves. This makes it easy to weave the stories together so that you can see characters you met in previous tales and see how they have managed since.
The Dragons of Letera is her first standalone series. Letera is a world teaming with romance, action, and stories – it is a world that Lisa Daniels loves to explore with her readers, one character at a time.

The Witch the Wolf de Lisa Daniels serie Dreadmor Dark Academy libro 1
Argumento:
This book was a quick and engaging read, with a smooth-flowing narrative that draws readers in from the start. Holly and Arlo are both charming characters, making it easy to root for them throughout their journey. Once again, Lisa Daniels has delivered an outstanding book that will delight her readers.
The story is filled with dangerous spirits and plenty of romance, leaving readers hopeful for a happily ever after. While I enjoyed the academy setting and the slow burn of the romance between Holly and Arlo, I couldn't help but wish for a bit more worldbuilding. While the descriptions were vivid and well-done, I felt that a deeper exploration of the world would have added even more depth to the story.
Nevertheless, the combination of action, suspense, and mystery kept me thoroughly entertained. As the characters use their unique "gifts" to solve the mystery at hand, the plot unfolds with excitement and intrigue.
Overall, this was a satisfying story with a well-rounded conclusion. However, there are still lingering questions and unresolved threads that leave room for future adventures. Holly and Arlo make for compelling protagonists, and I am eagerly anticipating their next adventure. With its captivating storyline and lovable characters, I have no doubt that the next book will be just as enthralling as this one.

Arlo Sixclaws is a werewolf and a necromancer and he chose to go to Dreadmor Academy instead of Archon, where his mother wanted him to go. There is some crazy stuff happening in his family. I felt really bad at what he is going through just because of his powers. So he gets to the school, and he meets Holly in his first class, which is Magical Theory with Professor Z'Hana. We also get to meet some of the characters from the Summer Class, which were fun. Holly is a medium. So their powers will be taught together since they don't have either of those powers in the professors or upperclassmen, but a necromancer is there for a little while in a nearby town due to a death. They get some practice and learning about their powers was amazing. I was fascinated and found out a lot more than was in the Summer Class series. Arlo and Holly are drawn to each other and their families reaction to the other person is hilarious. I laughed or giggled a lot while reading the book and there were a few scary parts and some steamy parts too. I can't wait to read the next book.

I have gotten out of the habit of reading many academy romance titles with more midlife magic options available to read as I've reached midlife myself
but this book is really something more
the medium and the necromancer both come from very different backgrounds, with personal and family baggage
it is interesting to encounter Dreadmor Academy as a place that fosters their unusual talents, and interesting to see them in their journeys of discovery and learning
more than just some hot young chick and hot young man getting acquainted
a bit of steamy stuff, yet layered in with more complex issues and challenges
some intriguing reading with personal, magical and political questions raised and some bit of steamy stuff that a gal my age can chuckle with fond remembrances of first romance, as well as enjoying the characters and complexities
This novella was a quick read that included mystery, drama and spice. Our MMC, Arlo, is a werewolf shifter with necromancy magic. He has gone against his family’s legacy to attend this academy. He ends up paired with Holly, our FMC, a medium, who is very privileged to attend this school. They come across a mystery while off school grounds that entangles them more together. They quickly find they have feelings for each other and a spicy scene does ensue. It is a bit juvenile in writing but not bad. The story seems to wrap up, but leaves enough open for future books to be written. This would be a great short read for those that want a bit of mystery in their story, but be prepared for a bit of juvenile writing, which is why I want to give it 3.5 stars.

I liked this academy story. Both Holly and Arlo are likeable character. The flow was good. Slow burn to the romance. I think I would have liked a little bit more worldbuilding. The descriptions were good, I just would have liked more. Action and suspense, along with a mystery to solve using their "gifts" was fun to read. All in all it was a good story. It will be interesting to see what their next adventure leads them to. For the most part the mystery was "solved", but there is still more to the story and more questions to be answered.

Holly is eager to discover the nature of her "gift". She can communicate with the dead and needs guidance to help her master it. During her initial lesson at Dreadmor, Arlo, who has transformed into a wolf, sits alongside her. Arlo hopes his appearance will deter others, but Holly isn't intimidated. This story has dangerous spirits and plenty of romance, ending with, hopefully, a HEA. Very highly recommended.

Arlo is a wolf shifter/necromancer and Holly is a witch/medium. These two met while attending the Dreadmor Academy and I loved how their first meet went. This is a slow burn, shifter romance with interesting characters, and an intriguing storyline filled with magic, mystery, suspense, danger, romance, and a great ending. The Witch and The Wolf is book one and a great start to the Dreadmor Academy series. I look forward to reading the rest of this series. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.
The Witch & the Wolf is book one in the series Dreadmor Dark Academy by author Lisa Daniels. This is fast paced read that holds a lot of appeal. Firstly there’s some family strife on me characters part- a new school - new friends (with a special development) and a 30 year old mystery. Even though it’s a cliffhanger doesn’t really bother. Enjoy!!
Arc review I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. At Dreadmor Academy arlo and holly's magic is helping to solve cases. this was very interesting to follow along . Fantastic.
This was fun. I like the little mystery. I kind of wish it was a bit longer so we could a better feel for the characters. But the romance is sweet and the seen like a pretty good couple.
I love paranormal, and this was a fun new one with wolfs & witch’s & more. It was fun, mysterious, and a sweet romance. A short read that will stick with you. I look forward to her next book
They connected with each other even thro there magic was totaly different from one another they worked together and started having feeling for each other.
The author has given us a heart pounding story that pulls us into the lives of Arlo, necromancer, and Holly, medium. The story keeps us turning the pages with found skeletons, tortured souls and connection.
