Max's life on Marzolie, the ancient world of Mars, was marked by its deep-seated misogyny and internal conflict. Just as Mephisto’s forces launch a devastating invasion, Max is deceived into escaping to Gaia (Earth) by none other than his younger sister. Unbeknownst to him, he is the UnMaker's oldest, and likely most evil, son, with a destiny intertwined with darkness.

Kalion Amarys, former Yaragru princess and a formidable immortal, is tasked with escorting Max back to the war-torn planet. As she grapples with Max's disdain for her gender and him going through maturity, she now finds herself conflicted by her own emotions. Max's demands for her to abandon her immortal duties and bear strong sons challenge everything she stands for.

Max, meanwhile, has grand plans. He wants to save his planet, marry Kalion—despite bizarre racial quirks, such as growing flowers from her head and being yellow. Yet, he’s determined to make a few changes to her, including overcoming her pre-selected mate, starting a family immediately; since motherhood would make her forget her friends and obligations and her independent adventuring ways.

As Max and Kalion clash over their differing goals, their journey becomes a test of endurance and trust. With Mephisto's threat looming, can they overcome their differences and find a way to return to Gaia together? Or will their quest end in ruin, like so many before them?

I loved this book. Katherine was a great breakout character. And the way she dealt with Max was amazing, I wouldn't have thought he would become likeable but he did.

I really liked seeing all the immortals. I was sad about the twins but I'm sure we'll be seeing more about them.

Overall I liked the book. I would have liked to see more about sandrianna and the rest but I did enjoy the interaction between Marcus & his daughter who we got to know more about.

The author wrapped this one up really good and still left us with a cliff hanger. Can't wait for the next one.

Finished this last night. Couldn't even put my Kindle down. Kalion is major badass 💅🏻

Mother F#$&ing Mother Nature!

This is a slowish burn romance, which is fine. H
There's also a hiccup during the first spicy scene lol. Our immortals are now grown af. Anslina (the so called heavy hitter of the Multiverse) helped facilitate an escape from his home world. If you read the prologue in the first book, it'll make sense now.

We meet Max right before they leave, honestly we don't like Max. He's a douche who essentially hates women, all the men on Marzolie (heh, Mars) do. He gets to earth and he's a huge prick. He's gotten on everyone's nerves, even worse he's draining the world soul. So Anslina says he's needs to go back to Mars... What?! 🙄

Kalion, our Yaragru princess is all growed up, and she's pretty much the energizer plug for the universe. She's enlisted to help him safely go home. Uhhh ok 😏

They go back, and his world is all crumpled and yucky. Expected since Mephisto had his army tear the place apart. Max seems to think he is still gonna be able to take the world back. I will admit, this confused me because he's like one dude to like thousands of things. But I trusted the process.

We got to spend time with Marzolie, we even saw a reappearance of Eudora and really got her back story in. Also, trigger warning for her assault that happens towards the end as well as previous mentions of it about midway into the book.

Overall, I love the concept. We see the beginning of humans on earth, find out humans came from mars. Alot of common Christianity as well as Greek Mythology is thrown in without being religious. We get to see several different races and species, like a close up on banshees and their community. There's two super spicy scenes, and the birth of lilith and lucifer.

I honestly can't wait for the third one. Aside from some confusion on who Max really is (and it's wrapped up well) I loved the action scenes. Adam and Eve at the end were not what I expected... Oh and the the epilogue left me like DAMN! 👌🏻
