This is a hockey, Mafia, second chance romance. Francesca is back after two years away. She missed her hometown, her family and her ex boyfriend, Rhett the most.

I'm not a big fan of Mafia fiction but was told in a way to make the violence not as intense.

I wasn't sure if I liked the characters at first but they grew on me.

I would give this 4.5 stars.

I really enjoyed this. The premise was what made me want to request this book.

Francesca left Rhett because she didn’t feel it was right to stay in the relationship while keeping secrets from him, so she left. Now she’s back in Savannah and taking the job of Director of Public Relations for the Savannah Sharks hockey team. The team which has not long been bought by her father, well known Mafia boss Arturo Marino.

I really love hockey romances and mafia romances. This was the first book that blended the two. I think it blended the two quite well.

I really enjoyed Francesca as a character. Especially with her trying to get her father and brother to let her in on what was going on and they wouldn’t.

Rhett was interesting. I wasn’t entirely sure what to expect from him but as the book went on, I really loved how protective he was of Francesca.

There were a few twists in the book that I never saw coming.

If you like mafia romances, hockey romances, morally grey characters, second chance or brothers best friend, then you might enjoy this.

Lack of communication and assumptions are the death of this relationship between Francesca and Rhett. Francesca’s family is part of the mafia and she believes that Rhett doesn’t know anything about her family. So she leaves for a few years so she doesn’t bring him into her world. Rhett is a great hockey player and Francesca doesn’t want anything to mess that up. Rhett on the other hand is best friends with her brother Joey and has been brought into the family while Francesca was away at college. Rhett never understood why she left, and never really got over her.

When Francesca comes back to work for her father who now owns the hockey team Rhett and her brother play on, let the fireworks begin! Francesca never got over Rhett either but did have a boyfriend back in college who turns out to be someone else! With Rossi’s claiming war on the Marino family, secrets start to come out and some truths are revealed.

The first book in Jessica Long's new mafia hockey romance series called 'Savannah Sharks Hockey and Mafia Series' that is also a second chance and brother's best friend trope.

Francesca's entire life is shrouded in secrets, with her dad, Arturo Marino, being the mafia boss of the Mariano Family and her brother also being part of the life, with them keeping her in the dark. Francesca returns home to take the position of Director of Public Relations on her dad's newly purchased Savannah Sharks Hockey Team. However, she doesn't expect to bump into her ex-boyfriend, Rhett, who is also the team's captain, so quickly as he picks her up from the airport.

From the moment they are reunited, sparks are reignited and Francesca ends up spending the night at Rhett's place, and he is determined to not let her run away again. Can't wait to see what the next book brings as this ends on a cliffhanger.

Francesca broke things off with her boyfriend, Rhett, two years ago, she could no longer keep secrets from him. Since her father was head of the Marino family, her life was about secrets. Now her father bought the Savannah Sharks Hockey team and asked her to come work for them as their director of public relations. She would have to see Rhett again, but did not realize how soon, he was sent to pick her up from the airport. Her first night back in Savannah and she slept with him again.

Rhett is determined that Francesca will be his no matter how long he has to wait for her, no matter how much she runs. Francesca is not type of girl to wait around for answers and is determined to finds out what her father is up to with some of the team members.

Jessica keeps you turning the pages with this read. Rhett is captain of the Savannah Sharks hockey team and he sent to pick Francesca from the airport who has come back after finishing university in Georgia to be PR person for the sharks. Despite their breakup a while ago they soon get on hit and heavy again. Francesca is annoyed when she finds out the family is keeping her out of the loop and hiding what’s really going on. There is certainly some steaminess and action going on throughout the book. I received an arc for my voluntary honest review from Booksprout for NN Book Blog. If you love a dark mafia romance with some hockey thrown in you will love this book. This book may not be for everyone therefore heed the author’s warnings. There is a bit of a cliffhanger at the end of this book therefore I cant wait for the next book with Spenser’s book.

Wicked Truths is the first book of the Savannah Sharks Hockey and Mafia series. Wicked Truths is the adventurous story of Francesca and Rhett. I enjoyed reading this book for the most part, however, the only thing I didn’t like was how the story ended on what felt like a cliffhanger. I’m hoping Francesca and Rhett’s story will be continued in another book. Especially when Francesca receives a call from her mother whom she thought was dead. I’m not going to give any other details because I don’t want to ruin the book for future readers. I would definitely suggest Wicked Truths to other readers. I’m looking forward to seeing what author Jessica Long comes up with next.

Wow, I absolutely loved reading this book, it was one I couldn't put down, the story was well developed and the characters were sensational. Francesca Marino is a Mafia Princess that's gone back home she s ready to join the family business when her father allows her to be the PR for the hockey team her father bought. Rhett sees Francesca and tries to talk to her as this is the first time after two years when they broke up and he believed they should not have. There was so many secrets between them but there was kidnapping, danger, violence, action, depressed then happy, passion and with lots more emotions.

Between being treated as if she isn’t equipped to be part of the ‘family’ business to secrets her family and past love all are keeping … Francesca seems to get herself
In a mess all while deciding if she can trust the man she loves.

This was a fast paced book and there are a lot of unanswered questions that I assume will be answered in the other books coming up.

Wicked Truths (Book 1 of Savannah Sharks Hockey and Mafia Series) by Jessica Long is a mafia sports romance novel. This book blends two main items hockey and mafia. The author does an interesting job of mixing the two together in the story. Having hockey as a theme mellows out some of the violence seen in mafia books. While the mafia gives the hockey some action and a boost it adds to the story line.

Francesca left Rhett because she was hiding things from him and she felt that was wrong. She is now back to help her father run the hockey team he bought. Of course guess who runs into.

I really enjoyed this story. It was an intriguing and fun read.

Francesca is back in town to take the position as the PR director for the Savannah Sharks which her ex-boyfriend is the team captain. Their chemistry is reignited when he ends up being the one to pick her up from the airport with her spending the night at his place. I was hoping for Francesca to be a stronger character and the plot of having a mafia/hockey theme didn't quite mesh for me. It was 3.5 stars for me.

The title for this book is totally on par!

Francesca and Rhett are both hiding secrets from each other, and as much as they have intense chemistry, and a deep love for each other, we watch them work through these secrets on the path to finding a way back together.

It's an intense, enjoyable read with a good amount of action.

Wicked Truths is the first book of the Savannah Sharks Hockey and Mafia series. Its a well written and captivating sport / mafia romance. I enjoyed the premise of the story and the characters . I liked both Francesca and Rhetts character. Francesca belongs to Mafia family and Rhett is the captain . The author has done a great job mixing these two sub genres . This is the first time I am reading the author and will be checking out more of her books.

Hockey and mafia romance all rolled into one suspenseful, action packed and sexy read. Rhett and Francesca have amazing chemistry.
