Another great book by Miranda Stone. Have so enjoyed the previous books in this series and this book was no exception. You will fall in love with the H and h, and the H 10 year old son. He is the cutest, adding smiles to the story. The H and the h were boyfriend and girlfriend in high school but broke up when the h went to college. The H stayed behind and eventually married a nice woman and had a son. She later died from cancer. About the same time the H lost his mother due to cancer. The H and his son are living with their loses and then his father suddenly dies. The h, in the meantime has returned to their home town on the island making contact again with the H and meets the son. She returns to NY where she currently worked as a lawyer. When she gets a call from the H telling her that his father has died she immediately returns to the island. She helps him handle the legal issues and assists him in selling the auto repair shop he received from his father so he can pursue his dream as a sculptor. In the end she works up the deal for the H to have his sculpture shown in NY and on their home town. She stays on the island where their town is and HEA results for the H, h and son.
This is the second book by Miranda Stone that I have read, and once again, it does not disappoint! Charlotte and Jordan were high school sweethearts in Seabreeze Island, Florida. Charlotte has always tried to live up to her parent’s expectations, and Jordan felt like he was never enough for her. Charlotte hurt him badly when she left to work in a big law firm in NYC. Charlotte finds herself back in Seabreeze with her car in need of repair. Jordan is now running his dad’s auto repair shop, so seeing each other is inevitable. Jordan has a son, Cody, who Charlotte can’t help but take a liking to. Charlotte comes to realize that she wants Jordan and Cody in her life, but she is terrified to leave her current life (although it’s one that she’s not particularly happy with). Jordan’s first love is art, and that was because of Charlotte, who taught him about passion and inspiration. Love was lost and now seems completely unattainable. However, Jordan wonders if Charlotte misses their love like he does. Is Jordan’s current dream for Charlotte also her dream? This is a must read to find out if they get their happily-ever-after! I received a copy of this from the author for my voluntary review.
Second Chance With My Forbidden Love is the heartfelt second Chance At love story between Jordan and Charlotte who grew up together and had a loving relationship until she left for college to become a corporate attorney and left Jordan brokenhearted. She returns years later to find Jordan working in his father’s garage and a single widowed parent of a charming ten year old son, Cody. Charlotte had come back to her hometown to visit her dysfunctional parents but finds she and Jordan still have strong feelings for one another. Their heartfelt romance has great characters, class discrimination, steamy chemistry, and the choice between career or true love. I highly recommend this well written romance by Miranda Stone. I received a free arc copy by the author and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
Charolette and Jordan met in middle school, and became best friends. Staying together through puberty and the teen years the friendship became an everlasting love. Charolette basically was forced to become a lawyer due to her uppity parents demands, not being able to deny thier force. As they grew she had a deep desire to protect the innocent from the rich and powerful like her parents. It ripped emotionally a part of each of thier hearts out when she went to New York for school and work. Returning home after years of pestering by her mother her car breaks down and the only garage qualified to repair it is Jordan's. When they meet again the sparks fly, but whether they are good or not has to play out, especially now that Jordan has a son. You can't help but be engrossed turning pages to see what happens next.
Years ago Charlotte was forced to choose between her family and Jordan. She regrets the choice she made and her latest case makes her reevaluate her life. Jordan is a single father who had to give up his dream to help his dad and support his son. Between Charlotte reentering his life, and his father's shocking revelation, he has some major decisions to make. Will they get back together or just get closure? What will she do about her job? How do her parents react to her reunion with Jordan? I received a copy of this book from the author. Review voluntarily given.
Charlotte is given her second chance to choose her man instead of paying heed to her parents. Does she take it and what exactly is at stake? One thing she knows she can’t afford to lose again is her heart…. Jordan hails from a different class and culture but when Charlotte was forced years ago , it broke her heart. This time around he’s a single father who has more at stake than his own heart….. beautiful writing , immersive, compelling story that I couldn’t put down. I read an advance of this great book and I’m leaving my review voluntarily in my own words
I have enjoyed every book I have read by this author. Miranda Stone has a way of developing characters that you grow to think of as friends. This book was no exception. I happily recommend this book to those looking for a sweet second chance at love story.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. My review is my honest opinion and is left voluntarily.
Miranda Stone has given us an interesting romance. Thwarted young love, controlling parents, successful NYC attorney, single dad, auto repair shop, loving father and a cute 10 year old. This story will keep you reading hoping Jessica and Jordan find a solution, but first she must find her backbone. I really enjoyed this book.
This is a pleasant little story. Charlotte’s parents convinced her to leave her first love behind and go to law school in New York. A return home to visit her parents means seeing Jordan again.
Really enjoyed this second chance story! It flowed nicely and kept my interest. After some meddling and controlling parents tried to mess things up twice I enjoyed seeing how it ended.
