Marian Wells was born in Utah. She is the well-known author of eleven books, including two novels based on thorough historical research into the beginnings of Mormonism. Marian and her husband live in Boulder, Colorado.

This second book in the series was better than the first. I think the author's mistake was to make two books in the series, when it would have worked much better if it had been written as one book. The first one was unfinished and left the reader hanging. The second book would be confusing if the reader had not read the first book.

This book is sort of geared towards women... but I found it very much like a western. It is Christian (Mormon) historical fiction. I would suggest Mormon women to read it, perhaps - or even men who might like westerns. It is set during that time in the 1800s. I like her writing style. This was her "niche" book - a rare genre for sure, never read anything like this or the book before it. My grade C+ or three stars. Not for everyone... but does tell much about Mormon life over a century ago as does the book that is the prequel to this book.

I loved The Wedding Dress, and With This Ring was just as fabulous. The pain, challenges, heartache, paired against the Love of God is very different than any other historical Christian fiction I've read. Loved it!

Not as good as the first one, but it is definitely a solid conclusion to the story. It is a very realistic presentation of losing trust in something and the hard task of gaining it back.
