A classic western novel from Frank Wheeler with non-stop epic adventure and a blend of western romance
Ranch life is the only life for Shane Palmer. He finds solace amidst the whispering winds and golden sunsets. But tranquility turns to turmoil when tragedy strikes. He and his beloved Myla return home to find her brother dead, and her father missing. The corrupt sheriff pins it all on her, then shoots Shane and leaves him for dead.
But Shane survived.
Without his help though, Myla will surely perish. She’s been tried and convicted for two murders she didn’t commit. With the noose tightening around her neck, Shane refuses to let her innocence hang in the balance. But the web of deceit extends beyond the sheriff's office, to Myla's own kin—Jeremiah Greer. The timber baron who orchestrated her downfall for his own selfish gains.
Determined to unveil the truth and deliver justice, Shane enlists the aid of his loyal friend Luke. But as they confront treachery and deceit, danger lurks at every turn.
Can Shane navigate the shadowy corridors of power and clear Myla's name before the gallows claim her? Or will their quest for redemption lead them both to an early grave?
Each novel in the series is a standalone western which can be read out of order.
Frank Wheeler is an American novelist of Westerns. Since childhood, he has always been fascinated with western history. Frank loves sharing his love of western history through his writing that will entertain readers, and has taken great joy in publishing his Westward Saga series.
He currently lives in Texas with his wife, and three children.
Frank Wheeler writes good westerns. Shane and his friends become targets of a wealthy lumber baron. The three friends find themselves accused of several murders they didn't commit. This book is a good read and a fast page turner. You won't be able to put it down. The only criticism of Mr Wheelers books are with the proofreaders. As in the more than 50 of his books that I have read, there are missing and misspelled words. That became a distraction for me. Otherwise I would have given five stars.
A note to the publisher: Use proofreaders who can proofread. Thank you.
No logic seems to be prevalent to support story lines. Attention to detail is almost non-existent throughout most of the book. I do not expect perfection, but....
Really enjoyed this book. It had action, romance and a great plot with interesting relationships and themes. Good vs evil on many fronts that won the day.
