Dinosaur Cove #3

March of the Armoured Beasts

Rate this book
Welcome to the Cretaceous! It's a pretty cool place, in a prehistoric hot and humid kind of way! Jamie and Tom have followed the fossilized footprints and discovered a secret dinosaur world. There's so much to see and do in the Cretaceous, and with their little dinosaur friend, Wanna, the boys set off to explore. But they're stopped in their tracks when they find a baby ankylosaurus stuck in the mud. It looks like it's about to go under and the boys know they can't just leave it. But how do you pull a dinosaur out of a muddy swamp? Especially when the baby's mother has just arrived and is not too happy to see the boys! This is the third book in the hugely popular Dinosaur Cove series.

This is another great book in this series. The boys this time must rescue a baby Ankylosaurus.

My son found this in a used bookstore clearance section. He isn't reading on his own yet, but likes longer stories at bedtime and is totally into dinosaurs at the moment.

This story is long enough to be read over several nights but the not so long that he loses interest over time and has a pretty reasonable amount of illustrations for an early chapter book.

Story is pretty formulaic, boys go to cave, meet new dino, have adventure and go back home. The intended audience isn't going to care...it's dinosaurs. Who doesn't want to see living dinosaurs? The idea went over well, because my son saw the covers for the other books in the series on the back and stated we needed to read those stories too.

My Dino loving 4 year old loves Dinosaur cove chapter books. An easy read, lots of dinosaurs to learn about, each book focuses on one type. This book has been my sons favorite in the series thus far. Little readers will learn more about paleontology and various dinosaurs while following the exploits of Tom and Jaime. Along the lines of Magic Tree house, but with more adventure and a bit more focused as each book is on dinosaurs.

When the boys go to dinosaur world again, they find an baby ankylosaurus trapped in mud. They try to get it out. How will Tom and Jamie save the baby ankylosaurus?

I really like this book. I like ankylosaurus's a lot. I think having a clubbed tail would be cool. You should read this book.

Read this with my son, taking turns - good book for beginning readers, and the dinosaurs helped keep him interested.

Tasmay read the book....found it very funny, in the book there was an Ankylosaurus that got stuck in the mud and the 2 kids Jamie & Tom recused it in a very interesting way.

Adorable and simplistic without being too childish for younger readers.

It was a really weird plan because they thought the baby Anky might not move from the muck.
