Elite Heirs of Manhattan #1

Seductive Hearts: A brother's best friend romance

Rate this book
A spicy brother's best friend, fake dating romance.

Rose

I have always had a crush on my brother’s best friend, Colton Black.

He was my first kiss, the one who shattered my heart.

Since then, I promised myself no playboys.

But I can't say no when Colton suggests a plan to help me win over my crush.

Now I’m stuck pretending to date him while in the Hamptons for four weeks, struggling against his charm and player ways.

But when we’re forced back to the office late one night, our façade crumbles and hidden desires ignite.

Colton

Barrett Black, my insufferable father, has left me no choice. Work in the family business or face being cut off.

That means enduring four long weeks with Rose Goldsmith by my side.

She’s as captivating as she was in our youth, but now she’s focused on driving me crazy.

If we don’t end up tearing each other apart, it will be a miracle.

So while I help her get the man of her dreams…

Somewhere along the way, I realize I want that man to be me.

Missy is an Australian author who writes kissing books with equal parts angst and steam. She loves writing stories about billionaires, enemies to lovers, and the boy next door- just to name a few.

When she’s not writing, she’s taking care of her two daughters and doting husband.

Inspired by the acreage she lives on, Missy regularly distracts herself by visiting her orchard… some days more often than writing!

Then there’s her overweight cat, Charlie, chickens, and bees if she needed another excuse to pass the time.

And, when the day ends, there’s nothing better than unwinding with a gin and tonic as the sunsets surrounded by the ones she loves.

I can’t say I was thrilled with the main characters. While they were in their late twenties, they behaved like teens.

My main issue was with Colton.
I thought him conceited, arrogant and immature.

When I tried to imagine living in some shitty studio apartment in Brooklyn, bile began to rise in my throat. I would have to start budgeting and buying groceries rather than going out for all my meals. I would have to live like a so-called normal person, and the idea repulsed me almost as much as the idea of working.” Colton

... poor thing...🤦🏻‍♀️

I was incredibly lucky to have been chosen as an ARC reader for Missy Walker and I can honestly say when this book arrived in my inbox I jumped for joy!

I have been obsessed with the Elite Men of Manhattan series and the "Hunkholes" since reading it and to say this book was a very welcome addition to my library is an understatement. After finishing this book, all I can say is She's done it again!

Seductive Hearts held my attention from the first chapter until the last. I was sad when it was over but also excited for the next book in the series.
I adore the strong female lead in Rose, the "take no crap" attitude she has but she's also smart and humble enough to admit when she's wrong or needs help.
Colton is the "bad boy" player with a heart of gold who you can't help but love and feel for. His change in attitude and behaviour is fun to see.

Some of my favourite parts of the book were in seeing who Colton truly is - through the conversations with Rose, to past memories, to how he reacts to his Dad Barrett, how his Mother Lourde sees him, how loyal he is to his friends and family and his ability to grow and change. The banter, humour, sexual tension, whit and charm is on point. You truly see that Rose and Colton balance each other out!

My only complaint is that it's over!!!! I want more!

Another amazing story by Missy Walker. Thank you 😊

I finished this book in just one day because I could not put it down! The chemistry between Rose and Colton is electric, and their love-hate relationship keeps you on your toes and wanting more. Rose's childhood crush on her big brother's best friend adds an extra layer of tension and excitement. The plot keeps you hooked from start to finish. Missy Walker has yet again crafted a captivating romance that is both steamy and heartfelt. I cannot wait for the next book in the series. Highly recommend!

Continuing on from the Elite Men of Manhattan series, Seductive Hearts tells the story of Colton Black, son of Barrett & Lourde and Ari & Olivia's daughter Rose.

Colton was Rose's first crush and kiss when she was 15, which they shared at his 18th birthday party.
But by the next morning, Colton had been photographed kissing another woman.
Since then Rose has resented Colton and avoided him at all costs, even though their families are still so close.

Ten years later, Rose is expanding the family business by opening a new store in the Hamptons.
Colton and Rose are forced to work together when Barrett uses the opportunity to force Colton to start being responsible and stop being a 'spoiled rich boy who just waltzes through life relying on his family's wealth' - by becoming the project manager for the renovation of Rose's new premises.

This story is full of humour, interesting characters, a son who's behaviour is strikingly similar to his father's at his age, a daughter who is incredibly uptight, plenty of sexual heat and angst.
It even contains a handy dandy Family Tree and bonus scene.

I loved catching up with the 'hunk holes' once again and meeting the next generation.
I suggest first reading the Elite Men of Manhattan series and the novella to get the full experience.

Highly recommended!

I'm looking forward to Noah's story, Sweet Surrender, coming out next.

I was lucky enough to be chosen as an ARC reader and I started reading it as soon as I received it.

I am so happy to have gotten an ARC for Missy Walker's newest addition to the Elite Men of Manhattan characters. In the Elite Heirs of Manhattan book number one, we get to meet the adult children of Lourde and Barrett Black (Colton Black) and Olivia and Ari Goldsmith (Rose Goldsmith).

I have loved the Eliete Men of Manhattan from book one. The heirs are just as lovable (or frustratingly captivating) from the first page to the last. Seeing the relationships Barrett and Ari have with their children and the childhood friends-enemies-fake dating-lovers journey Colton and Rose go through to get their HEA is a great start to this spin-off series, and I can't wait for the rest of the books in this series to be released!!!

I loved Seductive Hearts and Colton and Rose’s story. It had all the character development, emotions and steaminess that I love from Missy’s books.

Colton was the perfect next generation hunkhole! He may have started off as a playboy, trust fund baby but to see his work ethic and how he changed was so good.

I can’t wait for the rest of the Elite Heirs of Manhattan series.

Finding out the Elite Men of Manhattan series would continue with stories of their children just thrilled me. I was beyond excited to be chosen to receive an ARC and now I need all the other stories!

Missy Walker has done it again. The story or Rose and Colton is captivating from the first chapter and their dynamic is fire! The only thing you’ll be sad about is that it’s over. But, given how close all the “Hunkhole” children are, I’m sure we’ll hear more about them in future books.

I loved the storyline of Colton learning to trust and believe in his own worth. Rose was set in her path of what her future and future partner would be, so seeing those barriers broken down as she learned what true love and support from a partner can look like, made this HEA come to life. Lastly, it wouldn’t be a Misty Walker book with our the passion & steamy scenes! I can’t wait to read the rest of the Elite Heirs of Manhattan series. Well done, Missy!

The excitement I had when I was notified that I received an advanced copy of this book was hard to contain. I loved the Elite Men of Manhattan books. This one was not a disappointment. I read it in a day.

The storyline follows in alignment with her other Elite books. This is not a slow burn, quick and to the point, the plot moves right along.

Now for the spice: a solid 3 not too much, not too little. Again similar to her other Elite books.

Overall, I enjoyed the book. It stayed on theme with her other Elite books, was a quick read, and had the right amount of spice.

I was a big fan of Missy Walker's "Elite Men of Manhattan" series, so having the opportunity to be an ARC reader for this book was an absolute privilege! I would not hesitate to recommend this book to anyone who enjoyed the Elite Men series, because three chapters in, I already felt that I was virtually back in the magic of the elite world. Of course, the heirs brought their own unique flavour to the table.

The dynamic and chemistry between Rose and Colton was undeniably great, their journey from enemies to lovers was well paced (did not feel like it was dragging on) and their banters and insults on minor characters was a great source of occasional comic relief to their otherwise sensual tension throughout the book. I also loved that despite Rose & Colton's different work ethics, they both got a valuable lesson out of their project (the value of having someone to lean on for Rose and finding significance in something to work towards for Colton). Additionally, one of my favourite tropes is reformed playboy so Colton's subtle acts of service (such as remembering Rose's favourite restaurants and her values in a partner) made him even more of an ideal MMC.

If I were to provide constructive feedback on some areas of the story that I hoped for more from, it would be that Landon's character could have potentially been explored a little further or not existed at all. When Colton suggested for Rose to pretend to date him, he was already confident in his theory that Landon will end up trying to one up him so his jealousy was not as prevalent as it could have been. Moreover, Rose's "feelings" for Landon were not convincing even before she started anything with Colton, which sort of defeats the reason as to why she would pretend to date someone she disliked (other than lusting for Colton).

That being said, this book is still a 5 star from me and I am very much looking forward to the release of Noah's book next! Since it is highly likely that Sienna will be Noah's love interest, I have my fingers crossed that Colton will be our first non hypocritical elite men/heir by not grilling their best friend for dating his baby sister despite doing so himself (IYKYK). :)

Elite men of manhattan was an absolute treat, which had me hooked from the start, I was nervous for the elite heirs, would it live up to the older gen which had captured me?
First book down, yaaaassssss it delivered!!!! There is of course links to the MOM series it was good to see the follow up on the characters as they had aged. The roots from the MOM series are built so effortlessly that we feel we know their lives, because we read their parent’s story. I have to say Missy has out done herself, to make a reader fall in love with a character takes a lot of clever story building, but there’s not one character I haven’t felt some connection to in all her books, this was no different.
I read Seductive hearts in a day, enamoured with Colton, rooting for him from the off. His relationship with his father was a shock to start (Barrett you uptight hunkhole.) Colton’s frustration, non direction. He was so misunderstood, he oozed confidence/arrogance,all bravado, he just wanted his dad to be proud. Then Rose, well isn’t she a sweetheart, from a young girl in love to a woman who was striving to become a legend in business! She couldn’t resist the charm of Colton, as much as she (half heartedly) tried! I suppose abs of steel and looks to kill didn’t hurt either! I loved how they understood each other, how he wanted the best for her, even when he thought it wasn’t him, she wanted the same for him in return. Spice was on point as always from Missy, there is no holding back on it, which is what we all love! There was humour and a lot of wit, making me have so many highlights I lost count! The layers of Colton & Rose were peeled back as we went through the chapters and I just couldn’t put it down! Lots of teasers of the other heirs for books to come too! I cannot wait to get stuck into the next book in the series! A definite MUST read!

Thank you for the opportunity to ARC read the start of the newest series. This, is the Heirs of the Elite Men of Manhattan Series, those "hunkholes" we loved. In this first book, we meet Colton Black (Barrett and Lourde's son) and Rose Goldsmith (Ari and Olivia's daughter). This potential relationship was mentioned briefly, in the novella to tie all the Elite Men together and to see where they were as a conclusion, and as a way to introduce us to this series.

Colton, is a chip of the old block in every way, and therefore we see the clashing of egos between him and his father. And, Colton does not like it, nor does he like being told what to do.

Rose, is the apple of her parents eye, and Rose wants to be like her beloved Grandmother, and that means building up a business on her own, something that showcases her talent and drive. Of course, there is this less than brilliant idea, well this is Rose' thinking, to have Colton help project manage the build alongside her, something neither of them wants. Rose still has some residual feelings from those teenage years, from her first kiss with Colton, but, given his reputation, why would she even want to go there? And there is that issue of him being like family, with her parents being close to his, and her brother Noah, being one of Coltons best friends. But, Rose and Colton are absolutely what they both need. I love seeing the interactions between our much older "hunk holes" and their children, and, after loving the Elite Men Series, I now get to see them as older men, with adult children, and that dynamic play out. I love Missy's writing, with spice and emotion all wrapped up perfectly to give us an easy book to read. The next book will be about Noah and Sienna, and am I excited yes, yes I am.

Seductive Hearts.

In this spicy read, Missy Walker introduces us to the next generation of Manhattan’s Elite. Meet Connor Black, son of Barrett and Lourde Black (you can find their story in Forbidden Lust and Forbidden Love) and Rose Goldsmith, daughter of Ari and Olivia Goldsmith (their story is in Missing Love).

Rose’s childhood crush on Connor is about to be exposed and Connor is going to be forced to look in the proverbial mirror and face some uncomfortable truths.

Through the process of working together to build out a unique Goldsmith Fashion storefront, Connor and Rose have to deal with their history. Simultaneously, Landon, a candidate for state senator has decided he’s the right choice for Rose’s future.

This book will release July 3, 2024, but is currently available for preorder. Also, if you prefer audio books, you’ll absolutely lose yourself in Connor’s voice. That voice actor is completely swoon worthy.

Book Quote: “ ‘Vail. That was a good night. It’s a shame you decided I wasn’t worth talking to anymore, or we could have done more of that.’ Did I sound bitter? What if I did? Her mouth fell open before she snapped it shut. ‘Yes. A shame’.”
~ Conversation between Connor Black and Rose Goldsmith ~

Book Quote: “She was standing there, waiting at the top of the wide staircase, looking down at me. I forgot how to breathe as her eyes fixed on mine. ‘This is it. This is how I die. Killed by the sheer presence of a woman.’ Not just any woman. A tall, regal blonde whose body was perfectly encased in an elegant red dress that moved softly around her as she began her graceful descent.”
~ Connor Black musing about Rose Goldsmith ~

⭐⭐⭐⭐ Loved it! Would recommend and really great.
🌶️: start at 50% vanilla sex, around 3 described scenes, might have praise kink and maybe one butt play scene.

rose has nursed a lifelong crush on colton black, her brother’s best friend who was also her first kiss and heartbreaker. determined to avoid playboys, she reluctantly agrees to colton’s plan to help her win over another man while pretending to date him in the hamptons for four weeks. their arrangement tests her against his charm and playboy reputation, but late nights working together in the office reveal hidden desires that threaten their fake relationship. meanwhile, colton, pressured by his father to join the family business, finds himself stuck with rose, whose presence both frustrates and intrigues him. as they navigate their tumultuous arrangement, colton begins to realize he wants to be the man in rose’s heart, not just her pretend boyfriend.

i was lucky to receive an arc for this book

i have loved the elite men of manhattan and the the first book in this second gen series is no exception. seductive hearts had me captivated from the first chapter to the very end. rose, the strong-willed protagonist, stole my heart with her no-nonsense attitude and intelligence, while colton, the charming bad boy with a surprising depth, underwent a delightful transformation throughout the story. their banter, sexual tension, and growth together were simply perfect, making them a truly balanced pair. i loved seeing the hunkholes and i can't wait for the rest of the books in this series.

tropes: fake dating, brother’s best friend, billionaire

Well where do I start? If you are reading this book for the first time but have not read any of the other Elite Men series then STOP and go back to the beginning which is Forbidden Lust and I promise you won’t be disappointed! I have been hooked and when I got the chance to be apart of the Arc preview for Seductive Hearts, I couldn’t resist (mainly because I’m impatient haha).

Rose has lots of her mums traits, a beautiful, hard working woman who isn’t afraid to put someone in their place, to chase what she wants and strive until she succeeds.
Colton oh Colton, I got more Connor vibes than Barrett but either one is a hot as hell hunk hole! Sexy, confident but still has that lost little boy vibe due his father being a douche (which made me sad that Barrett treated his son as such). But his ability to adapt and face a challenge head on was a turn on! That damn smut gets me every single time! It’s my favourite & I’m not ashamed to say it!

Favourite parts of the book are when he grabbed her during their first lunch, their first steamy smut session in the new office, when they both defended each other against Noah, when Barrett finally showed appreciation to his son & found out about Rose, then of course when they told each other they were in love!

Once again you delivered Missy! Really looking forward to the rest of the minis😍

This is Book 1 of the Elite Heirs which follows on with the next generation.

Colton, son of Barrett and Lourdes, is a trust fund baby and a playboy whose behaviour is being curbed when his father gives him the project management task of overseeing the building of the new Goldsmith's flagship store. Rose Goldsmith, daughter of Ari and Olivia, is in charge of this project and is his client. They start off with a rocky start despite knowing each other from birth but their connection and attraction to each other flares to life very quickly. Rose has always had a crush on Colton.

Rose is the only person who has defended Colton and he stood up for her when she needed him. They make a wonderful couple with electric chemistry but as with all Missy's story's it takes a soul searching process to get there.

The character development and build in their relationship was well executed and it was good to revisit the Hunkholes.

This contemporary book is typical of Missy Walker's writing style. Written in a dual POV, this book is full of humour, angst, great character development, fun banter, lots of swearing and sex. I look forward to reading Noah's book next in this series.

There is a bonus chapter with the sign-up to the author's newsletter.
I was gifted an ARC copy to read.

I was super exited to see that I was selected as an ARC reader for this book. My first time ever as an ARC reader but I recently finished the Heirs of Manhattan series and I was curious to see how the story would continue with their children.
Rose is a very strong and confident person in the book and I loved that she didn't give in too quickly to Colton. Also, Landon seemed an actual prick and I would have hated to see those two together. Rose definitely deserves better.
Colton is so much like his father Barrett and I felt somewhat sorry for him that Barrett gave him such a hard time. Besides the 'asshole' Colton is a very sensitive and sweet person and him falling in love with Rose was so much fun to read. Also, I was pleased to read that Olivia and Lourde's company was still blooming, I really rooted for them to make it a success from the start.

I must say that I thought the first part of the book was a bit hard to get through, but once I was through that I couldn't put it down. Looking forward to the next books in this series!Seductive Hearts: A brother's best friend romanceMissy Walker

A Riveting Start to the Heirs Series: "Seductive Hearts"
If you were captivated by the Elite Men of Manhattan series, the Heirs series is an absolute must-read. "Seductive Hearts" is an enthralling addition that is impossible to put down. The story revolves around Colton and Rose, two characters who couldn't be more different. Rose, the quintessential good girl, is searching for a stable relationship, while Colton, a notorious party boy, is following in his father's footsteps with a string of flings across Manhattan. However, their worlds collide when Barrett assigns Colton on a project together. The chemistry and tension between Colton and Rose are palpable, making for a riveting read. The plot twists and dynamic interactions kept me engaged until the very last page. I'm eagerly anticipating the next installment to see how Noah's story unfolds.

This was my first book of Missy Walker's to read. However, I have been wanting to read several of them for some time. I was excited when I was given the opportunity to be on her ARC team.
From the moment I started reading it, I was hooked! I read through half the book in one sitting, and would have finished it, if it wasn't 3am! For those that have read the other stories and know their backstory, I'm sure it was exciting to continue the journey. For those that haven't read them (like me), it was easy enough to get engrossed in the characters and I didn't feel like I was missing anything by not reading other stories. Missy's characters are likable and relatable while reading the book and make you want to see how it's going to end.

I can't wait to read more of this series and definitely want to read the series regarding the "parents"!

Colton what an extraordinary guy, but you had to look deep to see it. When his father told him he was gonna work with a girl he grew up with him at had some dealings with.. Colton was a playboy who was always in trouble. His father talked very bad to him .His mother was very loving and loyal..Rose has been a model and now I was going into a business deal with her parents and his parents. It meet a lot to her for it to done correctly. Rose wanted to date, Landon . But he didn’t seem to know she existed. Colton told her he would go out with her to make Landon jealous… Growing up whatever girl Colton had Landon had to have .That why he thought it would work with him taking her out..When you really saw Colton, he was a good businessman. It had to come from somebody else for her for his father to believe in him..This is a very fast pace book.

Being able to read about the children of the Hunkholes and the lovely ladies is amazing! I loved every bit of this book, from the sexual tension to the arguing, it was hilarious. I loved the dynamic between Colton and Rose, following the foot steps of their parents and doing it with pride, even if SOMEONE isn't interested.... Colton (cough, cough). THe two of them working together is interesting, and it was inevitable that they got together from the epilogue of the Novella from the original series. Let's just say I was rooting for them from the beginning.

I can't wait to read about Noah and Sienna's story!

Well done Missy, and can't wait to see what you have planned for the rest of the series.

What a great start to the newest series from @missywalkerauthor. The Elite Heirs of Manhattan Series is the next generation of the Elite Men of Manhattan series. You don’t need to have read the Elite Men series but it will certainly give you an insight into characters.

Rose has always had a crush on Colton. He was her first kiss. But she wasn’t interested in playboys. So when they begin a fake dating relationship, true feelings start to surface.

This brothers best friend, fake dating romance is a super quick read and delivers the heat, spark and spice that Missy always delivers.

Thank you @missywalkerauthor for the e-ARC of this story. I can’t wait to read more from the Elite Heirs, I’m hooked.

I absolutely loved The Elite Men of Manhattan series, and this is Book 1 in The Elite Heirs of Manhattan, which is our next generation,

I am certain that there are going to be some sensational match ups in this series. Here we have the story of Colton and Rose. Rose is the daughter of Olivia and Ari and she has been in love with Colton for most of her life. Colton is one of the next generations “hunkholes” and is the son of Barrett and Lourde.

Now if you are looking for a slow burn, this is not for you … things get steamy quite quickly between these two. I loved witnessing Colton fall for Rose and the way that she stands up for him to his family, even after everything.

I cannot wait for the rest of this series.

Colton black is the typical trust fund playboy. He has no interest in joining the family business nor settling down. He thinks with his dick and sleeps his way through all the willing girls of Manhattan.

That is, until his father forces him to work. He gets paired up with his best friends sister and old friend Rose goldsmith. She’s strong, feisty and has a lot to prove to her own parents. She has a plan, knows what she wants and how to get it.

Colton’s decides to help Rose reach these goals, but doesn’t realise he starts falling for her until it’s almost too late. Rose eventually gets everything she wants but in the end she was wrong all along.

I was given a free advance copy of this story in exchange for an honest review.

Wow wow wow, I absolutely loved the Elite men of Manhattan series and really hoped there would be a continuation and Missy seriously hasn’t disappointed with the Heirs of Manhattan series so far. I loved Colton and rose’s story! The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree does it? I was a bit sad about Barrett’s harsh approach to his son. But happy he showed more care later in the book. Colton is a hottie to say the least and I love his wit and the complexity of how he sees himself. I love the humour and the sass in this book. Colton and Rose’s story is just gorgeous. The Hunkholes have gotten old sigh, I’d like to see more of the mini Hunkholes and their friendship! Really looking forward to Noah’s story next in Sweet Surrender. It looks like a lot more sass and drama. Can’t wait!

I really loved this book. Rose was great from the beginning but Colton was obnoxious and it took me time to start to like him. Their chemistry was phenomenal to read. Doing this project with Rose seemed to make him grow up a little and be more mature. He wanted to succeed because he knew how much it meant to her. 🥰 I hate when brothers find out their sisters are with their bf's and freak out and say demeaning things about her to her face. She's an easy lay, basically she's a wh0r€. I think she forgave him a little to easily for that and it was great to see Colton fight for her honor. By the end I was wishing we could have more time with Rose and Colton!

I am leaving my honest review for a complimentary copy of this book via the author.

5 stars – Seductive Hearts by Missy Walker is book 1 in the Elite Heirs a follow-on series to Elite Men of Manhattan (fabulous series - a MUST read!). We read about Colton and Rose, both children of the hunkholes. Great story as we watch them grow/mature into professionals rather than just trust fund babies and playboys (Colton, not sweet Rose). Loads of chemistry and funny comments from the side characters. This is a wonderful story with great tropes – fake dating and brother’s best friend. Missy has another hit series on her hands! I cannot wait to read book 2 with Noah and Sienna.

A big Thank you to Missy Walker for giving me the honor of reading an ARC.

What an amazing start to the series! Once I started reading, I couldn’t put it down (until real life called me away for a bit before I could rush back to finish reading). I loved the character development of Rose and Colten both separately and together. Rose realizing that the “ideal” guy who fits her wants list isn’t actually what she wants is so relatable. Colton going from a party boy who is only focused on his own needs to actually caring about more than himself, both in and out of the bedroom, was great to see. I can’t wait for Noah’s story!

This book did not disappoint! The banter between Colton and Rose pulled me in immediately. Rose’s independent, spirited and sassy demeanor starting in the first chapter made her one of my favorite protagonists to date. Colton’s clever retorts were brilliantly incorporated throughout. The chemistry between this duo is undeniable and perfectly written.

If you didn’t read about the “Hunkholes” in the Elite Men of Manhattan Series previously, you will not have a problem following this story line. I can't wait to see how the rest of the next generations stories play out!

This was such a great book. Fiesty with a great romance and loads of push pull in the relationship.

This was about Colton, Barrett Black's son who is deemed to be irresponsible and his father sends him to work with Rose Goldsmith to set up a store.

Loads of sass and fiesty comebacks in the banter between Rose and Colton. It really makes for delicious reading. Their relationship comes about mainly from a childhood history and obvious attraction.

Great characters that come alive and a simple but interesting plot make this a great book. Very well done!!
