Cherry Estates #1

The Deep End

This was a quick read with lovable characters. I enjoyed Bryce and how he was so competent and took care of everyone in his everyday life, but gave up that control with Cliff. I liked how Cliff was so kind and generous and loving toward everyone, but especially Bryce. However, a lot happened in a little bit of time. Everything moved so fast and it was pretty unrealistic. Plus, everyone just accepting and fighting for them to be together? Odd to me. I did enjoy Cliff taking care of Bryce though, which, essentially was what I wanted. 2/5 spice levels.

Notes: best friend's dad, daddy, taking care of, rich/poor, billionaire, caring for a sick parent, divorced mc

Cliff knows that his son's best friend Bryce should be off limits, but seeing him in short shorts while cleaning the pool tests his self-control. Cliff is newly divorced after his wife discovered that he preferred gay porn to sleeping with her and is determined to turn their son against him. Bryce comes to Cliff's aid one evening and after a drunken kiss desire blooms between them. Before long Cliff is his Daddy now, and it’s his job to take care of him. But nobody can know about them. When his ex-wife catches them together she issues an ultimatum - end it or ruin them both.

This was a nice story but it was a little rushed in places and very strange in others. The rush was how quickly the divorce happened and just how happy Cliff was to give her everything. The strange was just how well Cliff's son took his relationship with his best friend and how hard he worked to fix it. I'm not convinced that Cliff was much of a Daddy as just someone who liked to spend money to spoil his boy. Easy to read and understand. This was an MM story with mature content and a BSDM-like Daddy/boy dynamic.

Not for me. I really disliked Cliff. When Bryce’s mom went to the ER he didn’t come or even check on them. He waited until Bryce came the next day to work. He didn’t feel like a Daddy to me. He was too scared and nervous. What he said to Bryce also crossed a line.

hot, hot, hot book

I loved this book. It was sexy, sizzling and very well written. I wanted to know more about the ex-wife but it didn’t affect the overall storyline at all. Loved it!!

I got this one for free and thought “why not” despite the lukewarm reviews…

It was good BUT first of all it looses 1 star because of my biggest pet peeve in romance: NO condom used and no discussion about it whatsoever! God it drives me insane when writers do that! I get it in erotica if you just write a sexy story without plot. But in a romance when you’re trying to show a proper relationship being built it’s maddening! Especially since Bryce was not a virgin and had past partners…

Other things that bothered me/ didn’t make sense:
- For a guy who had no relationship with a guy Cliff falls into the Daddy talk really quickly…
- no resolution about the blackmail storyline
- the guy is a millionaire with a mansion but worries about his next door neighbour seeing him over the fence?? I’m pretty sure a millionaire’s mansion in a place like that = privacy & space around your house)
- the blackmail storyline was over the top
- Cliff friend who’s the next book MC is an absolute asshole but we’re supposed to want to read his book next? 🤔
- Cliff’s son behaves like a brat and when Bryce tells him so their conversation never gets anywhere. We don’t see them talk about it after…
- also, he knew about his mom but he never told his dad?? What a jerk.

But the thing that really was too stupid for me to believe was the situation with the mom. First of all we never really learn what happened to her and so, how surgery would fix all her problems. But, as a disabled person myself I find the idea that she would refuse Cliff’s offer to pay for her surgery and help her (before the epilogue) completely ridiculous! You’re telling me that because she refuses to accept charity she’s going to 1) keep suffering like that for the rest of her life? 2) and forces her son to kill himself with multiple jobs (and not going to college) so he can keep paying for her meds and make sure they don’t lose the house?? That’s insulting to this woman honestly. If someone (I know and trust on top of it!) offers me money to get rid of all my pain and helps me get my life back I wouldn’t say “oh no I can’t possibly accept it!”
She was fine with Cliff paying for her son private school but she drew the line at a life changing surgery? Sure 🙄

Another five star read from Blake! I swear his stories and writing just grab me from page 1 and I can’t get enough!

This read was a little different since it didn’t include any type of shifters or magic but it was honestly just as good as his fantasy and shifter books!

I also LOVE to read daddy books, but I am picky..but this one was absolute perfection. It was done SO well and I honestly cannot wait for the remaining books of the series to come out!

Cliff was married to a woman, but years passed; their son Elliot was in his final year of college, and their marriage became strained. Even though Cliff tried to do the right things for his wife and their marriage, it didn't do any good. When his wife caught Cliff browsing about Daddy/Boy dynamics online, the hell broke loose, and his wife filed for divorce. Cliff had hidden his desire toward men for years, and he never acted on it or cheated on her.

After the divorce, his life became dull, and he lost interest in the things he used to love, except for Bryce, Elliot's best friend.

Long story short, they became lovers with the Daddy/Boy dynamic, but they did it on the down low. Then his ex-wife caught Cliff and Bryce in the same bed; she threatened Cliff to break things off with Bryce or she would tell everyone about them. Cliff didn't have a choice except to take Bryce out of his life, and that was the hardest thing he ever did.

He wallowed in pity, but Elliot came to his rescue and told him that his mother, Cliff's ex-wife, was the one who was cheating and revealed that he didn't hate him, urging him to do the right thing to win Bryce back.

It was a good read. I liked their Daddy/Boy dynamic, and Bryce was an outstanding character.

The next book will be about Tim, a playboy who loves to sleep around. With women. He went to his company’s Christmas party and got drunk. He ended up fucking his intern, a man he hates so much.

In this book, Tim doesn't say he has a girlfriend, but on Tim's blurb, the intern says Tim has a girlfriend, but later on, the girlfriend became an ex and asked Tim to marry her. Tim's story looks complicated as fuck! I hope I can enjoy his book.

Bryce is Cliff's son's best friend. He sees that Elliot, his friend, gets back to college after a party that Bryce will need to clean up after as he is also their pool boy. When Bryce is cleaning up the mess from the party and the pool, Bryce hears noises in the house and goes to investigate. He finds Cliff drunk and helps him to bed. While Cliff has always treated Bryce like a son, the booze has loosened his tongue and behavior. Bryce had a crush on Cliff since he was a teen and discovered he was gay so he's not sure how to take Cliff's actions. It is several days before the truth comes out. When it does, will Bryce leave? Will Bryce and Cliff see where it goes? Will they have a future, or will there be too many people against them?

I loved this book. I loved Bryce. He was so mature. He took care of his mother putting aside his dreams. I liked Cliff and his diffidence about him and Bryce. I liked when Elliot has to come home to see to his dad and lets the truth out about his mother. And I loved when Cliff has to face his truth and make it right with Bryce. I loved how Bryce's mother was all Mama Bear with both Cliff and Elliot. She did not mince words. She let them have it with both barrels.

This story had it all--even a villain of an ex-wife, who I hope Cliff takes back to court to get back some of what she took based on Elliot's story.

I look forward to the rest of the series.

Ok so, I really enjoyed this book but, it did have some errors in it. One big one was chapter Twenty-One. It says it’s Bryces’ viewpoint but it’s actually Cliff’s. There were some typos but that’s ok.

Honestly, I wished it were longer. I enjoyed their story but I think there should have been more about Monica. Like him fighting her on her blackmail, or her finding out that he didn’t do as she asked. The whole Monica thing wasn’t resolved. Just felt like it was brushed under the rug.

Also, thought Tim and Kevin should have had more time in the book. They’re his best friends and not much was really said about them or how they felt about Bryce. Other than Cliff mentioning that he slept with a man.

I don’t know, the couple is cute but, the book seemed to need more oof to it. More details of things. It just kind of resolved super quick.

In the end though, I did enjoy. They definitely make a cute couple!

Ben Coffman, who writes as Blake R. Wolfe, Atreus Rosewood, and Eoghan R. Cunningham goes on to my banned authors / dnr list bc:
➪ produces audiobooks using AI "virtual voice" (by his own admission & he seems very proud of this fact..)
➪ using AI translation, essentially scamming foreign, non-English speaking readers with poor quality translations & then having the gross, entitled attitude of having no respect to other languages & cultures
➪ who knows what else he uses AI for (writing, covers.. etc)
➪ i do not support anyone who uses AI in any way, shape or form - AI is stealing. support real artists.

I really enjoyed this book and loved the characters of Bryce and Cliff. They were able to acknowledge their feelings for each other despite the age gap and complications of the friendship Bryce had with Cliff’s son. Both learned things about themselves as they entered their relationship, and Cliff was able to accept his sexuality and overcome his fears in order to be with Bryce. I would have liked some more consequences for Monica, but maybe that will come after the book ends.
Very believable characters and a realistic situation, probably more so today. Men have chosen younger women since forever, today I think it is easier to openly choose a younger man. Also enjoyed the Daddy/boy dynamic, it seemed so natural. Not very long but worth the read.
(Now maybe a book for Elliott, if he is of the same persuasion? Not enough information either way to know for sure about him.)

Enjoyed this!

Normally I don’t care for graphic sex between ANYBODY: I find it usually pretty offensive, repetitive, and boring. But somehow, in this very sweet story, it works! Most certainly because there is a real story behind it all, (and a good one too, that captured my interest and attention), with real caring, warmth, love, and emotion. It was really quite good! I really felt for the two main characters, and was cheering them on all the way! I would definitely try another book by this author!! ☺️

Bryce and Cliff

Finally a daddy/boy story that is just about a relationship dynamic not BDSM. It isn’t really kinky just a nice story and is written well. There are some missing pieces that don’t make a lot of sense or that just skip ahead but overall it’s a good story. There is a blaring edit issue in one of the chapters that says Bryce but it’s Cliff but it was a huge deal. I’ll probably check out the next book because this was a quick read at just over 150 pages.

Loved it!

Wow! I loved this book, stayed up till 3am, cause I couldn’t put it down. I loved Bryce and Cliff, both are wonderful and so good together. This book has a great story line, a beautiful love story, lots of heat and some humour as well. It’s my first time reading Blake’s books and I’ll definitely be reading more.

LOVED THIS book as the first book in Cherry estates. I instantly fell in love with Cliff and seeing him
and Bryce and how they interact was just perfect for me. Didn’t like all the grammar errors, but the storyline itself was a 5 star for me. Excited to see what happens in the second book especially with that insight at the end to what it’s about!

DNF at 55% I tried. It’s light and fluff-ish. But at times the editing feels like it was written in another language and translated into English. I had to stop after I read that Bryce referred to s3x as the “vertical mambo.” Don’t know why, but that was the last straw

Cute premise of the billionaire falling for the pool boy who also happens to be his son's best friend.

Enjoyed this book. It was hot and I liked the storyline and characters. Not too much angst and I look forward to more in this series.

It was written pretty well with just a few errors here and there. If you didn’t download the extra scene, you’ll wanna do that! 🔥 🥵

Too many plot holes. I found “Sagebrush Cowboys” average despite the rave reviews, but after trying this new series, I see it's a pattern. The author's writing style leaves you wanting more—but because of unresolved plots, not excitement.

DNF’d @ 71% I tried so hard to get into this story and the authors writing style simply isn’t to my taste. It’s a shame because several elements are ones I typically love. Not so much this time.
