At Lyndle Hall nothing is quite what it seems, for a start, the owners son, Nicholas, would seem to be possessed, certainly no medical reason can be found for the mysterious welts that appear on his body.

When a girl disappears from the Hall, a parapsychologist, Audrah is sent to investigate. But Audrah has her own agenda involving psychic John Cranmer who also wants to help Nicholas. But is he genuine....or just a con-man?

Throw in a woman desperate to make contact with her murdered daughter & a recently married young couple who have inherited a cottage near the hall & you have a wealth of characters, making up an intriguing story which will keep you wondering about whether the events that occur are of the paranormal variety or if they will turn out to have a rational explanation.

WOW! HOW GOOD IS THIS?!! I'll tell you how good, twas bloody Awesome!! A Must Read.

I'd never heard of this author, nor of the book title but I sure know of her now. A missing girl, A missing man, nothing is quite what it seems. Lyndle Hall, a decaying manor house in Northumbria, indicates evidence that torments detective Nick Herrol but parapsychologist Audrah Sidow is convinced there is a rational explanation for any event on earth. Both must discover what truth lies at the dark heart of Lyndle Hall.

This is Awesome. Did I already day that? I cannot recommend this Highly Enough. How this author isn't much better known I'll probably never know. I'm definitely gonna be reading her other work.

Wauw.
Laten we daar mee dealen.

It's very difficult to write a review for this book without revealing too much. It's a strange book wherein the author delights in subverting the reader's expectations. She does a superb job of tying disparate plot threads together though and never completely allows the brooding atmosphere to dissipate.
Intriguing but difficult to describe.

Interesting read. I was amazed it was a TV series success but paranormal is in, I suppose.

The novel is a whodunnit with spooky undertones. There's a nice police inspector, the parapsycologist, Audrah - ( why do paranormal people have unusual names?) and a years old mystery as well as the present one.

The Hall is nasty enough, the people there peculiar and spooky and all is explained in the end. Not to my satisfactoin though!

The novel is well written, the title very clever, the characters interesting, but it's not my sort of book.

Readers who love paranormal or spooky mysteries will enjoy this. I refuse to add a star rating because I don't wish to affect the author's rating. There is nothing wrong with the book, the author did a good job, and many people have enjoyed it.

Stunning! Exactly what I would expect from Julia. She's an extremely gifted writer. Each chapter has its own existence that seems detached from the body of the story, but comes together to prove it's all integral to the ending. I'm only disappointed that more books haven't been released by this author. She definitely rivals Patricia Cornwell and Alex Kava at crafting a chilling psychological tale.

Interesting but ultimately unsatisfying. About a sceptical parapsychologist.
