I can't remember what year I read this in, but it was a gift from my father. At the time I wanted very badly to be good enough in the slalom to try out for the US Ski Team.

I never got good enough, but reading the book gave me a good idea of some of the things that they go through.

I'd rather just ski on my own. However, I did instigate my high school forming a ski team, in part because of reading the book. I fully enjoyed this book and to this day still have a deep appreciation for the sport.
