On Sunday morning, 10th August, 2003, Campbell Gillespie, a keen long-distance athlete, was out running with two friends from his local running club, when literally, out of the blue, he took a direct lightning strike to the head. He was blasted fifteen feet into the air, and was dead by the time he hit the ground moments later. If not for his running companion, Norman, who broke Campbell’s ribs in a desperate effort to save his life, Campbell would not be alive today. He suffered catastrophic, life-changing injuries, and spent painful years recovering. But throughout it all, Campbell refused to give up. Here, he tells his incredible story of his fight to recover. If ever there was an inspirational story, this is it.
