Gracie Billings is at odds with her life on Carson Hill Ranch. Having shown up with her sister six years ago as a scrawny, needy child, she has grown into a beautiful girl and a capable horsewoman. But everywhere she turns, she's thwarted in her attempts to contribute like a real cowboy.
Seamus Carson has practically grown up with Gracie and has always seen her as the kid sister that fate denied him. When he begins to realize that there's something special about Gracie, his fears of his family's reaction to the news keep him from seeing her as anything more than the sister he's always picked on.
Will Seamus and Gracie admit their feelings for each other, or will they continue to deny themselves until the day it almost tears the family apart?
I am a shameless romance addict with no intentions of ever kicking the habit. Growing up I dreamed of entertaining people and taking them on fantastical journeys with my acting abilities, until I came to the realization as a college sophomore that I had none to speak of. Another ten years would pass before I discovered a different means to accomplishing the same dream: writing stories of love and passion for addicts just like me.I have always loved romance stories and I try to tie all the elements I like about them into my writing.
Some of the middle children of Carson Ranch have grown up and are experiencing love and in this well narrated story we catch up with Seamus Carson and Gracie Billings, a strong and capable equestrian, who is now at odds with her life on Carson Hill Ranch since she showed up with her sister six years ago as a scrawny, needy child.
Since Gracie was first introduced in the books I wanted to hear her story. Thank you for giving her the story she deserved. It was also great to visit everyone in the family and see how it had grown.
I continue to enjoy the Carson family saga. This story focuses on Seamus and Gracie finding their way to each other. It was definitely not smooth sailing. Gracie is no push over and Seamus had to learn his work cut out for him. They are the perfect couple.
I was waiting for Gracie's book. Being 6-1/2 years since she arrived on the ranch, it was her time to shine. Gracie arrived on Carson's ranch at the age of 13 with her older sister Miranda, now married to Casey. Gracie has always been treated like the little sister, but never felt like she totally belonged. Now grown up, she is having even a harder time finding her place. Seamus, the 5th Carson, has fallen for Gracie, but is unsure how to reconcile the "sister" with the woman. I enjoyed this story, though at times felt Gracie was just being difficult, or slightly immature. I was very glad when Seamus finally took the bull by the horns and declared his love. I am curious to see how it will play out in book 6. This story also included much of the rest of the family, births, pregnancies, ranch life, life adjustments. The Carsons have become part of my family!
Valerie Gilbert is awesome as the narrator. I am so glad she has be the narrator for this series giving it continuity.

This was a great listen Gracie has always been one of my favorite characters. I can understand why she feels she is in left field not knowing where she belongs if anywhere. The author brings back all the characters that we have come to love but still it is a little different then the past books in this series. The plot is wonderful and really holds your attention about a two people who grew up more or less together overcoming the issue of being almost like brothers and sisters. On top of that they have to overcome the rest of the family issues. Each brother feels like Gracie is their little kid sister, no one is good enough for her and they will kick anyone’s tail that tries to take her away from them. Which leads to a big issue when their brother Seamus sets his sights on her. The author takes you through the joking and picking stage and how much that upsets Gracie. Of course they must admit they love each other that bring issues of their own. It really was a wonderful listen with a wonderful narrator.
This narrator is one very talented person giving a compelling listen with such passion you can feel through her voice. She really brings these audio to life giving you a highly entertaining read as she puts emotion into the audio you can feel the pain, sorrow, sadness, joy, happiness through her tones. Her performance is outstanding as she pulls you in taking you away through the excitement and danger that comes. I love her many different voices from her sexy strong males to her sassy strong women. She pulls deep inside herself giving you a compelling listen that will leave you chuckling and at times laughing. She knows how to hit the correct tones really keeping the listener invested as they wait for the next shoe to drop. There are not any background noises and no breaks were taken that I could tell. You can picture the story unfold through her voice and her tones. You have no trouble knowing who is talking or what they are feeling. What this narrator brings to the table is a very clean, crisp, clear audio you get lost in.
I did think the ending was a little rushed I would have loved to have seen how the one brother took the news once the moves had been made. The ending is really wonderful it will put a smile on your face. I really enjoyed meeting up with past characters seeing who has had children and where their lives has gone. This is a wonderful family with normal issues. There are land issues which they could lose some of their land along with other issues that is spin in a wonderful tale that will really keep you attention. I really like this authors writing style is it very well written.
I love this series and was excited to see when book 5 came out but I wish it would have waited a bit. The editing on this book seemed rushed. There was so many missing word or incorrect words used in this book that it looked as if the editor was asleep when it was reviewed. (I just hope she didn't pay for an editor..if so, I would want my money back) The alpha/beta reader in me cringed every time I hit another snag. Each error interrupted the flow of the story and I had to go back and re-read to get back into the story.
On a positive note, I do love when a book continues a story and includes characters from previous books. I wish there had been more included. It would have made this book longer. It was a very quick read and ended too quickly.
This was supposed to be about Seamus and Gracie but very little of the story was actually about them. It was more about the ranch and Miranda having a baby. I wanted more about Seamus and Gracie. I wanted to see their interactions and we really didn't see much of it. There is so much more that could have been included to make this a more complete read. Maybe the author has plans in the next book to elaborate on their relationship but this one just left me wanting.
I will continue to read this series, but I hope she takes time with the next one to allow me to get my monies worth.
this is book 5 in the Carson Hill Ranch series. Each book is about a different brother and his choice as far as career as well as the hunt for the perfect woman to marry and raise his family. And this book it not as clear-cut as the rest we tend to have more real life events happen which makes the book seem more realistic. I quite enjoyed the tornado scene in the tension of looking for everyone and also the positive outlook of rebuilding. I have to say I absolutely love this series based on the narrator. Valerie Gilbert has such an amazing talent at giving each character their own voice and style which she continues to build on through each book. overall this is a great series if you're looking for a life lesson on ranching or if you're looking for the classical Romance, this book is not rated R. it is the true love fairy tale type story that still has reality thrown in.
Seamus and Gracie, the male and female, have known each other forever, at least it seems that way.
For the longest time Seamus has looked at Gracie as the younger sister that he never had, until one day he sees her in a different "light" and wonders if his family would reject him having amore meaningful relationship with Gracie.
I thought that the two main leads were sweet together and made a perfect match.
This story was good but I wish it was just a little bit longer and had more page time with Seamus and Gracie, other than that, this book was a good addition to the series.
Valerie Gilbert did well with the narration.

Gracie / Seamus - this story was not as good as the other ones. Gracie came to the ranch with her sister in book 1 and was immediately welcomed into the family as the little sister. Now she is all grown up and still trying to prove her cowboy skills. Everyone says she is capable, but they still treat her differently. Seamus can't wrap his mind around the fact that Gracie is now a young woman and she is NOT his little sister. He can't figure out the drive in him to keep her safe and out of harms way. What he is feeling is more than brotherly love but he doesn't know how to show her.

Wishing for Love Amelia Rose
After years living on Carson Hill Ranch, Gracie is all grown up. Seamus begins to realize this, but doesn't know how to proceed, because he always picked on her like a little sister. It's fun to watch as kids grow up, but not know how to show it, as other things change too.
I love this series!
The narration was well done. The characters were well portrayed. Valerie Gilbert gives a great performance.
The quirky banter of the characters made this novella a humorous read. It was only a matter of time for one of the younger Carson's to notice Gracie, just took longer than I thought it would (adult as opposed to a teenage romance). The 1st woman = last woman for choices has run a little repetitive though.
It's time for one of the younger twin sons to fall in love. Who knew it would be with someone so close to the family? It's hard to romance someone that you've grown up with and teased and tormented for so long.
This was a good story - as they have all been - and it's not til the very end that you have any hope for this young couple!
