‘Dashing’ Dallas Morgan has spent years cultivating his heel image. As a top talent at the IWU, he loves being the biggest a-hole in the ring. The issue is that he’s allowed the lines between the gimmick and reality to blur. The people closest to him are sick of the way he has become consumed by his character. Family, colleagues and friends have stepped away, disgusted by an in-ring incident which leads to him assaulting a fellow wrestler. The bosses at IWU are not happy and he is told that either he makes some distinct changes, or he’s out of the only life he’s ever known.
Avery Brandon loves her job as the best hair and make up artist IWU has ever employed. She works with some wonderful, talented people. Except for Dallas Morgan. He is a rude narcissist who only thinks about himself, instead of understanding that he’s part of a team. On any given day, Avery would love to throw her fist into his pretty face. Then she would put him on his knees like she had made dozens of men in the past.
Sweet, Southern, Avery has a secret she has kept from those around her. A secret identity only to a select few on an adult website have any idea about.
To those people she is known simply as Lady Scarlett.
Jac Franklin was born and raised in Norwich but relocated to the Essex coast over a decade ago, for love. When she's not writing, she's listening to music. Her tastes are eclectic, and stem from her time at music college.
Jac's pen name comes from the initials of her real name, and Franklin is in tribute to her late grandmother who was truly one of a kind.
An avid reader, she grew up reading primarily fantasy books. Garth Nix, Terry Pratchett, Rick Riordan being some of her favourites. Nowadays she's a ferocious reader of spicy romance novels. She loves Amy Daws, Julia Quinn, Samantha Young and Melissa Foster, to name a few.
The first book in the Degrees of Separation, Coast to City, started as a dream that wouldn't go away until she wrote the story down. It took just twenty days to write the entire novel, but then the other characters started piping up, and so DoS was born.
There is no love lost between me and Dallas Morgan. I have made my distaste for him well known.
Never did I think I'd read a book that would redeem him, yet here we are.
Such an amazing turn around by the talented authors and the red lady, hot damn that was hot as heck. Though I think my favourite part is when they decide to connect in the pantry and poor Demi walking in on them. Hilarious.
I was truly moved by this book and all the topics it covered, and when Dallas stood up for Avery after she'd been attacked, I knew that things were finally going to work out for them.
Excellent work and I am thirsty for more.

I love this world and loved this couple. Dallas is a hard character to fall for but once you do, he won’t let you go. I loved how Avery was able to crack through his hard shell and I loved how Dallas didn’t hesitate to stand up for Avery when it truly mattered. This was an easy read for me and helped get me out of a bit of a slump. I can’t wait for more from this world!!!
First, I must say I struggled getting into this one a bit. I loved the previous books and this one too, but it took me longer. Dallas is not my favorite character, but he does redeem himself in the end. I love this world Jac has created, and with Naomi joining, I will now seek out her books.
