Looks at the daily life of the members of the United States Ski Team as they follow the World Cup circuit, and describes the dangers of the sport of downhill racing
I can't remember what year I read this in, but it was a gift from my father. At the time I wanted very badly to be good enough in the slalom to try out for the US Ski Team.
I never got good enough, but reading the book gave me a good idea of some of the things that they go through.
I'd rather just ski on my own. However, I did instigate my high school forming a ski team, in part because of reading the book. I fully enjoyed this book and to this day still have a deep appreciation for the sport.
