Fans of Gilmore Girls and Susan Stoker’s Protecting Caroline will enjoy this small-town, celebrity-bodyguard romantic suspense.
Loyalty. Obsession. Betrayal.
World-renowned singer Aubrey Gray is finally free after spending the last seven years earning money to pay for her sister’s hospital bills. When she announces her early retirement and leaves Los Angeles in the rearview, she expects some fans will be disappointed. She can handle that. What she isn’t sure how to handle is the unexpected onslaught of hateful comments, death threats, and the decapitated teddy bear sitting innocuously on her dining room table.
As her dream of freedom devolves into a nightmare, Aubrey reluctantly acknowledges she may need help. Unfortunately, her best chance for survival rests with stubborn, overprotective celebrity bodyguard Noah Hawthorne who is one big-name client away from securing a prosperous future for his company–and his team.
As their strictly business relationship blooms into a full-fledged romance, Aubrey and Noah are tested when a series of horrific events begins to unfold. Will Noah be able to protect Aubrey or will the stalker waiting in the wings outsmart them both?
Securing Aubrey is the first book in an interconnected series. It is a stand-alone novel with a guaranteed HEA.
I didn’t like the main female character. The author gave her too many hang-ups and poor character traits. Aubrey’s behavior on her first encounter with Noah was rude and irrational. Honestly, that story should have ended right there. I really didn’t want to continue reading. But I made a commitment to do so. Sigh. Aubrey’s excuse for her profound rudeness was that she doesn’t like to be told what to do. Implied was the statement “I’m a strong independent woman that don’t need no man”. Until she did. This story was stressful to read. The main female character kept the main male character in a state of stressed frustration for most of the story. All he was trying to do was keep her alive while she kept declaring her independence every other paragraph.
I love bodyguard romance stories. I knew after the first chapter this one would not be a keeper.

So grateful to Julia Douglas for allowing me to beta and ARC read this book!
Favorite quote 🩷 “It’s not the dress—though the dress is nice. It’s you, Bree. You are kind, and warm, and thoughtful, and the goodness shines through you brighter than any star in the night sky. The dress merely accessorizes the inescapable internal beauty of the woman wearing it. You’re perfect.”
This book was so good! Noah is the ultimate book boyfriend, and the relationship between Bree and Noah felt so natural and real. It started off with them wanting nothing to do with each other as bodyguard/client. Bree was a little rude because she didn't want his help and also was dealing with so much (the threats, her awful father, her sister, her career ending) it's no wonder she wasn't immediately loveable and that's okay. Noah started off as all business, but as they spent more time together, they opened up and became friends. He started making jokes here and there, until they were laughing and getting along great. Then the sweet touches like his hand on her lower back or them holding hands to comfort each other, all before either of them really realized feelings were starting.
Of course, this is also a suspense story. Someone is threatening Aubrey, and it's escalating. Noah is doing what he can to protect her, with the help of his best friends and employees, all of whom are loveable, protective, and fun guys. I wished I could be a part of their weekly dinners!
The last few chapters is where most of the action is, and I was on the edge of my seat. The stalker was unhinged, and the character was written very well in that their actions were totally unpredictable.
But it is an HEA, and the epilogue really wrapped it up into the perfect ending! This book was a perfect balance of their romantic relationship building and the suspense of her stalker situation.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Bodyguard/celebrity client then friends to lovers Stalker suspense Slow burn No spice Third person POV
First I would like to say a big thank you to Julia Douglas for letting me be apart of this ARC Team!

What to expect when reading Securing Aubrey; -Celeb x Bodygaurd -Forced proximity -Secrets -Suspense -Happy ever after
Aubrey Gray is now a retiring singer ready to live life low key, but a string of events causes her to enlist the help of Noah Hawthorne for security.
This book takes you on a guessing journey of who could be threatening Aubrey. I thought I had a few guess but this poor just had everything coming at her in every direction. You also get to enjoy the relationship between Aubrey and Noah (we love a protective man)
The characters were great, I enjoyed their growth throughout the book. There were a couple I wanted to round house kick, but I’ll let you read the book and find out who they are😉
I know there will be two more additional books in this series and I can’t wait to read those as well!
Make sure you get the book when it releases on June 11th❤️
I will say make sure to check trigger warnings. The book does talk about topics that may be hard to read for some.
I enjoyed the small town celebrity bodyguard, romantic suspense. If features Aubrey, a singer and Noah, her bodyguard. When she decides to retire from the spotlight, she starts receiving death threats, hateful comments, and a decapitated teddy bear on her dining room table. She hires Noah to protect her and help find her stalker.
I liked that this kept me guessing and every time I thought I had it figured out, I was wrong. The characters were great and I like seeing the relationship developed between Noah and Aubrey. He is over protective while she just wants to be independent. It does have some triggers, so please be sure to read the trigger warnings A great start to the series and I can’t wait to read more.
I hope you like your books big and your heroes swoon worthy! I normally don't pick up a book that is over 500 pages but I've found a new author to put on my watch list with Julia Douglas. This book is a slow burn, just kisses romance that really puts the romance into the story. I felt every anxious almost kiss and the chemistry between the two made me really feel like the relationship took all the time it needed to develop and didn't feel rushed or boring. The action of the danger Aubrey and Noah were in really made this a page turner. I really hope the next Hawthorne Security book is on the way!

Aubrey is a retiring singer, but a series of unfortunate events leads her to get security-Noah Hawthorne.
This book is a slow burn, closed door romantic suspense that keeps you wanting and waiting for the first kiss. The relationship between Aubrey and Noah is almost as suspenseful as the plot-but in the best of ways. There was plenty of action to keep my attention, despite the length of the book.
At first I had a hard time liking Aubrey, but it was worth hanging around and watching her grow. This book develops the characters well. I look forward to the next book!
Book 1 has set a great start to this group of interesting men. I absolutely enjoyed the relationship that developed between Noah & Bree. Adored the way Noah is protective & gentle towards Bree's safety. The dynamics between the team & Bree felt natural. Suspense kept us guessing. Definitely felt some strong feelings towards Bree's family. An enjoyable, suspenseful romance I will follow. Honest review
Securing Aubrey was an entertaining read in my opinion, in the beginning I didn't really like Bree's character but she did grow on me as the story line progressed. This was a new author for me and one that I will be willing to read again. The book certainly had plenty of twists and turns, I definitely would recommend it to others.
I received and ARC from BookSirens for free, and I am leaving my review voluntarily.
Slow going at first, but an intriguing and exciting read. Noah and Bree are two very intense and compelling characters. She’s in danger and he’s her protector, and together, they work through crime, drama, and fear to bring her stalker to justice. They slowly develop feelings for each other which makes the case a bit more complicated. Bree has a difficult family dynamic. It’s very well written and creates even more mystery to this powerful read. Great ending!
I wanted to give this book a higher rating, but there were just too many spelling and grammar errors to look past.
Outside of that, this was a great book! I love how I kept wanting to read more because I needed to know who it was! Even though some of it was expected, there was definitely one part that surprised me!
