I have never read anything by Kayla Lowe before, OMG this was fantastic; this is book one of three in The Strawberry Beach Series. Daniel Whitman is a literature teacher at Strawberry Beach high school. Rachel moves in next door to Daniel she is also a teacher of literature; and will be teaching at his school. Danial is quiet, an introvert, and follows the rules. Rachel is outgoing, bubbly, vivacious, and she shakes things up at the high school. Students love her for her unconventional teaching methods. They go out for coffee and the air is charged between them, is it magic or mayhem? Can these two be neighbors and coworkers without killing each other? Love the plot, great setting, and strong intense interesting characters. I look forward to reading more from Ms. Lowe!!!
The pacing of this was so strange. Like, it was really cute but it gave me nothing and then it gave me everything all at once and then still somehow ended on a cliffhanger? 😭
Anyway, my Kindle glitched or something because when I went to mark it as read, it suddenly came up with the whole rest of the book?? I don't think I'm gonna read the whole complete book though, or at least not right now.
Overall, decent plot for a novella. Just wish the pacing had been different!!
I didn't love how the book ended on a cliff hanger. This book should've just been combinded with the 2nd book in the series. Other than that it was a cute story.
