this story involves the Graysons very well to do family, with ugly family seacrets. Trish Grayson Taylor defied her family by running of with a young mechanic at the local gas station. Even tho they were in love, Trish's family highly dissaproved and cut her out of their lives. Down the road Trish finds herself in the position of having to humble herself (for the sake of their children) to retuen home to ask for help after the death of her husband. What follows is family drama, humiliation and an unexpected chance at new love.
This is more of a short story. It's a clean romance between two people that lost their spouse. It has a twist in it. A woman comes home to get help from her parents when her husband dies. They allow her to be a servant and stay with her 3 children. Things go pretty bad for her. Then she meets a handsome stranger and she lets this man hold her. They get very affectionate with each other very quickly. Though there isn't anything steamy between them. They were too comfortable with each other in my opinion. It was short so the author had to rush things in order to get all the story in such a small book. It wasn't a bad story but I won't go out of my way to read another one by this author.
I read this during a major rain storm today. It is a good book about how secrets can unravel a family and how judging others makes life worse. Trish comes home, because she has no where else to go, with 3 children and as a widow. She meets Bart on the first day. He is a widow also. As all good stories go, there are issues-including she discovers she is pregnant, things get worse, but luckily, they end well.
I wasn't any more or less impressed than I have been (and most likely will be) with all of the Heartstrong books. They're light, extremely predictable, quick, and fun to read. If there's anything you can count on with these books, it's that they'll be entertaining, clean, and happily ended. Always happily ended.
At the death of her husband, Trish knows she has to leave Wichita Kansas but where are she and her 3 daughters to go? Penniless she goes back to her parents home and humbles herself and actually becomes their servant to have a place for the 4 of them to stay. Interesting story of wealth, friendship and support of friends.
