Punch, werewolf pack leader and head of security for Pit of Hades Fetish Club, is guided by purpose, love, and loyalty. It's been that way for centuries. When acquaintances from his past come to town and challenge each of these areas in his life, will Punch be able to control his inner beast? During this Tribulation period, should he even have to?
*Since Punch was the most requested character for a book of his own, this one is for fans of The Narcoleptic Vampire Series. Dicey's standard warning regarding sex, violence, and profanity applies.*
Like most of the novellas in this series, this novella revolves around one of the secondary characters in The Narcoleptic Vampire series. This time it is Punch the werewolf security chief who has problems we never knew about (and a couple we saw coming) but I was glad we got a much better picture not only of Punch but also of his mate Fire who had been a bit of an enigma up until now.
For a short novel the plot was a bit multifaceted between trying to recover something stolen and dealing with a host of personal issues that question his ability to do the job of providing security for the supernatural community hidden away under the protection of Franco.
For me this was probably one of the best stories in the series, the writing was tighter, the story compelling from beginning to end and the split between action, introspection, and passion was almost perfect.
Bottom Line: Possibly the best told story in the series and I read it all in one sitting and loved it, highly recommended, can be read without all the background of the series but I would not recommend that since you miss a lot and would probably be confused with a lot of history mentioned several times.
This was a novella? No way! This felt and read like a full novel. From the first word in the first chapter to the last word in the last chapter I was drawn back into The Nacroleptic Vampire World. It took me moment to catch up to the events in the series because I read the third book sometime ago but that didn't hold back my enjoyment.
This book is told by Punch, the oh so sexy wolf shifter bouncer that really needs to be real so I can drool all over him. Oh wait... sorry I digressed. When a party goes wrong, Punch needs to step up and be the alpha leader. Can he outsmart the baddie in the book or will he fail? While doing this Punch has to do something that seems impossible. He needs to ignore his lust for Willow.
In this book we see the struggle that Punch faces every day. His insecurity; his need for control; what he has to go through to obtain this control; his love for both Fire and Willow. One interesting side affect of this story is that I learned more about Fire and the other dragons. Now I see myself rooting for Punch's and Fire's HEA.
This may be my favorite book in the series so far.
Where there's smoke ...there's fire and this novella had it! I was super excited to hear that the 'Queen of Steam' (AKA, the spectacularly talented Miz Dicey Grenor) was writing a book from sexy Punch's POV. Punch is one of my favorite characters in the Narcoleptic Vampire Series and I'm happy to say that Wolf's Fire didn't disappoint. This book had everything in it: sexual tension between Punch and Willow, action, sex, and plenty of drama. I was pleasantly surprised by Punch's wife this go-round. I used to not like her character but she is definitely starting to growing on me. I loved the story line of Wolf's Fire and could not put it down once I started reading. It was action packed and quick paced. The only complaint I have is that it ended! I really missed the characters and wanted the book to go on forever. Wolf's Fire is a fabulous book written by a fabulous author and I honestly can't wait to read the next installment. Thank you for another amazing read, Miss Dicey! I'm recommending it to all my friends
Wolf's Fire is the second novella in the Narcoleptic Vampire Series but it read and felt like a full length novel, definite value for money for those who feel cheated by the smaller books in a series.
Punch's view point was sought after by all as the second vip in Willow's life and it didn't disappoint. There was so much depth and turmoil to Punch that I didn't have a clue about and the glimpses into his past and future were sensational. We now know his destiny for the apocalypse is dimensional and he plays a more important role than anyone first thought which will be exhilarating to read about in book 4.
I don't want to divulge too much as spoiler reviews can be devastating and it's better to experience it yourself.
Dicey is more than just an author but is a friend and she truly gets her readers involved in her work by even letting then help pick this cover! This adult series isn't for everyone but step out of your comfort zone and experience something new.
Just finished punch's book. Know so much more about him then he's just a werewolf. The man is loyal, protective, a great lover, and truly wants to be a good man. His struggles with Fire/Willow and his duty to Hades/Franco weigh heavily. Punch's back story is one of pain and slavery. His old "master" O is a piece of work. Great ending with the showdown with Rafe, Cindy's ex back to life looking for revenge. Can't wait for the next Willow book!
I'm a huge fan of the narcoleptic vampire series Ms. Grenor is so good at giving real passion in her characters that you just can't put her books down. Punch is a amazing hero, his character arc felt like a roller coaster ride that I thoroughly enjoyed. I can't wait for the next adventure in the series.
The Good: The cover models body (yummy!), the characters, the writing, the plot.
Once again, in writing Wolfe’s Fire Grenor has delivered a paranormal book like no other. The book had me laughing out loud at some of the antics the main characters got up to. The book is action-packed, with the love between Willow and Punch heating up the pages to a feverish pitch. For lovers of the paranormal, this book delivers on all levels. Highly recommend.
I need more.....Of Punch’s sweet body. I love the series and I can't wait to find out who will be Willow's Baby Daddy in the series. My vote is Punch or Crazy Rehm. What a child these characters would make.
A simple recruitment party turns dangerous when an unidentified gang hold Willow, Punch, and their group at gun point. With little chance of escape they need to work out exactly why and by whom they are being threatened.
We really get to know Punch in this book and see his inner torment, he loves Fire deeply, but he needs and wants Willow too, he constantly has to control himself and has a quite horrific ritual of learning how to keep himself in check. He has to make some difficult decisions and can’t do right for doing wrong. This is a trying time for him and he is having a really hard time both physically and emotionally while wanting to do the best for Hades and for himself.
As with all Dicey Grenor books this is for the over 18’s and those not feint of heart. There is sex and it is hot, in more ways than the obvious, but the book isn’t driven by the sex. It’s exciting, action packed and emotional too. Willows destiny is written and I want what is predicted to happen, to happen, even though it goes against Punch’s moral code. I can’t wait for the next instalment, it promises to be very exciting especially if it goes where I want it to.
