Richard A Snow is a long-time thriller reader whose favorite author is John le Carre. Others include Gene Riehl (retired FBI agent) and Stella Rimmington (former head of MI6 in Britain).
Richard has written one terrorism-based thriller, 'Fire Damage,' which is available on Kindle US and UK, and as a paperback from Amazon and Goodreads (cheaper at Book Depository!!). The novel is based on the Japanese terrorist group Aum Shinrikyo, which released Sarin nerve gas in the Tokyo subway system in the 1990s.
A good first novel set in Australia during the drought and brush fires, which lend an added layer of heat and misery to the story. The characters are believable and because one is a recent American transplant, the Aussie terms get explained to her and thus to the reader, making it easy to get past this possible obstacle for American readers, while also lending a bit of added interest for those who like language. The pace speeds up at the end to a satisfying finish.
A good read. Quite a good effort for a first time author. Set in and around Melbourne, Australia. It tells of a religous/terrorist plot that is soon to take place, told from the perspective of an Australian Intelligence agent and a visiting FBI agent. Go and read it. Have read worst first efforts from authors who are now best sellers. So quick, get in now before Richard is rich and famous.
Richard Snow gripped me from the start. I loved both Cameron and Jodie as well as the premise. It's not often that a debut author grabs me right off the bat, and I couldn't wait to turn the next page. Can't wait for more from Snow. Hoping for a sequel:))
