Smoke I’m not a good man. I’ve done bad things. Lied, cheated, and even killed. I’d do it all again if every time it brings me home to her. Ember. My good girl who has been sheltered from the world. Raised in a cult, there’s so much she doesn’t understand about life. So much life she hasn’t experienced. I want to give it all to her. Put the world in the palm of her hand and treat her like a queen. I’ve made a vow not only to her but to myself to be a man worthy of all the love she has to give. I’m Ember’s first and I intend to be her last. I’ll do whatever it takes to bind her to me in every way possible.
Glenna Maynard is a Wall Street Journal & USA Today Bestselling Author best known for her gritty motorcycle club romances. She has a passion for writing antiheroes and romance as dark as her heart with over 60 titles published. When she isn’t arguing with the voices in her head or drinking reader tears you can find her curled up with a good book or attempting a new craft with her kids and husband in Eastern Kentucky.
One of my favourite things about this author's books are that the couples are not perfect by any stretch of the imagination. Smoke and Ember had been through a rough patch and thought they had come out the other side unscathed but things and people's expectations change. Old jealousies and resentments cause havoc especially because they didn't really talk about what they wanted until it was too late. Often in anger we do things we will regret and boy are these two determined to make their relationship hard work. I do love the way the author writes her toxic relationships, it is angst at maximum full of anger, jealousy and passion. Truthfully I wouldn't have them any other way it's what keeps me reading every book in the series.
It’s tough with Smoke and Ember trying to make things work because one is more than ready to commit and the other isn’t. It is hard with the age gap because both are at different points in their lives. The lies, the cheating just makes their life so much tougher. The old ladies seem to have a vested interest in these two as well.
It was a real page turner to see if these two could pull it together to find their HEA. I can’t wait to see what comes next from this author. Always stellar writing from this author.
Gosh I needed this book more than you know. It had all my emotions flowing watching these two. I just wanted to knock their heads together and then do it again for good measure. They are all about their screw ups for sure but they eventually find their way.
Goodness can't wait to see who the next book will be about. For some reason I'm thinking Creed with Sabrina but ahhh that would cause some drama. Guess I'll have to wait to see.
Hold on to your seat, because The Biker’s Vow is one captivating, entertaining & bumpy ride. Glenna Maynard’s storytelling ability is sensational. Her characters are tough, but have a vulnerable side. I love how Glenna writes about flawed human beings that make them more real / relatable, and they have to learn and grow. The characters made mistakes/bad choices and have to deal with the consequences. As you read the story you can’t help rooting for Ember and Smoke even when you are upset with them. Smoke knows what he wants (marriage and a baby). Ember is younger (age-gap) than Smoke and is not sure that she wants / is still figuring it out. Ember has been sheltered all her life (raised in a cult). This story gave me all the feels (laughed, cried, got mad, etc). The Biker’s Vow is a fast-paced, intriguing story, with strong characters and a well-developed plot. It has love, romance, action, alpha bikers, suspense, and so much. The Biker’s Vow is another amazing book by Glenna Maynard. Get ready to be immersed into the lives of the characters like only Glenna Maynard can do.

The Biker's Vow (Royal Bastards MC: Charleston, WV Book #16 by Glenna Maynard is one hell of an emotional, intense age-gap romance story. The storyline is captivating and the characters are dynamic. You will be on edge from beginning to end as you will want to scream at Smoke and Ember's behavior.
Smoke is an over the top biker who has done it all; killed, cheated and lied. Ember is a sheltered young woman who was raised in a cult. She has many personal experiences to achieve to contribute to her growth and Smoke wants to give it all to her. He was her first and she will be his last, he wants it all love and family but Ember is confused as she doesn't know what she wants is the age difference a factor? Will Ember meet Smoke half way and give their love a chance as they will have to go through many obstacles to be together as these two at times are flawed with the decisions they made. Now we have to wait for the next book to learn why Sabrina show up!
This story had it all fierce alpha bikers, love, romance and action as Glenna Maynard has taken her readers on a ride or die journey! This is a must read.
Book 16 of the Royal Bastards MC, Charleston, WV Chapter is Smoke and Ember's story and this book had me feeling all sorts of things. One minute I I livid with Ember, the next it was Smoke and then I won't even get into the other stupid women. This author never fails to bring a story full of some sort of drama (mostly other woman drama) that always leaves me wanting to either throttle somebody or wrap them up for safe keeping. As with everything this author brings, The Biker's Vow is absolutely fantastic! It definitely gives all the feels with a healthy dose of drama, a bit of action and a lot of dirty. Well done Ms. Maynard
Smoke and Ember have struggled in the past but were doing great, until they weren’t. Egos, tempers, non communication and fears get in the way. As they crumble and the walls go up they both have a lot to think about. Jealousy is an ugly beast and man does it ever show its head in this one. Big things are happening within the club, changes are coming, relationships are tested and secrets are coming out. Glenna Maynard is the Queen of drama and this book has it all!! If you haven’t read her RBMC Charleston series you absolutely must. As always, she delivered a five star read. I can not wait for the next one!
Smoke and Ember have been together a while now and though there’s an age gap he wants to settle down and start a family with her. She wants nothing more as she loves him but she has so much growing up to do having lived a sheltered life with cult like parents that she escaped when they arranged a marriage for her to come to live with her brother Prodigy and met him. Instead of telling him her fears she inadvertently pushes him away, can they get back to how they were or is it over for good.
Could have kicked both their a$$€$, him for being a d^^k and her for not seeing she was as much to blame and because they both love each other.
What I loved: I loved how Ember(h) moved on and didn’t just sit around after Smoke(H). I also loved how Smoke got on his knees ;) Pam cracks me up.
What I didn’t like: I didn’t like how nothing was mentioned with STD’s. And because I’m greedy, I also wished we got more.
***Major Spoilers/ Details/Triggers: Ow/Om drama. This is a continuation of Smoke and Ember’s story. They are both battling with some insecurities that have them go through a rough patch which has them separate. After some drama they eventually set things right and get their HEA.
Final thoughts: I’m glad we got more of Smoke and Ember <3 Now I patiently have to wait for Creed’s book!! ;)
Got to give it to Glenna Maynard she did it again with yet another amazing read that was had me going through a rollercoaster ride of emotions and i could not stop turning the pages this is the story of Smoke & Ember and Royal Bastard's MC, Charleston, WV Book 16.
This book has all types of emotions such as love, hate, revenge and much more with lots of action and twist and turns. Ember is a good girl, but she chose a bad boy like Smoke they go through so much, but they are determined to make it work out even though lies and betrayal come into play. Can they make it after everything they go through?
I’m thinking everyone who reviewed before me must have “drank the Koolaid”. This book has so many plot holes it resembles baby swiss cheese. Neither main character is likable (much less believable). Their “affection” for one another is like watching a cheap slinky extend and retract while falling down stairs, except you’re more excited to see how the slinky ends up than Team Smember. Like, are we supposed care if two morons that have no romantic chemistry in a thinly-plotted book decide to tie the knot during one of their two-second-long bouts of fondness?
Try to put some effort into the next book, Ms. Maynard.
Smoke and Ember return to tell the rest of their story, and what can I can say apart from...what a whirlwind of emotions!!!! From the beginning,Ember thought she was adamant that she didn't want what Smoke has always wanted...his ring on her finger, and his baby in her belly, and this took them both on a journey of self doubt, wrong decisions, and second chances. I loved every minute of this book, and it completely took my mind off things, which I was so grateful for! Can't wait for the final book of the series!
I read this book in a couple hours bc I couldn’t put it down. Smoke wants to give Ember her the world but Ember holds a secret that could ruin their relationship. Smoke knows not to rush Ember bc she is younger than him but he knows he is her first & hopes to be her forever. There is a part in the story that broke my heart but life is not always fair. Glenna is a fantastic writer & will always buy her books. Please give this series a read and the other authors who write this books.
If you enjoy reading Motorcycle Romance books this is a good one. The Bikers vow starts with Smokes vow to his love interest Ember. She is the sister of one of his club brothers. After a couple conflicts that are resolved quickly the story flows quickly to the end. I was worried for them for a while. I suggest reading Tempting The Biker before reading this. What I loved about this is the Easter Eggs for side characters books in this universe.
A fiery, passionate and angst filled romance that will keep you on the edge of your seat. Ember and Smoke love one another but they definitely need to learn how to communicate better. At times I was upset with Ember then it would change and Smoke got on my nerves. I enjoyed watching them grow and learn more about themselves. This is another fantastic addition to an already amazing series. I loved it.
These two took me on one bumpy ride. I wanted to knock Smoke upside the head more than once, while cheering Ember on as she didn't shy away from showing Smoke what he messed up, but in the end they got their got their happily ever after and I couldn't be happier. The ending got me a bit as I'm left wonder why Sabrina popped up and I can't wait to get my hands on the next book to find out not only that, but what the new family member will be.
As always Glenna has outdone herself! Ember & Smoke these two have my heart in this series. the way they are towards each other after such up and down relationship is unreal. They have real life struggles & feelings that some couples have. And it’s always hard to speak about. This book broke my heart a little bit with the things these two went through but i am so glad it had a beautifully done haply ending! Totally made me cry! But then again Glenna has a tendency to do that in her books. lol Great read

Smoke and Ember, where to start, I actually hated both of them in parts of this book. The age cap was a big factor, what one was ready for the other wasn’t. In my heart it felt like there was cheating by both of them, I know it wasn’t technically cheating. I wanted to smack both of them many times. It’s tough work but they get their acts together in the end. I love this series and this doesn’t disappoint. Anything Glenna Maynard writes is gold.
Just ... wow. Not what I was expecting. I had tears by the end of chapter 5, and Smoke's broken heart nearly broke mine.
So many changes are coming, and I can't wait to see how things fall into place.
Glenna Maynard has written some of my favorite lines. My personal choice in this story: "We’ve got everything against us. Our age difference. My stupidity. Her immaturity. At the end of the day, none of that shit matters."
Holy crap! This book has given me whiplash! Amber and Smoke, not gonna lie, thought was a done deal but holy shit! They just said hold my beer! Ember, bless her, has so many insecurities because of her past and a talk with Smoke that he totally misunderstands, leads to them trying to out sue each other in the ‘up yours’ stakes! I wanted to shake the shit out of the both of them but what a read!
Oh my gosh! This story is so good and boy does it have all the feels. I cried, I smiled, I got mad and I felt relief. This is the continuation of Smoke's and Ember's love story. It is a rocky and painful time as they both betray one another. Never fear, there is a happily ever after ending. This book was so good I couldn't put it down until I finished it!
What a great addition to Glenna's current RBMC world. Smoke and Ember started out on dodgy footing and for her, at least, the foundation still isn't solid enough to move forward.
Angst follows and adds to the club drama that's always going on around this bunch of guys.
There were some great openings left for the next in the series which I can't wait for.
Glenna Maynard, has written one of my favorite series. I'm not originally from West Virginia, but it has been my home now foe 20 years. I have loved the Royal Bastards characters and the on going story line. These are a must read. I couldn't put this book down.
Smoke and Ember's story is fire. I loved these two along with seeing their journey to a HEA. This one has some conflict, action, drama, angst, and age gap all things that I liked about this one. A must read in this series. One I thoroughly enjoyed reading.
Smoke and Ember are two of my favorite characters in the Royal Bastards West Virginia Chapter. This is a pretty good age gap story. One where he has lived life and she is just starting out. Smoke wants it all, a marriage a baby and the white picket fence. Ember is young and isn't sure what she wants. Will they be able to make it last? Smoke sets Ember free so she can grow and fins herself. Will they ever be able to meet in the middle and get back together, you'll have to read The Biker's Vow to find out.
Glenna Maynard is a master with her words. I'm looking forward to the next story in this series and everything else that she writes.
Another 5 star read. As always Glenna knocked it outta the park. No spoilers, you’ll just have to read to find out, but just know, there’s some nuggets dropped that you won’t want to miss. Can’t wait to see what comes next…
I just can't get enough of this RBMC chapter! I love the characters & their stories & all their shenanigans! But, I see a new beginning in the works..... (glaring @ Glenna)
Was so excited to read more about Ember and Smoke. As always I was a mess of Rollercoaster emotions. One minute I was rooting for Smoke, then Ember then sad, then happy, then mad. Well u get my point lol Loved this story and so excited for the next one.
Struggling to move on from past decisions forces the break-up, but then things spiral out of control. Leaving one to wonder if they can make it back to where they were. Definitely recommend this book, series and author.
