Let me say, this book wasn't bad in the grand scheme of books. But it was bad compared to book 1 and compared to literally every other book this author has written. What happened? Book 1 laid out all the potential. The romances were on point! Luna had this slow burn romance going, we were getting to know her guys, the relationships were going to deepen.. and then books 2 & 3 just destroyed that.

I'll have to be brutally honest in this next part. What the hell was the point of Adonis? Has there ever been a more useless character? There was ZERO reason for him. Like absolutely nothing. Like I'm actually in shock that the author wrote him because he brought nothing. NOTHING. He was no help in actual plot of the book, I don't even think he knew the extent of everything that was going on. Anytime plans were made or executed he wasn't there. He didn't bring any sort of humor or emotion to the story because he had no personality. I don't know anything about this man except for that one chapter we learned about him in the beginning of book 1 and that he likes books... that's it. The author tried to sell this loving relationship between him and his brother Victor but we never actually saw it.

My issue with book 2 was that the book was too short for 7 characters and that I hoped book 3 would be longer so we can really dive into the characters. I had to laugh when I saw this book was less than 300 pages. I knew right then and there this was gonna be an extremely shallow story. Victor had the potential to be an amazing character (with the rest of the rogues too). He had so many layers, we could have had such an interesting and complex character and he was wasted!

All of the rogues were basically background characters. This was the Luna and Saylor show, who are the most insufferable characters in the series. And for anyone was reads romance books for the steamy and interesting sex scenes there were none here.

Since I'm ranting I'll also say I hate, hate, hate that character death, you know which one I'm talking about. Another interesting character and relationship wasted. I'm actually so disappointed. These characters were too interesting to be treated this way. This series teased me with a good time and then didn't deliver.

I have no clue what happened to this series. I don’t even know what to say. This was a mess. The author is usually much better then this. It was uninspired, generic, and just flat out a waste of time.

After finishing this book, I went back to look at my 5-star review of the first novel, and I just don’t know how we ended up here.

In the first novel, I absolutely loved that this took the wildness of the Saints & Sinners and Savage Heirs series and just amplified it. A MMC who pretends he is a vampire? Another love interest who needs a muzzle and acts like a dog? Sure, I’ll roll with it.

But at some point, we lost the plot. The unbelievable is only good when tempered with reality. When every interaction is cranked up to 11, nothing is important, and everything is just wacky. When the secrets start to unravel, there is such a great opportunity to have Saylor switch to a thoughtful ally — she may have resented having to act rationally, but hey, the Burkhardts have a code. Instead, she was a flaming harpy in every scene, just to be antagonistic?

We also lost the romance and smexy time. Seriously, outside of one scene, Adonis was mostly absent from this book. And poor Lucien only got two phone calls. At some point, there just becomes too many dudes to juggle, and any relationship or character development is lost — especially in a story that is just faced-paced action and minimal plot.

“Too much” is my main problem with this story. By adding too many love interests, introducing too many plot lines (hello, Alistar), and too many beats, the story moves along like a rock skipping along the surface. Everything was a brief, shallow touch before we were on to the next jump.

The four Rogues were such interesting characters in the first novel, and it was interesting to see their relationships with Luna develop as she tried to determine what happened to her sister. Ultimately it was just disappointing that they were lost under everything else that was piled on to get us to an abrupt end.

What was this?

I sincerely wish this wasn't what I was writing. In my opinion, Ruby needs to pull this book and rework it.

I have read every series by this author, every single one. Saint, Brutal, those are my guys. It's one of my absolute favorite series to date. So when I say I did not like this book and I have no idea what happened I say it as someone who went it already loving this author and all her other work, I was an easy sell.

This book was a lot shorter than the first two. Did it wrap up the story? Technically, sure, but it just seemed like something written by a completely different person. All the guys lost their personality. Heck, they were basically useless names on the page. They added nothing to the story, and one of them was only mentioned, I think twice.

*slight spoilerish wording*
This author is usually amazing at having these twists I never see coming that also still enhance the story and characters. But this book just threw the kitchen sink in for no reason. I absolutely hated the twist with her father toward the end it seemed pointless, something to just add more drama. I just straight up did not like this book.

I know sometimes blocks happen or deadlines or family emergencies. idk like I'm very sympathetic to all that, but this should have never been released. It's not to the standard of any other of her books, and her characters deserved so much more, especially poor Allister, that mfer was completely pointless. I really hope this book gets the rework it deserves because if this had been the first book/series ending I ever read from this author, I would not have read anything else. And I hate to say that because she is so much better than this.

This series should of been called “Dear Thor” ugh 😩

MAJOR POINTS TAKEN OFF FOR ALL THE AWFUL PHRASES, SUCH AS….

“Into her well” 🤢
“Meat MISSLE” 🤮
“CAVERN” 🙀

OK, now that we got that out of the way, this book thoroughly pissed me off. The series was OK. It started out a little wonky. It definitely got better in the second book, then we get to the third & I feel like there was so much rushing that they cut it off like before it could get anywhere. I don’t like the fact that the boys were in prison for like the last half of the book and then when they come out, it’s a year later. They’re still searching for the mother, Adonis is like the extra guy, they formed zero relationship at all & my cardinal sin in reverse harems is there was no group scenes. I think there was one ménage between the Dumont Brothers and her but that was it. Also, them getting Levi in the end was cool & all even where they went with it with sailor and stuff, but it just didn’t make sense at all to cut it so short after all of that buildup? What happened to the cop? the cop that covered literally everything they did didn’t mention her at all after all that. Meh this had potential but overall I’d say it’s like 3 ⭐️, 3.5 ⭐️ & 2 ⭐️

not as good as the previous books

They were felt complex and made you think how did the author come up with this (in a good way) and hooked you in…this one just felt like missed opportunities.

She was using the voice memo app to replay her plans…confession who?

I don't know what the fuck happened to this book. Seriously, what happened, how did I go from giving it 5 and 4 stars to giving it 2? I mean, I loved the first and second, I loved Luna for her intelligence and cunning, I loved the guys, each and every one of them; especially Victor, Cato and Adonis. The evolution of characters, the evolution in revenge. I felt so much every time I read a new chapter, I was so excited... and then it all went to the same shit.

Luna wasn't so smart anymore, she was dumb, impulsive and made decisions without thinking about the consequences. The evolution she had in the first two books, in this one just disappeared. There were a lot of things she could have done differently, I mean, she was so cunning and then... then she wasn't anymore. Even though she hurt Everleigh too much in the end and I liked how she did it, I think she made so many bad decisions that I couldn't enjoy it too much.

The author left out Adonis throughout the book, literally one of my favorite guys and who I expected more character development and in the relationship, he showed up a total of 2 times, not even when Luna lost her father and all her other men were in prison and Victor missing, Adonis was with her. It's as if the author forgot there was a sixth love interest. And Victor didn't play much of a role either, I just don't get it. It killed me not to read more of the boys. I hated that the author did that to my babies and for that reason I don't know if I'll ever read anything by her again. I mean, I'll always have that fear that she'll make me fall in love with the love interests in the first two books and then be as disappointed in the end as I was with this one.

The interactions with the boys were few and far between. There was no more character evolution, each and every one was stuck in the same thing. Gone was everything wonderful that the author gave us in the first two. I have already mentioned in many reviews that I deeply hate it when authors give more weight to one thing more than another, that they give more weight to romance than plot and vice versa.

Here it was the latter. The plot took more weight than the romance, there was no 50/50, there were no interactions, or there were very few of them with all the guys and in an RH that's the worst thing that can happen. I think the writer wanted to deliver the last book of the trilogy once and for all because many on Amazon were complaining that it had been too long to give us the ending, that she was too late in writing it and so she did this all rushed and shit eating. It's like a different author wrote this. The ending felt quite unsatisfying, Alistair's death was so quick and so bland that it hurt me that this amazing character we met at the beginning had such a butt ending and I cried for it, not because of how he died, but the way Ruby handled this, I felt so helpless.

I demand that the author rewrite this book, give us more pages, more romance and interactions, just more. I was so disappointed in this book and it's a shame it ended this way after how much I loved the first two.

*************

So close yet so far...

The epilogue makes sense. Why there is such a huge gap between the end of the book and the epilogue makes no sense. But what bothers me the most is the FMC. She cannot fight, keeps getting beat up and crying about it. She doesn't have any particular skills to make her an asset. Yet she insists on doing things on her own. In fact, she says that all of her plans fall apart then proceeds to make more plans that fall apart and require her to be saved. This girl has learned nothing from book 1 and it makes this thoroughly unenjoyable. Everyone grows and evolves except for the one person from whose view we see this world.

For a series “the rogues” I feel we didn’t get enough Rogues. We experienced a lot of Luna and all of her dumbness. She tries to be a strong FMC but she does the dumbest things repeatedly. There is not much relationship time in this book or one on one time with her guys. To build a good RH with a good plot there needs to be that nice balance between the two and I found this series lacking. Never getting to fully embrace each guy and their craziness. Or the group as a whole. Rafael was barely in the last book. Adonis had no real impact and should not have been a storyline.

Disappointed- Spoiler Alert!

I hate being disappointed in the last book of a series. I feel like Luna was a liar and so self centered. She lied to her guys straight to their faces. She did what she wanted without including them, or only including them because she had no choice. Things always went wrong because she’s stupid and doesn’t learn from her mistakes, and the guys just acted like it was no big deal. That really bothered me because without trust in a relationship you have nothing. When you throw in a harem of guys, how is being a liar supposed to help relationship building? Which brings me to the whole Adonis thing. Why was he a part of this whole thing? He shouldn't have been included as one of her guys. By the end of this book he seems like a side piece instead of a relationship. It is just odd.

Now, what frustrated me even more, was the whole Everleigh thing. How was she always ahead of them once they knew how she was getting to them? I don't understand how Everleigh would have known they were going to her house to burn it down if they didn't email or text that information. How would Wolfgang have found out the when? Even if she had cameras on the property, nobody would've gotten there fast enough. So that was odd. Why didn't Katie let Luna know Everleigh wasn't at her house anymore? How did the ropes have poison on them that didn't affect Luna, who was tied up in them, but killed Alistair when he cut himself on them? Why didn't Wolfgang just tell his brother what was going on? It's not like Everleigh was a computer wiz. How would she have known if he contacted his brother to let him know? Why would Wolfgang do something like frame his brother, and friends, as terrorists? Was there really no other option? Why didn't Wolfgang just kill Everleigh if it was enough for Everleigh to die for him to no longer be blackmailed?

Anyway, I know that's a lot of questions, but I really didn't like the ending to this series. It feels like the ending was rushed. The book had a lot of unnecessary drama and then kind of quickly ended. Luna seemed to grow weaker and dumber as the series progressed. I'm just disappointed...

🌟 BOOK REVIEW 🌟
Reign by Wrath by Ruby Vincent
🎶 Wake Up - Black Veil Brides

This book is the final book in the suspenseful twisted story that is the Rogues of the Regalia. In a town where your self worth is wrapped up in your families wealth and power, you’re nobody until you prove yourself. The way they prove themselves…. well let’s just say, alls fair in love and war. Or in this case, revenge.

We pick up where we were dropped after book two and damn. I absolutely did not expect that next meet and greet. Daddy dearest is back, and the revenge and plot makes all the more sense. Familial ties don’t mean shit and that only is driven home tenfold here.

Not only does Luna find herself in need of help from the most unlikely sources, her enemies use her men against her. All of them, Victor, Cato, Raphael, Lucien, Wilder and Adonis. But Luna is strong willed and will do anything to save a person she loves. Which makes her a liability, honestly.

In the end Luna shows he badass roots and takes down the perp. Just kind of in the least climatic way sadly. While I overall enjoyed the book, the ending felt rushed and lacking when the overall series was so action packed. Also, this book is minimal spice to it, and focuses more on the plot. Which kinda made the ending all the more lack luster. Regardless, the rest is all worth it and to see them all finally get their happy ending with a little bigger found family is all the better.

Im this series there were so many good things, but so many bad ones, as well. The first couple of books were so great, but this last one definitely had issues. Yes, there was a lot to wrap up, but it feels like it was just done all of a sudden.

I was starting to get worries at 85% because there was still so much to wrao up, and we weren't really anywhere near that happening. Then things just took a trn. It felt like the author rushed everything to get this book finished, and then it was suddenly over.

At the death of her father, I kept thinking it was faked, but then Victor was still missing and the guys were still in jail. This is the part where it all fell off the rails for me. I get that big final reveal was needed, but it still felt rushed.

Then, wasn't this mansion 3 stories? (I don't quite remember) 3 stories wouldn't really necessarily kill you when you jump.

This last bit of the book did need some work. That being said, I did love that all the guys were not just slightly different copies of each other. They all had their very noticeable differences.

Having 6 guys in an RH, for me, though, is too many. 5 is usually the limit, and in this case I think 5 would have been better. Yeah, Adonis added a little bit here and there, but he wasn't really necessary. He could have easily been written out and not really affected anything.

Overall, I did enjoy this series, and I think I would recommend it to others, just maybe let them know that I didn't really like the seemingly rushed ending.

(Seriously, Saylor and Luna are pals now?)

- as usual the ending felt rushed
- also why is adonis even there? lmao. luna and adonis have like 5 scenes together and half of them are sex scenes and he plays absolutely no role in the whole t.o.d or revenge stuff and because of that he doesn’t help her with anything regarding it so literally why is he there? they have no dates together, there were barely any scenes with them taking and like there was a whole part he could’ve been comforting luna since all the guys were in jail and victor was kidnapped but like… he just.. wasn’t? he definitely felt like an afterthought
- and for that matter, as much i love him too, why is victor there? lmao my guy literally also does pretty much nothing to help and he also doesn’t have anything to do with the club or the revenge. justice for the wilson bros.
- and i’m ngl, i hated what happened with alistair. it just felt so… rushed and how-many-plot-twists-can-i-throw-in you know? (granted that is kind of ruby’s thing but still)

Well, I don't know how to review this one, to be honest. I am happy that I finished this series, but I felt let down with the last book. I feel like Everleigh got too powerful and would have been able to do everything that she did. Even with Wolfes' help, I feel like this was rushed in parts and so slow in others. My gut feeling after the first book was right about Luna being part of that family. I hated what happened with Alistair in the end, I felt confused with everything that went down. I don't hate the series. I am just not a fan of how the last book went down. Am I glad I finished it? Yes.

sensational series

Oh the ruthlessness! This series eeek was absolutely incredible and definitely needs more 5 stars. If you haven’t read this series you need to. Rich snobby kids playing big games that always comes back to bite you. These kids make bullies into child’s play. This is a world full of sick and very psychotic young people who need a wake up call.

The characters are insane, they are unique, different and a little bit scary.
I absolutely loved the characters the story and how addictive this series was. You will be left surprised with how a lot of this series goes and you definitely won’t be disappointed. Huge must read from me 😃

2.5/5

I feel like this trilogy could have been a duology. This book was mostly fluff that was unimportant, lots of whining and crying and throwing a fit from the main female characters, and dramatic reveals that lost their effect after the third one. I did like the overall storyline though, and I liked what I saw of the main male characters, although I do wish we had more time focused on them. Overall the series was a decent read.

Let me just say, wtf.
This is the first time in a lot time that a book ending make me so mad that I had to write a review. I had never before read a Ruby Vincent book and is sandly to say that maybe never read another one again. The ending was awful considering that the first two book were amazing. Make yourself a favor and don't read this series or read the first two and imagine a HEA by yourself because this one is not that.

A thousand times yes!

Phenomenal trilogy. Seriously, so in love I can’t wait to own physical copies. This story was gut wrenching, and violent, sad, and funny all in one go. This book wrapped everything nicely, without it being perfect. Want to know what I’m talking about? Read this trilogy, you won’t be sorry.

I’m shocked at how this turned into a real life or death situation for everyone involved in this world of this political system. Luna didn’t expect this to turn into a real crisis when she started this revenge scare against everyone who was in the wrong place and how it got worse. In the end she got her own life back and finally found her happiness

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Really enjoyed the overall story of this series! The only thing I would have liked to see is a bit more character development for all the guys and the relationship development. It definitely took a backseat to the story which is fine but I didn’t find myself loving any of the characters because I felt like I didn’t know them and connect with them!

I’m so dissatisfied and disappointed. The first two books were four stars for me but this one ? What was the reason that allistair had to die and the way that he died ??? Bullshit. And I’m sorry but where was Adonis the whole time, he got one scene and that was that. Lucian only had two phone calls. The plot was overtaking and it was the sailor, everleigh and luna show.

I love books that can take me through ALL the emotions, sadness, happiness, hatred, anger, wanting revenge on fictional characters, love...desire.. all of it. BUT What I love most in the world are those books that can have me laughing so hard I can barely breathe. Every one of the books in this series did ALL the above, especially the laughter.

So damn good.

I put everything on hold to finish this series! Some of the twist’s were upsetting, but I still didn’t see it coming. Not a lot of spice in this book, though it wasn’t as long. Told from Luna’s POV. I wish the epilogue was longer and wrapped up a bit more, but I will definitely read this series again!

Amazing world building and character development. You can't help but love all the guys and love to hate certain characters. A story that drags you in and holds you captive until the very end. I was an emotional mess and lived every minute of it.
