I don't even know why I bought this. Basically, I saw this woman on Dr. Phil and thought she was kinda amusing. The book was awkward and seemed to consist of three distinct narratives smooshed together.

The first narrative was her story. This was actually entertaining and if the book had only had this narrative, I might have given it three stars. She talks about her life, and about how she first started connecting with spirits through the ghost of her grandmother. The family stories were rich and heartfelt, and I would have loved to see her explore these in more detail. Unfortunately, they become fewer, and less developed as the book progresses.

The second narrative were these weird 'testimonials' that littered each chapter to emphasize a point being made in the main narrative. The testimonials made the book feel more like a sales pitch for a diet plan than an actual book about the spirit.

The third narrative consisted of her 'how to' guide. Frankly, this part of the book isn't even worth trying to read. It contained 'powerful' insights like 'trust yourself' and 'go with your gut'. Basically, in these parts she becomes every other self help writer on the market. I didn't buy the book for common sense advice. I bought the book to hear some creepy stories about dead people, and to try to see dead people myself.

I read this book because I do believe in spirits, angels, saints...God. I know I am not alone. I know I can do better. I care about being a good mother, a good grandmother, good relative and friend. This book allowed me to take inventory of what I do well and what I need to improve on.
No surprises...but what is very interesting to me is the exercises for meditation. This is hard for me but the most rewarding. Quieting my mind is no easy task. This book guides you to take a serious look at the pluses and minuses of your life. This is not a book to put on the shelf or give away...this little book has a powerful message. I am keeping it near me. I open it up to remind myself how to better meditate, to be clear in what I need to do, to believe...to get back
to the living.

I believe that you have to be ready for this book for it to help. I was searching for a book to improve my intuition when I found "Spirited". It turned out to be more than I asked for. (I mean that in a good way). Even though this is an easy read, it's the type of book that you take your time reading. I savored it over a couple of months. When I first started reading it, I had borrowed a copy from the library to read on my Kindle. I realized though, that I would need to own a hard copy to complete the exercises in the book. The written exercises help to identify the root of your issue(s). Even though I finished it, I will refer back to it, especially the reference section that includes guided meditations.

Rebecca Rosen is the real deal. Her gift has helped me move on after the loss of my father. I am grateful for her knowledge and encouragement. For a first book, I was absolutely blown away- definitely a must read.

The author is a medium and is able to communicate with spirits who have passed on. In working with her clients, she often helps them find peace by sharing messages that the departed want the living to know. Often, that message is that they are still with the living in spirit.
She also helps the reader increase their intuitive sense so that they can also receive guidance from the spirit world. She advocates meditation and gives instruction for different types of meditation. Very interesting book!

So good. She explained certain questions to spiritual questions I didn't even know I had - and I read a lot of spiritual material. For example, no one else has ever explained that usually we don't receive any wisdom or guidance while were meditating; rather, we meditate to receive this guidance later. It's like that quote, "do something your future self will thank you for." I read it in the time surrounding my grandpas death, and it served as reassuring validation that death is not the end. Thank you, rebecca, for this spectacular book.

Fascinating book about how to connect with the spirit world written by a local psychic. Though her story in itself is fascinating, Rosen's goal is to help readers hone their psychic powers: she includes meditation exercises (a primary way of connecting with spirit energy) as well as other techniques.

Spirited is very interesting and not as woo woo as one may assume. In fact, it's primary focus is practical measures for being more mindful, present, and self-aware. Basically, Rebecca Rosen warns us to deal with our "stuff" now because not even death will give you a reprieve from your issues. This is great advice whether you believe in an after life or not. Unaddressed negative thoughts and feelings will always come back to "haunt" you and Rebecca has a very personable and relatable manner of explaining how we can help ourselves identify and address those issues before they beget problems in life (this one or the next).

This book may have had some good information, but I could not get past the way it was written, throughout the book the author has a dialogue with an anonymous reader- "wait, I don't get it", or I hear you", etc. For some reason this annoyed the crap out of me and had me throwing the book down after only a couple pages. I found the only way I could get through it was to skim. Oh well.

A quick read, but it was just "okay." I'm still skeptical as to whether or not she's the "real-deal." It would have been more compelling with a different format. Including testimonials about her specific practice at the end of every chapter hindered the book's believability. It read more like a plug for her business.

This book changed everything for me. Written SO well and so easily digestible, Rebecca takes meditation a step further to allow us to connect with our spirit guides. I'm already giving it a try and it's so incredible that I've even made my skeptic husband a believer! I took this out of the library, but I'll be buying it so I always have a copy close by.

I am on a spiritual journey to connect to my intuition, spirit guides and angels. I found Rebecca Rosen listening to a podcast she was on and I was interested into what she was saying. This audiobook was quick, 6 hours, and read by the author. I loved all of her testimonies and personal story. It left me feeling that with meditation and quieting my mind, I too can connect to the other side.

Great read, very interesting. Always thought one was born with these special talents, not everyone could have these connections. I still need to put this to work. I am not reading Seven Cups of Consciousness by Aleya Dao and then will start experimenting.

As the author states, she didn't come up with these things. But, it was interesting to hear her put them together in her own way. The book drew upon the teachings from many sources.

HIGHLIGHTS:
1. Sometimes the most powerful and life-changing lessons and relationships are the painful ones.
- When we turn our backs on the opportunities for soul growth, the universe delivers us another chance to learn a lesson down the road.

2. Take inventory of your life name the thing that’s got you stuck. Identify the differences between healthy and tuxedo experiences in your life. Identify the differences between healthy and toxic people in your life. Learn how to use the power of creation to live the life you want.

3. We can’t lie to the universe. If you don’t believe it is going to show up, it won’t. Energy is energy, and we attract whatever energy was put out there.

4. If you go with the flow, meaning you face challenges head-on and with the intent to resolve them, you will spiritually grow and move ahead.

5. RESPONSIBILITY: When it comes to projecting positive energy, we can only be responsible for ourselves. We can only do our part and hope others will respond similarly.
- Taking responsibility is about acknowledging your choices and not blaming. We always have the power to choose how to respond to a situation.
- Once we forgive, our contribution to the struggle that has been holding us back, the universe provides us the opportunity to redo.
- New situations will come along where we can make better choices for ourselves and break the cycle of negativity.
- When we choose to acknowledge the lesson within our challenge, we take back our power and stop being a victim. Every hardship offers us an opportunity to spiritually grow if we allow it to.

6. NOW: Being present means fully embracing the right here, right now. When we stay focused on the now, our lives will unfold in perfect Time.
- When we can’t let go of our need to control, it’s nearly impossible to be in the now moment, and inevitably, we set ourselves up for disappointment.
- THOUGHTS: The important thing is to connect regularly until it becomes a habit. Our thoughts can work for us and make us stronger, or they can work against us and make us weaker.
- The moment you see your thoughts getting out of control, you have to learn to stop and tell yourself I’m not going to play this movie anymore.
- The thoughts and visions we repeat in our minds every day or like a mantra.
- When we suppress our feelings, we run the risk of blocking our voice as well as our hearts. Over time, a blocked heart can lead to depression and disease.

7. ENERGY: When our energy centers are open, life opens up for us. The right people, auspicious situations, and positive opportunities start flowing our way.
- When our energy centers are cleared in balance, we feel more alive, positive, and joyful.
- Spirit vibration: drives, Burial sites, candles, houseplants, meditation, music, nature, pendulum, prayer, redecorating/clean, space clearing, spirit symbolism, spiritual study, trips, and water.
- Active driving, when we’re not stressed and confrontational, can be a good opportunity to quiet your mind and to pick up a distinct message.
- Our ultimate goal is to live a life of integrity and love that helps raise the consciousness of the planet. Do it with love. That’s when we’re being the highest expression of ourselves.
- Open up and allow your gifts to organically evolve. God has blessed every one of us with unique talents that can that we can share by doing nothing more than being who we already are.
- When our time comes, we decide if we’ve done our best and have done enough. We reach our exit point and realize there’s still work to be done, so we come back into our body with the resolve to do the work. Parentheses near-death experiences parentheses.

8. POSITIVITY: It pays off to think positively, and the only project is the kind of energy you want to get back.
- Making positive progress on a soul level isn’t about being flawless, but about the progress, we made regarding the intentions we set in life to be good and better people. Keep your mess-ups to a minimum.
- Hell is the absence of light and love, and it’s created by negative thoughts and behavior. Anyone filled with hate and darkness resides here and will stay in the south created a dark hole until the soul chooses otherwise.
- The sooner the soul can let go of the fear-driven ego, the faster it can lighten, brighten, and grow.

9. REINCARNATION: On average, it takes souls about two generations before returning to a body, and does so either to inspire others with the insight and knowledge gained in the spiritual realm or to master the lessons we can only learn in the classroom called earth. When our spirit returns to a body, we start again where we left off, at the spiritual level we earned or evolve to the last time around.

10. In the end it’s all but a dream. We each wake up from this dream and remember we agreed to participate in this human experience to spiritually grow and evolve.
