Healthy eating is easy if you make up the macros.

Another reviewer pointed out that the recipes include protein counts but not total calories. I was pleasantly surprised to see that the back of the book had not just calorie counts but also macros; I was less impressed by the fact that those numbers were total BS. Tofu pancakes with at least 1 tbsp of oil per serving? 5g fat in the book. Soba noodle salad with at least 2-3tbsp oil? 16g fat. And of course the protein counts never quite add up either; maybe the author just used tofu brands with more protein than mine, but given the other numbers, I’m skeptical.

It stinks, because I want to like this book. I’m not scared of soy, and I want to have plant-based meals without relying on powders to hit my macro targets. But despite having some decent recipe options in here, the whole idea behind the book is hitting particular nutrient goals, and in that regard it’s inaccurate at best and outright dishonest at worst.

Some useful info at the start of the book. Looks like some good recipes. I have yet to make any hence 4 stars. I will update and re- review when I have more to review.
There are protein counts on each recipe and then at the back of the book there are calories etc. However, as mentioned in previous comments they do seem a little unreliable.
The book looks well laid out and I’m looking forward to cooking from it.

Some good prep tips and nice recipes for getting more plant protein. Definitely looking forward to trying some of these.
However reduced a star as some small errors in the recipes, for example talking about preparing Butterbeans and then referring to them as chickpeas in the recipe (copy & paste errors).

Though well presented, there are some errors and typos within recipes you need to navigate.

There are also some pretty mid tasting recipes in here and (in our opinion) significant overuse of nutritional yeast… like… buckets of it.

Like any cookbook, try everything that takes your fancy and then enjoy, adapt or scrap them!

Some interesting recipes and good food. But protein counts without calories counts aren’t all that helpful. E.g The Notella smoothie (pg 48) looks tasty and protein count is impressive (32g). But when I went online and calculated the calories (because they’re not listed) it’s over 725 calories — that’s way more than a meal, which makes the protein count less impressive.

Lots of protein in these recipes. Most need to be tweaked a bit, but still worth reading. The "Marry Me Lentils", with some tweaking, were out of this world. The granola bars, cookies and other nutrient-dense snacks were good, but needed adjustment (fewer seeds, more dried fruit, use a real egg if your diet allows, consider adding oatmeal to the granola bars.)

It’s an amazing book!
The introduction about vegan food and how your body needs protein and breaks it down is super useful!

The recipes are just AMAZING! Quick, simple with real and easy to find ingredients. They have an Italian taste that I love !

I’ve been following Gigi’s work for a while and she’s incredible!

Interesting ideas for vegan high protein recipes which are definitely worth the try however this is not my favourite cookbook ever. I might change my mind, but Pamela Anderson has sat the ladder quite high with her cookbook so ever one after is always a tiny bit disappointing.

This book is fantastic! Delicious recipes, clear descriptions, beautiful pictures, and the nutritional content at the beginning is also very helpful. Gigi is really a great cook and very creative with food. Everything I made so far turned out really delicious, can't wait to try more!

Choosing butter bean blondies as a jumping-off point for this was probably a mistake. I'll need to give this book another try.
