Setting the Record The Book of Mormon has one to set the record straight concerning the many charges against the Book of Mormon. It sets forth in a clear and engaging style the answers to many of the false charges leveled by critics against the Book of Mormon.
Rather than criticize others for their perception of the Book of Mormon, this book serves as a valuable guide for those who seek to better understand the central purpose of the Book of Mormon -- to testify of Christ.
Most of the information in this book can be found elsewhere, but it is a nice concise presentation and earns a place in my library for future reference.
Just as an aside, it must have been rushed to publication or just not fully proofed as the Table of Contents is missing the final two Frequent Charges and Answers. There are 10, not 8.
This book is a good response to frequent questions and criticisms to The Book of Mormon. The book is wrote by a seasoned member and teacher of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Most of the topics are well known to most members of the church. The responses provide good reference to topics using the teachings and beliefs of the church.
This book is over a decade old so further discoveries on some of the topics covered about archeological evidence of the Book of Mormon and DNA evidence of indigenous people in the Americas have been reported.
Good book. I'd like to go into further detail on some of the topics.
I surprisingly liked this book. I thought it would be a big intellectual debate as to why The Book of Mormon is true and proven. Its first defense is always to ask the reader to rely on God to verify its truthfulness. However, it does clear up some misconceptions about the book and its origins. I'd recommend this to anyone who is curious about those disputes. Ultimately, this book is true: one must read, have real intent regarding, and pray about The Book of Mormon to be certain.
