As always Roanoke law enforcement seems to get busy just when there’s a holiday and Lt. Det. Jenna Ferrari get’s to spend some much needed cuddle time with Dr. Randi MacLeod.
Except Jenna finds herself at the site of destruction in a mobile trailer park. She’s in the midst of the results of cooked meth, smoke, and bits and pieces of victims. Fire trucks and emergency medical teams are still on site. She’s not alone as her team of experts have arrived: Sgt. Det. Ron Owens, Det. Trisha Jamison and Spec. Off. Ethan Bauman. They are not without the aid of CSI Destiny Wilcox and Brian Davenport. They will all gather evidence and put their investigative skills together in figuring out if this case is an accident or attack, number of victims, ID’s and DNA.
Jenna just doesn’t have her mind totally focused on the mobile trailer park case, she has an upcoming wedding to plan and prepare for. She’s given thought to who to invite in the wedding party and what to do about her family.
As the team is in the office discussing the case, she’s approached by Off. Matt Murphy who asks her for advice. Her first thought is, has she left him out of the wedding plans? But it’s not all that simple. Murphy was called out on a domestic - noise complaint and was very concerned and suspicious about what he observed. She assured Murphy that she would look into it as soon as she received his report.
In the meantime, Randi is out with her friend Jo, who’s taking her to Psychic Essence for a reading by Rhiannon Hayes. Randi and Jo are shocked when Rhiannon Hayes sees her own death and it doesn’t stop there. When Randi seeks out, a sceptic Jenna, she agrees to help. Now, along with the mobile park case, a spousal abuse case, Jenna’s sister Angie’s issues, will Jenna and Randi be able to give total attention to planning their wedding?
Edale Lane is not afraid to cover some very difficult topics to address in “Foreseen in Murder.” The author covers: physical and verbal abuse that is deadly; drug addiction; hate that leads to bodily harm and even death. Although the stories are fiction they still provide some very needed advice especially to anyone in these situations. Some readers may find these situations traumatic but it’s really worth reading as the author covers: help that’s available for battered women and psychological therapy needed for these circumstances.
The author also makes this an interesting and informative with: Irish Lore, fae heritage, Druids of Celtic Britain and Scotland, chakras, mythology of the warrior race of Milesians and Tuatara De Dana, fairies, magic, curses and the power of crystals and gemstones and how they relate to healing and predicting futures and events.
Once again, the author also gives Jenna’s POV’s on how all of these situations occupy her mind. As always, Jenna has the solid support of Randi, who really comes through in all the situations. With every step they’ve taken their relationship has grown and they live with hope for a wonderful life together. As for Byron and Bandit they bring humor and love to their lives.
It’s always a joy to visit the Roanoke law enforcement team and others who enlighten the story: Sgt. Det. Ron Owens, Det. Trisha Jamison, Spec. Off. Ethan Bauman and Officer Matt Murphy. CSI: Destiny Wilcox and Brian Davenport; Dr. Asita Gupta, Jose Marcus, fingerprint analyst; and psychologist, Dr. Grayson. Even ADA Bennett Altman, Trisha’s fiance get’s a mention. Mario Sanchez, special friend of Ethan Bauman, makes an appearance and brings a surprise to Jenna’s team. There are also the two interesting ladies: psychic, Rhiannon Hayes and Clairvoyant Empath, Clara Louise Blaylock.
I highly recommend “Foreseen in Murder” book nine in the “Lessons in Murder” series. Edale Lane continues to bring interesting and serious subjects to this outstanding series. This is another excellent novel with a fascinating cover!
Randi and Jenna make up one powerful couple. They have a love that is charged with soul entwining romance. Foreseen in Murder was an excellent whodunnit and police procedural romance.
The detectives were able to prevent a murder, but failed to stop another. The phsycic saw her own murder and they were able to save her. The other a domestic abuse victim who didn't want to see, they failed to protect.
Jenna and Randi have their date set for the wedding and are busy planning the wedding through all this. Angie, Jenna's sister had a relapse as well as a breakthrough in recovering from drug abuse.
I can never get enough of this series I love the characters the storyline is always interesting it keeps me wanting to read All night long . I love this author And I recommend this series Can't wait for the next book
I am excited that Jenna and Randi are getting married! This installment of the series feels both comfortable as part of ongoing tale and exciting with the new criminal cases. Jenna and Randi are planning their wedding and, as you might expect, it’s causing angst for Jenna. Not to mention her sister needs help right now. Meanwhile, several cases need to be solved. Figuring out who done it is very fun as the story unfolds. The main case of someone who foresees their own death is a great mix of standard and paranormal. I like this series and I like this new chapter. Watching the relationship between the MC’s develop has been great and both are complex and interesting people. You might be able to read it as a stand alone but why this miss the series? I received an ARC.
