"Stop Overthinking" by Bonnie Ross is more than just a book—it's a treasure trove of tools that has finally given me what I've been searching for to work through decades of depression, anxiety, and low self-esteem. For years, I felt like life kept throwing stones, and I simply didn't have the right tools at my disposal to navigate them. But this book changed everything.
What makes it stand out is its accessibility. It’s an easy read, but don’t let that fool you—this is one you'll want to take your time with and incorporate into your daily routine. The insights and strategies presented are practical, relatable, and effective, making it possible to rewire your thinking and truly transform your life. After going through it electronically, I've decided to invest in a physical copy so I can annotate and revisit it again and again. I know I'll never be the same after this, and I couldn't recommend it more highly.
This book was an excellent collection of information and exercises to help strengthen a reflective practice of self awareness.
While I enjoyed the mix of practical and personal the book felt more like a collection of well organized articles than an actual guide. I think more personal stories and examples from the author and her wealth of experience in this area would have made the material more vulnerable, which can be a powerful driving force in helping readers to connect with this challenging topic.
I enjoyed the exercises and suggestions, I just wanted more from the author. This felt like it could have been written by anyone and I think the personal connection from the author would have strengthened the delivery.

I really enjoyed reading this book. Ross's writing is not only enjoyable to read, but feels like a great big, warm hug. It felt so validating without being patronizing to read about overthinking and how it can impact life. Not only that, but she presents a wide variety of options for strategies to overcome the overthinking. The strategies are evidence-based but she presents them simply and clearly with enough details to visualize what it could look like without being overwhelming. I am so excited to see how things shift as I start applying strategies I learned. If you would like to learn about how to shift your overthinking from an incredibly compassionate source, I definitely recommend this book!

It is amazing how as humans we are chained by the things that seem so minor in retrospect. In the moment they are massive and keeping us from achieving what we really desire. The fact there are so many distractions like cell phones in which we need to find ways to limit their use of we are going to get burden of the mind. Thanks for this books.
