The World Before the Apocalypse The illustrated novelEarth. The year 2622. A world where magical abilities are in balance with modern technology. A world where clans and aristocrats rule, and almost every one of them has a special Gift. They can control the elements, soar in the sky, transform into beasts, or inspire fear in the enemy. They can get into your head and make you do things you would never do.… You're just a toy to them.… A stranger from another era, from the distant future of this world, gets into the body of a simple guy. He died there, betrayed by his friends, but came back to life here after getting a second chance. He doesn't have magic, or rather, the magic of his new body is too peculiar for him. But he has his secrets. Secrets that no one in this world knows… Should he change this world or get lost in the crowd to be like everyone else..?
Author's It's a light story about friendship, the struggle for a place in this world, and love. Don't take the book too seriously, and everything will be fine. The book has magic and beautiful girls, school and beautiful girls, gorgeous illustrations and... beautiful girls. There is a bit of humor and a bit of debauchery.
Warning! Explicit scenes! (quite a lot) Violent scenes! (a few at most) Foul language! (not a lot)
If I could give this book less than 1 star I would. This is by far the worst book I have ever read. It was confusing, all over the place, dark and wrong in so many ways. There was no point to the entire book. I am glad I got this book in a Goodreads giveaway because I would never waste my money on this book.
Honestly I really liked the overall story, and the illustrations were great. It was nice to have them added and I really think it added to the story. I liked all of the characters and their back stories.
My negative thoughts are this story seems to have the characters actions written to the plot. The main character frequently forgets important details only to remember them at key plot points, or makes huge leaps of logic when it doesn't make since. I would have enjoyed this story more if the characters actions meet more with their personalities rather than to make plot points. Unfortunately it is a common thing I see a lot of.
But past that, I did think this was a good story. again loved the illustrations being added in and hope more authors do it as well. I will still likey check out the next book.
I had hopes for this book— a different kind of isekai, with the protagonist moving from a more feral world to one similar to our own. They were hopes that didn’t work out, though.
The writing is pedestrian. The protagonist is a cad., and seems to have little interest in the world he has entered. The “bad guys” are cardboard cutouts without individual personalities and could be swapped for one another without anyone noticing. The “art” doesn’t always match the prose (there was a kiss in a full-head mask, for example). Also, all the girls and women pictured look like their faces have been photoshopped to look alike.
In its favor, the grammar is mostly good, and there are minimal typos.
This is a total mixed bag of very good and very bad. You have a futuristic grown man with warrior survival skills thrown back in time into the body of an 18 year old high school student Mickey. However, this main character never acts like he has 40+ years of future survival experience. Other than the magical patterns he draws on his body, he acts like a complete moron. The sad thing is that this story has a lot of potential. If the author could get his head out of his ass and actually write based on the premises of the story setup, he could have a winning steries.
The MC escapes from a destroyed world to a time before the apocalypse where magic & technology coexist and are commonplace. He finds himself the wearing the meat suit of a gay nerd HS student with a succubus talent, which attracts men, not women. His new family is quite dysfunctional and he must adapt to his new reality where he was bullied, yet surrounded by beautiful girls and women. Since he is not gay, he soon finds himself throwing his hot dog down quite a few hallways. He starts working out to get in shape which is good because he soon finds himself targeted by gangsters. Then things really get complicated.
The illustrations are incredible and add depth to the story.

Kind of a weird story but it is a very interesting world setting. Not sure why the author is so concerned about the explicit scenes. Overall, they are quite mild compared to many other Science Fiction stories that hold such explicit descriptions. But the best part of this book is its illustrations. The artwork is quite exceptional. It really helps the imagery of the story.
The book was a spry simply because the story itself was fun and interesting. The main character was logical with good dialogue interaction as part of the story. The story held a lot of adult content but it wasn't the focus of the actual plot line and story itself, and felt like a nice distraction instead of the focus of the book. Fast paced, fun, and filled with hot women, . what more can you ask for!
There were a few times in the beginning when the writing made it feel like thenMC was not living in a "real" world because of the weird behavior of others or the world itself. But it only happened once or twice, which I will blame on editing or translation (if it was translated).
Aside form it sometimes being a little weird, it surprised me with the quality of the story and writing. I fully recommend this book! Pick it up!
Won this on goodreads giveaways. And this book I couldn’t put down . It was really spicy and entertaining. It got me out of a reading slump . I enjoyed the characters and the plot . I highly recommend this book and hope there is a second book to this
interesting but wish the gift can be explored more
So I really like the bones of this world and the MC’s origin, but I at least figure he would be able to want to explore his gift and maybe see if he can test around it. Other than that I hope he can combine patterns and his gift.
Actually a fun book a lot better than expected. Don’t be put of by the cover or blurb. I just downloaded the sample first not expecting much but ended up reading the hall book.
This was a unique story line that quickly pulled you in. Great coming of age story with a twist. I didn’t put this gook down and immediately downloading the second installment the series. New fan of this author and loved the illustrations!
This is great story. I like the idea. What to do in the before? Are your survival strategies still working? How to change the plan. What to do next? Questions and actions. Oh well is not what this novel is about. I am looking forward to the next story.
I read it to the end and again will not offend this amazing and funny writer who has me writing a review for the book that I recommend to everyone to laugh with this reader. The artwork is fantastic. A new fan!
Poor quality AI "artwork" paired with a poorly conceived and written story made this wholly unenjoyable. I couldn't finish this book, I will not be looking g at the rest of the series.
💝Have to love Mike’s fortunes not to mention his mysterious tattoos and gorgeous images 💖as he conjure magic 🪄 in this luscious world of beautifully liberated women that insists on inflaming little fires everywhere❤️🩹
Not sure how to classify this. A lot more sex than I'd usually read, but somehow the whole thing is like a trainwreck that I can't look away from. Not particularly coherent plot, but it somehow pulled me in and I'm two books in now. Continued in the review for book 2.
Feels like an AI written book, the art was so-so and definitely AI generated. There’s one scene of the MC in bed and he just doesn’t have feet. Couldn’t really get into it. The MC speaks his mind too much
Sexually explicide and low moral attributes. Illustrated. Text. The storyline is just a step too far; time travel, magic, EOTWAWKI, advanced science, and unlimited sex are just too much.
I'm being generous with 3 stars. But I think a lot of what I disliked was due to the fact that I was listening to the book and it was read by an AI. Horrible but experience. Not recommended.
Historia bastante entretenida, a mi gusto se queda corto en la acción, me hubiera gustado que hagan la transicion al escenario apocalíptico que le daria mas matices y mejores escenarios.
