Clockwork Cameras

Rate this book
In the last days of film cameras, before digital took a hold, just about every model, be it a compact or a single lens reflex, had a built-in motor drive to advance the film automatically between exposures. The motors, of course, were battery driven. But cameras with motor drives were around long before the electronic age, the only difference being that they ran by clockwork. This profusely illustrated book tells the story of those cameras plus other areas of photographic history – including panoramic and cine cameras, special accessories and even darkroom equipment – where clockwork played an important role.
