Juliet Jones, New York’s wealthiest heiress, wants more than just a wedding of convenience. She wants love, and believes she has found it in Lawrence, Duke of Deakin, who has played off her naivete to get what he needs—a wealthy woman to save his ancestral home. Married, the strong willed couple oppose each other at every turn until their anger turns into passion, and perhaps this is more than a marriage of convenience after all.
The description of the book I am listing below is from the back jacket of the book. I'm adding it because I believe the one on the Goodreads page does not depict this story.
A BEAUTIFUL HEIRESS As New York's richest heiress, golden-haired, blue-eyed Juliet Jones could have her pick of suitors. But the savvy Juliet was holding out for a treasure of a different kind: a husband who would love her for more than just her money. Though brilliant with books and business, she was innocent to the sensual charms of a skilled seducer. So when her runaway mare delivered her into the arms of the dashing Lawrence Grenfell Wicke, she sensed nothing behind his warm smile and courtly manners but a sincere heart.
A DESPERATE DUKE For Lawrence, the eighth Duke of Deakin, Juliet's fall couldn't have been more timely: he needed to wed a wealthy American to save his ancestral estate. And with her fabulous wealth, this exquisite beauty who was naive to the game of passionate deceit he played so well was perfect for his wicked scheme. And she did sit a horse rather well.
A DANGEROUS DECEPTION Now these two warring opposites are bound together in a marriage of his convenience. But neither the heiress nor her lord can deny the furious passion and tender yearning unleashed by their battle of wills. And Juliet is ready to show Lawrence that the student can best her master at love's sweetest deceptions…
The only really memorable and entertaining bit was when the psycho stalker of the duke barged into the couple's bedroom, the morning after the official "consummation", and brazenly (if desperately) taunted the 'heroine' that the lump beside her on the bed cannot possibly be the duke.

What can I say? 1990s Regency Romance with very classic tropes -- a titled man in need of an heiress and an heiress who wants to marry for love. A few shady characters, some tantalizing caresses, and voila! You have romance. Well written. A good read, all in all.
