Set after the events of Alpha Inmate with a new couple. Featuring an investigative journalist Omega and a serial killer Alpha. This is a STANDALONE, but reading Alpha Inmate first will provide a larger backstory!
Enemies to lovers, tons of angst, and a HEA. Featuring scenting, Heats, knots, nesting, and Ruts.
Liliana Carlisle is a romance author that loves angst, drama, and passion. The spicier the better!
She resides in Northern California with her husband, stepchildren, and emotional cats. She started her writing "career" in seventh grade, writing Backstreet Boys fanfiction in her notebooks. When she's not writing she can be found studying classical voice, playing Fortnite, or gulping cold brew.
I started reading Alpha Ruined and felt like I was left in the dark trying to figure out what was going on. Like the information was beyond my grasp and I was missing vital clues. It's plausible because both Cole and Bree had secrets worth keeping.
She wasn’t lying when she told him she was lost, even if she thinks she was just giving him an excuse. She was lost—she’s been waiting for him to find her.
Call it boredom and deep curiosity, Bree is determined to find answers around a forbidden love story in Green Woods. Pushing all reservations aside, she takes the greatest risk by travelling there alone. Without any self preservation she stumbles across Cole in an abandoned prison. And with all the evident red flags, biology has still chosen him.
He doesn’t want her afraid of him. He just wants her love, her companionship, and her soul. And maybe just a little bit of her fear, occasionally.
You know instinctively that Cole the Alpha is shady. Everything feels off and his immediate obsession with Bree is concerning. There are clues along the way that alludes to what he's up to, but there's no denying that he's the most exciting and possibly the best thing that has happened to Bree.
Set in the quaint small town of Green Woods where a prison inmate went missing, and a series of dead bodies are turning up; this was oddly romantic. Regardless of the strange things occuring, Bree was brought here for a reason. To find her mate who is completely unorthodox, persistent and charming. A man who will show her how to love herself and be loved. How could she not fall for this anti hero?
mini blurb — ✍🏻 Bree is a journalist, and she is determined to uncover the truth beyond what happened at the Green Wood Correctional Facility (Alpha Inmate), stumbles upon Cole, who's in the city to help to right the justice system in his own way. //
I loved this! I wouldn't have minded if it was a little more long, it felt like a novella!
This being sort of a "sequel" to Alpha Inmate was just too cute, Bree was a nice surprise, I thought she had more character compared to other FMCs in this genre, she had a strong will and a mind and passion and she was set not to lose them. Cole, lmao I loved him, he became obsessed in zero time (as he should) and he was the perfect combination of psycho killer with a vigilante complex and a cinnamon roll. I mean, the guy basically broke in and proceeded to fill up her fridge since all she was was like a stale apple and half protein bar. 🩷🙏
Such a wonderful palate cleanser :) I can always count on this author to deliver on a great story with all my favorite tropes and kinks of mine. I just wished the heroine was a little more lenient towards the hero at the end. He literally did everything to earn her love and she was a little adamant about forgiving him.
Alpha Ruined by Liliana Carlisle is a sweet, stalker, loving story. I didn’t know I’d love a psycho. But I think Cole is perfect for Bree. TW to look for. HEA.
Omegaverse with a morally grey stalker hero and a sassy, looking for trouble heroine. Recommend to read first for a better understanding of the story.
This was a great little read. Good blend of spice, plot and intrigue. There’s of course 🪢 and lots of fluids💦 and all kinds of kinks so grab a spare pair of panties🤤. Cole is very patient with Bree, but at the same time i loved his persistence and no take no for an answer attitude.Bree is broken but with her mate she can be herself no shame and no hiding. A bit too much instalove for my liking, Cole seems to fall in love from the get go but it was balanced out by the fact that Bree holds out for a good part of the book. 3.5 stars rounded to 4.
Would recommend to omegaverse readers or just for a quick easy read☺️
"You have to stop with the staring thing," she says. "You're the only thing in this world worth looking at. It's your fault, not mine."
Alpha Inmate was my first Liliana Carlisle and one of my first few omegaverse books, and instantly got me hooked, so it was awesome to go back to the setting for that book! I'm unfortunately getting dangerously close to having read Liliana's entire backlist of books, so this one will have to tide me over for a while 😅
This was another super fun read, that I had no choice but to devour in a single day. It doesn't help that I'm a sucker for cats and the interactions regarding the cat in this book was everything 😍
"If admiring your beauty is stalking, it looks like I'm going to prison for a long time."
honestly this series is just the perfect palette cleanser in between other books. i do think that i enjoyed book 1 a bit more than i enjoyed this one, but both were decent. bree had too much emotional baggage and i was kinda over hearing about it 50 pages in but whateva. cole was possessive and intense and i adored how protective he was of bree 🥵 the spice was pretty good and i enjoyed that cole was honestly just a big teddy bear for bree
“you’re the only thing in this world worth looking at.”
this second book on the series was much more emotional than the first one, and it gave a lot more information about the characters and their relationship dynamics. I love Cole and his personality, and I love Breana too. I love their relationship dynamic. I love that this series doesn't drag much about who falls first and who declares first their love,I mean, I love the whole mate or mating thing. I love that you get drawn to your soulmate and you just know and only focus on mating with them......somehow I wish it was like that with real life and it is a nice feature about this series and kind makes it different from any other dark romance books I have read.
I found this loose sequel to Alpha Inmate easy to read, but it didn’t hit the spot for me.
She’s an omega journalist, he’s an alpha serial killer who knows that she’s his mate at first sniff. Despite that set up, I think the story needed more tension and I was definitely skim-reading at times.
(Or am I just burnt out on unhinged/obsessive MMCs?? What is happening here.)
Someone confiscate my kindle. Why am I up at 3.40am giggling at a kitten. Was this original ? No. Was this well written ? Eh. Am i frothing at the mouth consuming this shit ? Yes
2,5-3☆, lots of typos, which is almost what annoyed me the most. The smut wasn't it for me, had to cringe quite a bit. But I willingly read a dark romance, so I'm not gonna complain about the morality. Aside from all that, was a fun, short read, almost cute in a way.
Conectado con el primer libro, pero al mismo tiempo independiente, este romance es bastante rápido pero con un condimento especial: nos enamoramos de un asesino en serie. ❤️💖
