This story took me by surprise, it portrayed a very hard life the war had brought and the cruel torture that was given by Japanese soldiers, the story was told with such disruptive words and feeling there were times when I could not read more, but I had to reach an end to it all. I look forward to reading more in the Kowloon series.
In memory of lest we forget , but what was forged out of that time , and hope it will never return to the mindless killing which is war , created not by those who fight for peace but by those men who want power.
