1930: It's a new decade, and the world economy has fallen into a tailspin. While most are focusing on daily needs, the determined Adolf Hitler takes advantage of the unrest to set the wheels of history in motion.
The Harvey family and their loved ones are spread across the globe when the U.S. stock market crash cripples the world economy. Farming, food, and jobs are impacted in the U.S., and millions of men are out of work. In England, the disparity between the classes widens with devastating results. In Poland, antisemitism is on the rise, with unexpected consequences for Polish Jews. In Germany, the country is still reeling from the effects of the Great War and the Versailles Treaty. One government attempt after another has failed to upright the country. Could the bold and brash Adolf Hitler be the answer?
Jim and Melania Wirth provide stability to the rest of the Harvey family with their prudent efforts to manage through these depressed times. Peter Harvey has connected with his son, Jakob, but wonders how long he can stay in Poland, especially with the tenuous state of his relationship with Jakob’s mother, Christiane. Anna (Harvey) Lachance longs to make a difference for the British lower class yet struggles to find her footing.
Follow this final chapter of the Harveys as the bonds of love and family inextricably link them to people in the heart of Europe's antisemitism and the dramatic rise of Hitler's Third Reich. The Harveys struggle to support Christiane’s Jewish relations—stymied by America’s immigration policies. As the wheels of time seem to be marching toward the next world war, they're left to wonder if they’ll save anyone and how world events will shape their own family’s futures.

I received an advanced copy of the book to read but no other incentives. I've loved all 3 books in this series. You really feel like you are living history through the characters and stories.
