IT CROSSED MY MIND

4⭐
It crossed my mind is a series of observations of things around us the times we live in, the people around us and in the world.
It has a host of topics ranging from culture, personal habits, vagaries and quirks of everyday life to relationships and politics.
This sharp observations will give us a good laugh and at some instances even make us pause and reflect.
Here are a few which struck a chord to me for eg - if one can't find a name in voters list so we can't vote. The why can't it happen that one can't find its name in the PAN card hence shouldn't pay taxes!!
Another thought provoking one - sometimes we insult by saying "you are an animal" but animals are faithful and loyal so rather the worst insult should be Dnt be like a human being".
This book is a must read for those who like humour in their stories esp the ones pertaining to today's society.

The last slide though 👀👀👀

“A brilliant collection of musings that encompasses a wide range of subjects from politics to pollution, environmental hazards to visa nightmares, and current affairs to reflections on the past. It also delves into culture, religion, and relationships, offering poignant and intriguing insights into various aspects of life.

The author skillfully elucidates various incidents through captivating stories and examples, highlighting the bizarre state of affairs while simultaneously casting an opinionated lens on society.

The satirical narrative breathes life into these musings, rendering them not just thought-provoking but also a stark reality check that is often overlooked. For instance, the critique of the unjust rule of cut-off marks and the plight of academic outcasts. The author’s incisive commentary on issues that remain pertinent yet are deemed irrelevant due to power politics underscores the gravity of the situations explored throughout the book.

Sunil’s diverse reflections offer a broad spectrum of life and thoughts that resonate with readers in a relatable manner. Many of these thoughts have likely crossed our minds but have been blurred by time; this book prompts introspection and renewed contemplation.

The humorous tone and sarcastic narrative keep readers engaged, while also encouraging them to form their own opinions. The caricatures are another highlight of the book, adding vibrancy to the reading experience with their simple yet powerful sketches that emphasize key passages.

Overall, this collection is a remarkable exploration of contemporary issues and personal reflections, presented in a manner that is both entertaining and enlightening.”

Sunil Gupta's It crossed my mind is a peculiar book to read since it is full of concepts that are not spoken. You will find a great deal of comedy and sarcasm in the unique chapters that are scattered throughout the book. In spite of the fact that the book is packed with entertaining material, you won't come across a single situation in which you will experience boredom. Several passages had me laugh out loud like a crazy person. The author is a very insightful writer, and the idea that he has presented has been so skillfully developed that it is absolutely flawless. The language is easy to read, and the content is just as captivating as the cover.

The term ITIB, which stands for "India that is Bharat," is used to illustrate the reality in which we currently reside. There is a wide range of feelings that are reflected in this book, which has 108 chapters that are a direct expression of the author's ideas. Chapter 3, Chapter 11, Chapter 36, Chapter 59, and Chapter 83 are the ones that I enjoy reading the most. Despite the fact that I am unable to claim that it is a book that everyone should read, I strongly encourage you to read this book. Its material is so bizarre and original that it could strike a chord with some of your insane notions.

Quirky and candid, Sunil Gupta’s “It Crossed My Mind” is a series of sharp observations that will make us pause and reflect on the situation. With various topics from politics to cricket to culture to relationships to fun situations and personal habits, Sunil Gupta with his words, makes readers curious about the circumstances as we all must have been in them some or the other time. It has questions which we must have thought about.

With crisp descriptive narrative and enthralling writing style, he keeps it light yet intense making it an interesting read. His observations are compelling and the way he portrays them is interesting. One of the observations I like is - Why are the celebrations which occur after a wicket is taken in a cricket match so over-the-top?

Not to forget the illustrations he adds are unique. From discussing sensitive topics like discrimination, and black money to discussing some awkward situations, Random yet interesting his opinions will bring smiles to the faces of the readers.

This book is one hilarious ride that Sunil Gupta takes us on. A light, fun and entertaining read.

To describe what this book is in simple words, you just need to read the title of the book. It is a collection of thoughts that the author has pondered upon at times.
The topics are honestly quite good, and a lot of them were pretty unique. Gupta made sure to keep them light hearted but at times, serious so the book does not stay in constraints. The writing was neat, keeping the text gripping and easy to understand.
The flow of the book was not really consistent, as the theme of every topic differed vastly from the last one. Keeping them in a specific order on theme basis would have made the book more comprehensive.
It Crossed My Mind is a light hearted read that just might be your perfect weekend read.
