When EverAfter pulls Charlotte Weaver and her friends into a dangerous situation, she’s the only one who can save them.
The race is on to find answers before the worst happens and one of their own falls.
After Charlotte heads to the docks in search of the infamous and most mischievous of former lost boys, she realizes her visit with Pan only raises more questions than answers.
Just when their search for knowledge leads them back to Ginger’s forest to find the witch herself, they realize something is very wrong.
The magical realm has other plans, and Alex is at the heart of it.
Their real-world search has now turned into a magical quest, and the human detective isn’t quite prepared.
Finding Charlotte’s missing handbook pages will have to wait because saving the man she’s come to call friend is now top priority.
Detective Alex Taylor’s life hangs in the balance inside of an enchanted cave quite literally designed to be his downfall.
Can Charlotte control her magic and find what she needs to save him?
Okay, I'm a late bloomer who's a big DC comics fan and spent my childhood summers on the Jersey shore but I was born under a wandering star and have lived in different parts of America ever since. That's enough about me. Need to feel inspired today? Looking for something to make you root for an ordinary hero? I'm all about that in everything I write.
I love a good tale that makes me wonder about things and I love a story even more that leaves me feeling inspired or like I'm capable of doing more than I realized. That's my goal with everything I've ever written. Some of the stories I tell involve twisting, turning thrillers and others have a lot of magic.
There's something to be said for getting lost in another world and coming out the other side feeling a little better about yourself or the possibilities in front of you. That's basically the best part of life in a nutshell, no matter what kind of story I'm setting out to tell.
Between the earth tremors that seem to be focussed on all four companions, plus Detective Alex Taylor becoming more and more surlier, and then almost catatonic, until the latest earthquake moves a blue stone, that Charlotte recognises is the same as one she herself possesses, comes rolling out of his jacket pocket!
Charlotte knows that she needs some help, in figuring out why the stone is only affecting the Human in her group, so she goes to her old friend, Peter Pan, for advice, taking a slowly awakening Alex, and Sir Thomas, the cat, and Cat, the dog, with her.
This leads to the decision for all four of them, to go and visit Ginger Haus again, in her magic-infused forest but, as the four companions try to find their way, a storm blows up, that makes them lost in a forest they don't recognise any more.
What happens next, brings all of them into a peril they couldn't have foreseen!
This was a great continuation of Charlotte and Alex's story, and it kept me focussed on their journey into the unknown.
As is usual with a Martha and Michael book, this ended up with a bit of a cliffhanger, so I'm eager to read the next book in the series: Book Six: 'Spells, Wishes, and Dreams', in order to find out what will happen next to our accident-prone explorers!
So I'm off to do just that and, once I've finished this next book, I'll catch you on the flip side, to let you know what I think of it!
Things are really starting to happen in Cincinnati, and Charlotte and her friends need to figure it out fast, because it is starting to affect all the people from Everafter in a bad way. It is also affecting Alex and Charlotte doesn't know how to help him. There is a lot of action, mystery and fun in this book and I am looking forward to the next to see what happens.
Congratulations to Martha Carr and Michael Anderle for this amazing series. It’s extremely hard to find such intexresting and exciting authors who not only write intelligently but also provide top rated plots, characters and excitement in the stories. I’m really looking forward to the next book.
Holy moly poor Charlotte didn't see the wrmying coming for her as she zoned out viewing the backdrop. Poor Cat had protected her during their short trip, but lost her attention too quickly.
Such a beautiful read! This series has all of the above: adventure, intrigue, action, humor and romance! And of course, supernatural beings! I love it!
