Show Me Your Teeth

Rate this book
A little over a year after the company retreat that saw the end of the Beyer Corporation, Anna begins to feel a net closing in. She wants to leave Dublin before hunters catch up with her and Michaela, but the familiar twinge of hunger adds a layer of difficulty she’d thought she’d dealt with.
Not only that, but Anna reconnects with an old friend at the wrong time, drawing the attention of hunters.

And, at long last, the woman she can’t get out of her head.

Reconnecting with Saira seems wonderful on the surface, but it comes with a price. Anna finds herself firmly on the hunter’s radar and the only way out seems to be a path no vampire has dared tread in a century. But Anna isn’t one to back down from a fight, and she’ll be damned if she doesn’t destroy them first.

The thrilling sequel to We’re All Monsters Here, with more twists, sapphic romance, and a touch of found family.

As a child Amy loved reading and writing, so naturally she graduated with a degree in biomedical science and has worked in a microbiology laboratory ever since. Her passion is writing, however, and she turned back to it during her years at university. When she is not writing about surviving apocalypses, vampires feeding on the rich, exploring space, and conquering magic--all celebrating queer love-- she can be found reading or playing games about those very things.

She lives by the sea with her wife and their eighteen year old cat, who still runs around like a kitten.

Amy is the author of the VAMPIRES trilogy WE'RE ALL MONSTERS HERE and SHOW ME YOUR TEETH, with book three due 2025, and the SURVIVORS duology, SURVIVORS and THE SAFE ZONE. She has more works in progress.

Blood-soaked read!
A well-written, savage and even enjoyable book #2. Good supporting cast and nice chemistry.
This series might continue because of the cliffhanger.
Highly recommended book and series!

Amy Marsden’s Show Me Your Teeth, the second installment in her vampires series picking up over a year after We’re All Monsters Here.

In Show Me Your Teeth, you could see the shift of focus from gore to more nuance in Anna’s relationships and emotional stakes. The new characters are a welcome addition and a highlight for me, balancing tension, chemistry, and the weight of their shared history.

With its mix of high-stakes action, dark atmosphere, compelling character drama and lots and lots of gore, Show Me Your Teeth is a must-read for fans of character-driven, fast paced vampire fiction.

Book Title: Show Me Your Teeth
Author: Amy Marsden

Things I loved:
* Sapphic Romance
* Enemies to lovers
* Found family
* Tension filled romance
* VAMPIRES

Review: Okay, I had been looking forward to reading this for a long time, especially after loving the first book so much! I just wanted more and more of Anna and Saira. I have mixed feelings about this book, I’d say the first 30% of the book is really good, I loved reconnecting with the characters and seeing where Anna and Michaela had ended up, the introduction of Anna’s old friend Collette and Gracie. The reunion of Anna and Saira was delicious. You could feel the tension, I was eating every drop up.

Then the middle part of the book happened and it felt, meh. Lack luster. I think this book suffers from being a novella because scenes didn’t feel like they fit well into the time line, some parts were over detailed and others were cut short. The author also put alot of political statements in this book and it made it quite jarring to read. I didn’t enjoy how it portrayed men to be horrible people continuously. I have never liked grouping a whole gender together and villainising them. Individual people are the problem, not a gender. So this book felt like a feminist men hating slap in the face.

Once you get past that though, the tension between Anna and Saira bubbles over and their coming together was well done. I loved that Saira took charge. The final 30% of the book was full of action and gore and was everything I wanted and expected and knew this author was capable of. It honestly made up a lot for the middle section. I didn’t see the ending coming at all! I loved the found family vibes between the 5 of them, and it really does make me excited for the final book in this novella trilogy.

Beware Vampires afoot: blood, gore, action
I thoroughly enjoyed #2 of Marsden‘s Vampire series (and be advised to start with #1 where it all started). The content warnings at the start sum it up nicely: sex, blood, violence, death - add to this a whole lot of action which had me turning the pages as quickly as possible. The setting in Dublin added an authentic vibe.
I loved the big dose of enemies to lovers - when the hunter, Saira, and the cunning vampire, Anna, meet yet again.
The main character, Anna, a 500 year old vampire is painted a delicious shade of grey: yes, she kills people to get her blood dose, but she kills mostly the bad guys (mostly though - remember: dark grey). Marsden really lets it rip when we get to participate into a grey-dark joy of giving the sexual predators and scumbags of Dublin their bloody due. Oh the temptation to cheer along!
And the righteous hunter on her holy quest to exterminate all vampires? Well, you have to read this installment to find out about her. Let‘s just say: I didn‘t see this coming.

I received an ARC from the author. The review is left voluntarily.

The first book was enjoyable, but this one is so much better. There's a lot less gore, and a lot more focus on the characters, relationships, and the reuniting of Anna and Saira. Hunters and Vampires are always a dangerous mix, and this story is no exception, especially with the chemistry between the two of them.

Highly enjoyable and engrossing, it was a hard book to put down, the conclusion very satisfying. Very much looking forward to the third installment.

A fun, more developed -than its predecessor- story. Again, Marsden knows how to draw the line between serious and comical writing.

This book has less gore and the characters are more developed. I’d love to see what these ladies could do in a full length novel.

This one was slightly better than the first one, we get to see a friend of Anna's that had visited the same country as her with another vampires. This is a book about empowering women connections and helping each other in difficult times. It sucks that it's only one point of view, from Anna's and that we can't see what goes inside Saira's head. Maybe we would get more stuff on hunters, idk. I flew through this book and that's always a good sign for me, but let's be honest in this one is more blood and violence, so if that triggers you I don't recommend this. And we also end up on a cliffhanger that shows that there will be another book, the last one of this trilogy. When? I have no idea. Absolutely love the relationship between Saira and Anna, they are so cute together. Although this book isn't as spicy as the first one, this is about discovering new things about yourself (am I referring to the insane ending? Maybe, but you have to read this to know what I mean). And my rating is 3,5 ⭐ rounded up, because I was enjoying myself while reading this. (Kill those bastards, Anna)

4.5 stars. Sequel to We’re All Monsters Here and it takes place one year after that first book’s ending. Anna and her crew are now in Ireland and Amy is really ready to get out of there before something terrible happens. In walks Saira. Saira was sent to hunt them but doesn’t and I liked the reunion scene between them. I love the way that Marsden writes the tension between them. They have such great chemistry. This book was just a bloody and action packed as the first and I thought the twists and turns were a whole lot of fun. I hope this author keeps writing in this series because I’m so obsessed with it and these characters.

I was lucky enough to receive an ARC copy of Show Me Your Teeth in return for an honest review.

I loved the first book, and as far as sequels go I really enjoyed this one! The story is well written and the characters are lovable and multifaceted. This isn’t your typical enemies to lovers trope. More like enemy lovers? Enemies with benefits? Either way I totally ship Anna and Saira! I also enjoyed the witty banter and found family feels all through the story! Fingers crossed for this series continues!

I tried to enjoy this. To be honest I read maybe half of it and then started skimming. I wanted to know how it ended but every conversation felt like something not a single living person would say. Like pouring your heart out and revealing your deepest secrets to someone you just met or met only once before like a year ago. There's a lot of suspending your disbelief here. A LOT.

Also funny how the main character was SO worried about 3 hunters last book but now fighting off 17 (with a little help)? No problem.

Lesbian vampire and vampire hunter? Yes, please!

We're back with Anna and Saira and this is just as much of a bloody good time as the first in the series. I like that this doesn't shy away from the violence, gore, and moral ambiguity of being a vampire. Anna doesn't have any shame about who she is and I love that for her. It made for a very refreshing and entertaining read.

Those Incredible Monsters

Book 2 is a fantastic continuation of book 1 and I loved it just as much. Well, I possibly loved it more. I do think it's important to read book 1 first ... at least to truly appreciate the complete story. It is complete but I can definitely feel a hope that we get more, a book 3.

This was excellent and a wonderful next chapter to Anna's story. It was exciting, the action was great and the character work was spot on. I loved the new characters introduced and the bigger plot elements were surprising.

I also appreciated the more balanced approach to the gore in this one, which was my only critique of the first book. Excited for book 3!

Oh Wow..

What an amazing book. A 5🌟 all the way. Is there a book 3 to follow up after the transition? Action, rollercoaster emotions, 1 semi steamy scene and hardcore lady punishments. 😉 Don't miss out.

I’m not sure what it is about these books, but I’m hooked. They are the right length for what I needed to read and I love all the characters. I really hope there is a third! I love love love Colette and was glad we saw more of her and Anna’s relationship.

Anna and Michaela are in Dublin, Ireland as Anna tries to train the younger vampire. And a old friend of Anna's, Collette, is in town, with her own group of young vamps.

Then the hunters turn up.

Good read, solid follow up to book one.

Just as good as the first book. Reading it felt like going back to a friend. I really enjoyed this because I love the writing style. It felt very conversational, and it was heartfelt and funny. Even in amongst the vampirism and murder there was a lot of heart. The characters are great fun. Can’t wait for the next installment.

This was a whirlwind of emotions and morals, I loved it!! Pleaaaase bring out more!!

This is wrote in such a way that's so easy to read and you devour it quicker than Anna can drink blood. The pace is perfect and some of the lines written in here are litteraly poetry to me.
More!!

Anna is perfect, her "morals" and inner thoughts made me giggle so much. Anna is such a fun MC and to see her take on a mentoring role and cope with all sorts of chaos in this book truly made me love her more.

Colette I would love to spend a day with, this quirky free spirit who can be dramatic and fiercely passionate is the kind of woman everyone wants in thier corner. I love that she is herself and is proud to be herself. I love that with clothes/scents/hair she plays with gender expression freely.

The idea of Colette, Saira + Anna is so refreshing and so needed! Love will outlast everything, even time - so when immortal what happens? You keep falling in love all over again! No jealousy just fierce love and loyalty and wanting what's best for your partners or lovers and thier own happiness and sexual health. I can't wait to see the bonds and love and loyalty that grows between these three women. Best Early Pride present ever!!! 📖🏳️‍🌈💗

This was a good sequel, I was expecting for there to be some more entries in the series before Anna and Saira's romance developed like it did, but perhaps that was just me wishing for more sequels.
