Life Is (Was…Will Be?) Good

Indigo Summer has everything she wants: a coveted spot on the high school dance squad, a hot boyfriend (the one and only Marcus Carter) and—her best friend, Jade, is moving back to Atlanta! But why does trouble always have to follow? Jade is suddenly getting too cozy with their good-looking history teacher. And instead of shooting hoops, Marcus is sitting in a courthouse, forced to prove his innocence for something he didn't do. Indigo is feeling the pressure—from the squad, from her friends, from her family. It's time to show everyone—and herself—that she's made of strong stuff.

So Far this is an interesting book. There's this girl name Jade and her parents divorced, but she wants to get them back together. Her mom takes her and her sister to New Jersey to live with their Grandmother. Jade absolutely hates living up there. She thinks that her mom doesn't care about her having start over with new friends and a new school. Jade has this plan to act up in school and get bad grades and everything just so she can move her with dad. Her plans goes well and her mom gets fed up with her behavior, so she moves back with her dad in Atlanta.
Once she gets to Atlanta her bad behavior disappears. She's such a daddy's girl. He asked her about why she was acting the way she was with her mom. She just tries to change the subject. Her best friend ,Indigo, who she hasn't seen since she moved is a cheerleader. She wants to be the best so she watches her weight, but in the wrong way. Once she eats, she throws up her food because she thinks that she'll gain too much weight. She hasn't told anyone about this though, not even her boyfriend Marcus.
Jade is home alone and her dad hasn't shown up yet. But once he shows up, Jade hears this woman's voice along with him. Her dad told her about this lady named Veronica that he wanted her to meet. So this was the day. Jade did not know that he was serious about him dating Veronica. Jade doesn't like her at all. She is still trying to get her parents back together. Her dad introduces them and Jade doesn't show any respect at all.
Trouble Follows is an attention grabber. All teenagers need to read it. Its funny, sad, and full of drama.

I loved this book. It was really good. I loved Indigo Summer. I've heard of her series but this was really good. Jade is getting touched by her teacher Mr.Collins.(Which is really nasty). I think she keeped it hidden to long as soon as it happened she should have ran and told an trusted adult. Indigo was trying to figure out what was going on with Jade but she had family and boyfriend problems to attend. Marcus, Indigo's boyfriend, has been arrested for being in a car with some firends that was smoking marijauna after seeing Indigo dance with another boy. This book was really good and I hope I can read the rest of the series of Indigo Summer.

So imagine if your best friend moved far away with her mom and little sister because her parents had gotten a divorce. And she didn't like it there in New Jersey. So she acts bad so she can come back to Atlanta to see you and her dad!And she acts bad she gets bad grades and when her mom found out she got in so much trouble and she couldn't put up so she gave her a plane ticket to go back to Atlanta. And when she came back her teacher Mr.Collins Would give her bogus detention for something she didn't do that you need to find out. ^.^ So does TROUBLE always FOLLOWS? :/

Trouble Follows
PLOT: Jade Morgan moves back to Atlanta with plans to get her parents back together. But she isn't counting on a father that’s dating someone other than her mother, a molesting History teacher that loves to give her bogus detentions just to get her alone, or a hot Chocolate boy that's feeling her and wants to make his move. Indigo is happy to have her bestie back but worries that she'll get fat and get kicked off the dance team so she turns bulimic. Marcus gets caught up in a scandal when going to a party and catching some other guy pushing up on Indigo. After leaving the party and gets pulled over by cops who find weed in the person's car he's riding in.

MY THOUGHTS:
*Orange juice isn't any better for a diabetic than Kool-aide. Clearly, the author isn't diabetic. You drink orange juice to raise your blood sugar when it's low.
*I just think it's interesting how at the time of this book Indigo's worry is that Marcus won't want a "big girl" but these days all men seem to want is "big girls". Thick is what I see they're all into.

Let's start with Jade. CREEPY! To think about a *teacher* touching you inappropriately. (shudders) Especially when I think of my old high school teachers (or any for that matter). How sick in the head do you have to be to hit on a teenager and you’re an adult? Was I the only one that wondered no matter how lightly this was handled if the teacher did anything other in that room then just kiss her? It's also scary to think about what will happen to Jade when he gets out of prison. That'll probably be a whole different book. I like Terrance so far but then I don't feel like I really know him yet. He really wasn't given a lot of depth. In the beginning phases, it always starts out with all the time texts and calls and attention. So he really hasn't won me over the way Marcus has. But what I like is that there are actually good boyfriends to balance out the dogs in these books. Showing that yes. Not all men are like Mr. Collins the molester and Quincey the player. When it came to Indigo I had mixed feelings. Part of me thought she's 14. She *should* be allowed to dance with other guys. But then part of me thought she didn't think about what she was doing. How would she have liked it if she walked into a party and some girl was grinding all up on Marcus? And then this was a *slow* dance. Even if it's innocent why would you even want to slow dance with another guy other than your boyfriend? That just screams inappropriate and sends the wrong kind of message. If the guy wasn't touching on her booty like Marcus said you know he would have tried. Why would you even give someone the invite if you knew you weren't trying to welcome them to the party? But maybe that's just me. When I'm with someone I'm with someone. True and true. Which leaves Marcus. Still, love Marcus! Love him even more because he sings "Favorite Girl" when he thinks of Indigo and I LOVE that song and wish someone would sing it and think about me. I don't think he over-reacted at the party and went too far. No guy likes to see his girl with some other guy. Like I said above. But then I wanted to get mad when the white cops pulled the car full of young black guys over for a "broken tail-light". Which ok "maybe" Kent did have (but I doubt it because that sounds bogus and like you just wanted to stop a car full of black teenagers) but in this case, I can't get mad because one of them did stereotypically have weed. But I can get a little angry because the cops just looked at all of them and lumped them into the box that if it was a car full of young, black, teenagers on the weekend they were all high. And how stupid was it to test both Tyler and Marcus together? And on top of that not have the cups labeled? I mean what kind of unprofessional bs was that all about? I don't know if the end was realistic where the two parents share the same bed and get back together. It felt *easy* and from what I know it's true there can be slip ups but mainly when parents are done they are DONE! But I guess we will see where this goes!

In the second book, Trouble Follows, of the Indigo novels, Indigo's best friend, Jade, moves back with her dad and Indigo is happy to have her back. Jade wanted to get her family back together but did not know how. She thought that if she misbehaved she would get the attention that she wanted. Instead that only cause her to move in with her dad and be away from her sister and her mother. She joined the school that Indigo is attending and wants to join the dance team along with Indigo, but the history teacher, Mr. Collins, started to keep her after school for detention. Soon, the detentions were used as a way for him to abuse her and keep her from joining the dance team. At first, she was scared to tell anyone because he told her that no one would believe her. Along with Jade having adversities, Marcus got into a sticky situation with two other boys from the basketball team. One of the boys, Tyler, was smoking weed, and they were stopped by the cops. Tyler would not speak up to being the one that was smoking, so they were all arrested for drugs. Eventually, Tyler was caught, and Marcus and the other basketball player was set free. Jade told her mother what was happening at school, and she came to solve the situation and have Mr. Collins arrested. Her mother coming up to solve what happened brought their family back together. Indigo's parents began to have issues and she was afraid that they were going to get a divorce. Even through all these troubles, she was able to find this sense of peace because she had her best friend back, and she and Marcus's relationship turned out great even though it began to become shaky. In the end, Marcus, Jade, and Indigo all worked through their problems and stuck together through difficult situations.

Trouble Follows is the second book to Indigo Summers and it is even better. Indigo's best friend, Jade, comes back and everything is back to normal except for the fact that indigo now has a boyfriend. Indigo and Marcus's relationship has been going good until one day Marcus sees something that almost makes him not want to talk to her again. Marcus, Jade, and Indigo all go through hardships and have trouble getting over them. Marcus has to prove that he is innocent for something that he is being blamed for. Jade and her history teacher are getting a little too close and Indigo has to get her boyfriend back. This book made me wanted to read the next one to it. It was very interesting and kept me wanting to read more just to get to the end. Indigo is a very interesting character and she kind of made me think of myself because she acts like me in some ways. She lets people know whats on her mind and tells people what they want and don't want to hear.
Marcus Carter is also a very interesting charterer because he shows that he loves Indigo. Even though he does not want her to know that yet he shows that he truly wants to be with her and no one else.

Trouble = eating disorders, teacher molestation, and drugs

Book two of the Indigo Summer series. This one addresses eating disorders, teacher molestation, and drugs. Indigo, Jade, and Marcus all get their fair share of trouble. All themes are weaved nicely together. Realistic approach describing experiences from a young person's point of view.
