Iris has always done want she is told that is until her wedding day arrives and the last person that she wants to marry is the one that has been chosen for her by her parents. And that is how she ends up soaked through to the skin trapsing through the mud and forest looking for where her cousin is living. The very last thing she was expecting to find was a man who is perfect for her, Maverick is all she could ever want and need, especially when he becomes her hero and carries the curvy damsel her off to safety. But after Iris’s sheltered up bringing does she have what it takes to make it in Snowflake Falls and will her hero want her forever or leave her with dashed dreams?
Maverick hadn’t been expecting a damsel in distress in a wedding dress running from what he had no idea, but what he did know that was once he held her in his arms that he never wanted to let her go and was willing to do whatever it took to make her his. Dropping her off at her cousins and leaving without her was hard but knowing that she was safe was all that mattered to him for now. But this fireman recognizes his soulmate especially when fate keeps bringing them together. But is Iris willing to settle for a life on the mountain or for the life she left behind to be what she really wants?
This was a high stream read with some great characters, as with all of Jessa’s books you know that you are getting, characters that will make you swoon and a story that keeps you glued to the pages until the very last page turn. 4.3* Read
Iris ran from her wedding once she was left alone, heading to her cousin's cabin in Snowflake falls. Somewhere she takes a wrong turn, she is still in her wedding dress, which is now wet and muddy. When she slips and slides she is stopped by a huge older man. He says he is a firefighter and offers to take her where she needs to go.
Maverick feels a deep connection from the start. A few days later he sees her in the grocery store having a hard time figuring out what to buy.
Iris is such a babe in the woods, having lived a sheltered life, coming to Snowflake falls is just what she needs to spread her wings. She has one hot firefighter wanting to look out for her.

Maverick didn't expect to see the most beautiful creature in a muddy wedding dress on the side of a mountain needing rescue, but there she was. One of the best nicknames! All Iris knew was she wasn't following through on everything her parents wanted when it would cost her any kind of life she choose for herself.
Mav was a solid constant support, and even made Iris stumble a little always falling back on being the polite nice woman she was raised to be. I love how Maverick introduced her to his Aunt. He got her a job when she's never even picked out milk.
Age is just a number with these two. It doesn't mean a thing. Famous rich person, or mountain man fireman. I love how these two showed how love can make it better. Now don't get me wrong, don't forget your raincoat on all the steamy action your going to encounter, don't say you weren't warned, and remember to Thank Jessa when your done reading!!
His Heat is the second book in the Snowflake Falls Fire Department series and is about Iris Morgan and Aithon "Maverick" Connor. Iris has always been the good girl, doing what she was told and never asking questions. Her parents are out for themselves in all ways and when she is about to be married off for the sack of status Iris finally wakes up and decides to rebel...run in her wedding dress. She knows she can count on her cousin and so she heads to Snowflake Falls. When she gets there she cannot find the place and instead ends up walking up the mountain while it is raining, mud is sucking her in, and she is lost. Maverick was told that there was a woman in a wedding dress and he just had to see her for himself, along with find her as he is part of the SAR team. What he finds is a beautiful woman who he quickly nicknames Ruffles and so begin their witty and sparking banter. I really enjoyed this story as it was a lot of fun to read.
Short, sweet, and gets to the point pretty quickly! I really like all these guys from Snowflake Falls Fire Department. They care about their town and the people around them … they feel real, like someone you’d like to get to know. Maverick (Mav for short) gets a call from his cousin (a logger) reporting seeing a woman in a wedding dress way out in the mountain forest. Finding Iris drenched from the rain and sliding through mud on a watery/muddy path certainly got his attention, and gave him a strange feeling - “this one is special!”. The reason Iris ran before her wedding, the way the townspeople accepts her, how she manages to use her social media knowledge to earn herself a job - all of this makes up the story of Iris and Mav. And it is a sweet tale that keeps you smiling. It has just a little angst and lots of small town interactions and, of course, a very sweet HEA.
Escaping to Her Forever - Iris was a runaway bride run away who felt stifled in her socialite life and wanted to live a regular life away from public scrutiny. Unfortunately, Iris didn’t have a plan when she left, which led to her getting lost, but she was luckily rescued by a gorgeous firefighter. Mav was intensely attracted to Iris from the moment they met, but he decided to take his time to pursue her. Their chemistry and intimate moments were volcanic level hot, which led to them finally declaring their love for each other and embarking on a journey towards a happily ever after. This was a fantastic read, that kept me eagerly turning the pages until the early hours of the morning. It is a definite must read book.

Iris (h22) has always done what she's been told, toeing the line and living up to her family's high expectations. But on her wedding day, something inside her snaps and she flees, only to end up lost and soaked on a mountain above Snowflake Falls. Firefighter Maverick (H40) rescues her from the woods and quickly becomes something more than her rescuer as they get to know one another. As Iris settles into her new life in Snowflake Falls, she discovers a sense of freedom she's never known and a deep connection with Mav that she can't ignore. Things heat up between Mav and Iris, and she realizes she has to make a choice about what she wants her life to be. Sweet and steamy instalove, age gap, curvy girl, firefighter romantic quickie with a side of angst.
Iris took the first chance she could get to run away from her impending wedding. It was literally moments before her wedding though so she packed quickly and hauled out of there. She finds herself on a mountain, in the rain, in a muddy wedding dress when she meets Mav. He offers to help her explaining that he is a firefighter. He quickly picks her up and walks through the mud. Iris is surprised that he could carry her because she is a curvy girl. Mav is not only intrigued with Iris but he’s pretty sure that he’s in love with her. Iris feels the same way about him. This book is a quick, incredible book! Reading it once will not be enough!.

Jessa never disappoints! She gives you a feel good romance, enjoyable, entertaining and filled with love. The story involves Maverick a big, muscular man that is a fireman. He is driving his truck when he sees a woman in a wedding dress in the pouring rain. Mav stops to help the woman and get her into his truck. Iris “Ruffles” is soaked and her dress is muddy and hanging like a rag. It’s been that kinda day for her. Mav takes her to her cousin’s house and drops her off. Mav has never needed a woman, but he can’t get Iris out of his mind. He keeps running into her around town. It has an easy flow, natural and so-o-o good!.

His Heat is the second installment in Jessa Joy’s Snowflake Falls Fire Department series. In it she chronicles the age-gap romance between Iris and Maverick. Fate brought them together when Iris ran away from her wedding and got lost in the woods. He rescued her. Sparks fly between them. He continues to be her hero as other obstacles spurred by her controlling and wealthy parents are thrown in her path. Can he keep her safe and happy? To find out, you must read this book.
Ms. Joy does an outstanding job with her skill in literary devices. Her lead characters are mutli-dimensional. Through her use of dialog, conversational and internal monologue, point of view, and descriptive language she smoothly moves her plot along.
A swoon-worthy firefighter and a curvy and sweet runaway bride star in the fabulous second installment of Jessa Joy's Snowflake Falls Fire Department series His Heat. A steamy age-gap instalove romance, Maverick and Iris have explosive chemistry from the moment he rescues her from the mountains near Snowflake Falls during her escape from her near-wedding. As she settles in the small town with her cousin, intent on making a life of her own, Iris and Mav's paths continue to cross - and soon he is intent on making her his, despite his initial reservations around their age gap. His swoony pursuit makes this short, steamy romance a quick and enjoyable must-read.

Maverick got a call about a woman in a wedding dress wandering around, lost in the woods in the rain. When he went to rescue her, he found out she ran away from the wedding her parents were trying to force her into. She's famous online but hiding away in this small town. He sets her up with his aunt for a job, but he just can't stay away. Will she stay long enough for him to convince her they belong together?
I like that the dog makes another funny appearance.
Iris has always followed her parents' wishes, but when they insist on her marrying someone, she rebels and escapes from her wedding. She goes to her cousins in Snowflake Falls but gets stuck, and Mav, the hot hunky firefighter, comes to her rescue. Iris wants to be independent, so Mav gets her a job with his aunt and sparks fly between them.
It's always a great time being back in Snowflake Falls. I'm loving this new series that Jessa has written, and I can't wait to read the next book.
His Heat is book 2 of the Snowflake Falls Fire Department series. It's a short and steamy, runaway bride, instalove, age-gap, opposites-attract, OTT, curvy girl gets her firefighter romance. Iris is a young woman who runs from her wedding, tired of being a people pleaser and not living life on her terms. Maverick is an older firefighter who finds her and is immediately taken with her. They had great chemistry, and I loved how Maverick helped her build herself up. We also got such a sweet, happy ending. I loved it so much!!.

This book started so well! Iris has run away from her wedding and is lost in the woods, still wearing her wedding dress. Fortunately, she is found by Maverick, a local firefighter. He had thought he would be alone for the rest of his life, but one meeting with Iris changes his future. Iris's future also changes. I love how she fits into the community and the chemistry and spice between her and Maverick. This is a wonderful book!

I loved His Heat Snowflake Falls Fire Department. Mac wasn’t expecting to find a bride in the woods but that’s what he found, Iris. The socialite who ran away from her arranged marriage. Iris doesn’t have experience with anything but turns out she’s a social media genius and she’s helping Snowflake Falls get on the social map and falling for the sexy fireman slash photographer. This is a short and sweet story, and I loved the characters. I would definitely recommend this book.

Jess’s Joy is a talented author. Even though her books are not very long they have all the feels and the best happy ever afters. I want to read to escape the bag things and her books are the perfect way to destress. His Heat was a really good book. Mav didn’t act like he was older than Iris he was your sexy firefighter with a sweet romantic personality. She came from money and was a famous social media influencer. There was sparks between them right when they met. I recommend this book and I loved the first book to!
I mean, this book was only 42 pages long. Only so much can happen then.
Was this an insta!love? Yes. Do I like that? Not usually unless there’s a fated mate involved. But… IDK I didn’t hate it in this? I kinda like that Mav owned his feelings from the first second.
And I DID like Mav. He’s a big reason I kinda wish this could have been longer.
And the premise was fun. Runaway bride found by hot firefighter in the woods. Plus a fun and cute firefighter calendar scene.
A runaway bride, a mudslide, a sexy calendar shoot...
...all in a day's work for the gorgeous firefighter Mav! But as brave as he is fighting fires, he struggles to put his heart on the line, Iris may be perfect and he may know she is his soul mate, but it doesn't stop him being terrified! It's fun, flirty, a little dirty and a lot crazy....all the best bits of Snowflake Falls! I read this on Kindle Unlimited.
I enjoyed reading this book. Once I started reading His Heat, I didn't want to put it down. It is a quick read with plenty of steam. The characters are great and the storyline entertaining. I don't want to spoil this book for anyone so I won't go into details. Please read the book blurb for some information. I do recommend reading this book.

This was such a fun read that brings together escaped bride/social media guru, Iris, and ex military/firefighter, Maverick. He rescues her and can't get over how attracted he is to her. She's equally attracted but she has secrets.... Mav helps her settle into Snowflake Falls and she finds a freedom and belonging that she's never had before. Thankfully, a hot romance with Mav is included and they get their HEA. Good fun!

Iris is in Snowflake to escape her wedding where she meets and falls for Maverick a Snowflake firefighter. I loved how the author brought them together in their first meet and sparks were flying. His Heat is book two in the series and a quick read. The writing is good, the characters are believable, and they got their happily ever after. My only complaint is that I wish the book was longer, other than that a good read. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.
Iris. Left her wedding with sneakers and a backpack of her clothes. Mav. Firefighter who was sent to rescue said Iris who was stuck in the mud. Nice enough to help her to her cousin’s home. The spark is there folks. There is a age gap and photo shoot but this is a really good read. It even has sprinkle donuts.
