“Wind Of Time” is a 96 pages novella that follows Meg’s return to 13th century Wales many years after the events of “Daughter Of Time”(Prequel). If like me you are reading the entire series in chronological order, you must have previously read “Footsteps in Time” (Book 1) and wondering why Woodbury published a novel that narrates one of the events presented in the first book. Let me explain. Winds Of Time’s purpose in the series is to give readers a closer look into Meg’s journey back to Wales, but this time from her own perspective. As we follow our beloved time traveler, we learn what she felt, her doubts and fears, and which hardships she had to overcome to find her children and Prince Llywelyn. Winds Of Time is what you would call “a tasty snack” for all The After Cilmeri Serie‘ gluttons (And I raise my hand, for I am one), but also a good read for any newcomer to the series if interested in Meg’s personal experience during her journey back to 13th century Wales. Winds Of Time is short, true, and revisits what was already narrated in “Footsteps In Time” (although from David and Anna POVs), but serves its purpose. As always, Woodbury delivers a story that is not only well written but also packed with a few action bits, pretty descriptions, fantastic dialogues, and lifelike characters. There was nothing I didn’t enjoy about this short read, I loved hanging out with Meg as she returned where she truly belonged and I was thrilled to witness her personal reactions the moment she found herself before her children and lover. 4 Stars read!
