This is book two of the Protectorate Warriors Fated Mates Series
The Krilex and Unknown aliens are determined to destabilize the peace on the planet Alara. With the increasing tension between Alaran’s citizens, Orin, a Protectorate Warrior, has chosen to stay on the homeworld to protect the king and queen. Not to mention to be close to the one female that makes him feel more emotion than he’s ever experienced. His mission is to spy on and expose enemy shapeshifters, all the while suppressing his growing connection with Olivia. Despite his unexpected deep feelings, Orin finds it challenging to open up to Olivia, as his fear of rejection consumes him. Will he be able to push aside his insecurities and tell her she is his K’sha, while also protecting her from danger? And if she accepts him, will he be able to keep her happy?
Olivia, a pregnant former school teacher from Earth, now lives on Alara, the home of the Empire and the head of the Protectorate Alliance. Despite her sense of not fitting in the alien world, she is committed to building a future for herself and her child. The moment she laid eyes on the dashing and intense warrior Orin aboard the spaceship Chetok, he has been constantly on her mind. Among all others, he is the one who has genuinely stolen her heart, but he does not share the same sentiment. He seems to avoid her whenever they cross paths. Will she end up having to leave Alara for a human colony? Or will Orin speak to her before it’s too late?
This story is a slow burn, low-angst romance with some steamy bits, and a sweet hero. Adult content. Also, with plenty of intrigue, excitement and hunky aliens.
I enjoyed this book too. The characters are not as strong as the King and Queen but they start to get their strength towards the end. This couple both have significant self worth and abandonment issues. They actually turn out to be what each one needs. The going though, of course, is very slow. They had seemed to click in the last book but.... I won't say more. Must read to see how they turn out. Kathy
I absolutely LOVED the first book in this series and was so excited to read this one! It still has lovable characters, but it seemed a tad rushed, and lacked a lot of the excitement and romance of the first. It was still sweet and worth reading, but the first book set a high standard. Still gonna read the next one though.
- osudový partneři - oba introverti, trapné seznamování a nedostatek komunikace přes rozpaky - těhotenství (není hrdinovo dítě, poznali se když už byla hrdinka těhotná se svým lidkým ex) - útoky nepřátel
Pregnant Olivia was freed by Orin after other aliens kidnapped and enslaved her and other human females. She and Orin like each other but don’t know how to let each other know. Finally Queen Grace lets each one know of their interest and there’s no stopping the romance after that! What a sweet story that ends in a wonderful HEA, a permanent bonding, and the birth of the baby!
