A valiant protector. A reluctant queen. A broken heart. When Mariana’s gargoyle crush Cisco kills her father, he frees her from the cycle of abuse that held her captive. Cisco urges her to flee Las Vegas before anyone can stop her. But Mari knows two things for if she leaves Cisco won’t survive, and she can’t live with that. The opportunity to transform her city with the person she’s yearned for so long ignites a fiery passion she can’t resist. She decides to rule the Demon King’s criminal empire by Cisco’s side and heal the harm her father caused. His cruel legacy runs deep—right through the heart of Rio, a puma shifter who was the first to see the gentle soul beneath Cisco’s rocky exterior. The steamy moments of solace the three share don’t last long, because the city is crawling with her father’s allies, out seeking fortune and revenge. Mari must race to unlock the secrets of her sensual powers before everything they’ve strived for is ripped away. Hers to Rule is the scorching introduction to a series that explores the intimate lives of the paranormal denizens of Sin City. If you enjoy spicy, fast burns with a side of action, a sassy heroine finding her power, and multiple partners, this book is for you.

This book was back to back spice. I swear every chapter had spice. It had an interesting plot that had me hooked. The FMC is a s*x witch who was pretty much locked up by her father who ran the whole city and would hurt anyone who tried to get close to her. The MMCs were already together and the Gargoyle one, Cisco, takes over. That's how the story starts. Cisco and Mari always wanted eachother but it was forbidden and with her father out of the way she can have him and his bonded, Rio. So instead of there being spice sprinkled in with the plot. It's plot sprinkled in with the spice. I mean the spice is how she fuels her magic and how her magic is able to do other things. Trying not to give too much away. Let's just say, this is one of the spiciest books I've ever read, and that's the majority of what I read. If you're looking for a high spice book that's full of magic, Witches, Gargoyles, and Shifters, this is for you.
took me a while to get through this one because it was so damn horny LMFAO. but when they finally stopped fucking long enough for the plot to seep through, i was all in. and now??? i cannot WAIT for book two. this was a delicious read, but too much at some points. like the first 55% of the book was just sex but phewww it was still good. will definitely stick around for book 2
This is a steamy paranormal and monster romance that has amazing diversity and an incredible polyamorous throuple. The story kicks off when Mariana's gargoyle crush kills her abusive father. Mariana decides to stay and help rule her father's criminal empire alongside Cisco, rather than fleeing the city. This entangles her in a web of power struggles and dangerous alliances.
This is a story about Mari's empowerment and reclaiming her own power. Mariana's growth from a captive to a confident queen of an empire is compelling, and watching her embrace her newfound strength and sensual powers is the biggest highlight of the story.
Another thing I loved was its diverse and well-crafted characters, especially the romantic relationship. The relationship between the three is beautifully written, with each character bringing something unique and essential to the table. Their emotional and physical bonds are intense and deeply satisfying, making the spicy scenes not just hot but also meaningful.
However, the book leans heavily towards the spice; it's about 80-90% smut. For readers who enjoy a high ratio of steam to plot, this will be a delight. The romantic and spicy elements are well-crafted and engaging, making for a very passionate read. Yet, for those who prefer a more balanced mix of plot and romance (ie: me) the book might feel somewhat lacking. The world-building, while intriguing, feels like it's only skimmed the surface. The lore and supernatural elements hinted at are fascinating, and I found myself wanting more exploration and development in these areas. The potential for a richly textured world is there, but not anywhere near the focus.
It excels in creating a vibrant connection between its characters. If you're in the mood for a spice-heavy read with a touch of the supernatural and don't mind a plot that serves as more of a backdrop to the central relationships, this book will not disappoint. Thanks to R&R Booktours and the author for the opportunity to read and review. This review is based on a complimentary pre-released copy and it is voluntary.
4.25 ⭐️ THIS IS THE BEGINNING OF A SERIES AND I DIDN'T KNOWWWW
I went into this book thinking it was a standalone, and let me tell you, it very much is not! Now I’m sitting here, foaming at the mouth, because I need to know what happens next! Mari, Rio, and Cisco are such fantastic characters—each of them brings something unique to the table, and their dynamic is so compelling that I couldn’t help but get completely invested. But that ending? Oh man, it left me with this gnawing sense of worry for them. Like, what’s going to happen now? Are they going to be okay? I’m genuinely concerned, and I need answers!
You can bet I’ll be diving into the next book as soon as humanly possible.
Also, I usually write more in-depth reviews, but with this one? Honestly, I have no notes. It’s just pure, unadulterated fun. This book is all vibes—sexy, chaotic, and utterly addictive vibes.
Is it perfect? Probably not. Is it a great time, though? Hell yes!
🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️/5 - This is really spicy. Mari is a succubus/sex witch, so her way of powering up is to, well… get herself lots of Os, if you catch my drift. Let’s just say the heat level is through the roof, and it absolutely delivers on the steam.
If you’re looking for a book that’s equal parts fun, flirty, and full of tension, this is it. I’m hooked, and I can’t wait to see where this series goes next!
HERS TO RULE was definitely extra sexy but it felt like I got dumped into the middle of a book and I was missing a whole bunch of stuff to set up the world and the characters. Plus Mari and Cisco were already basically in love and just immediately started a relationship that included Rio. All the emotional and romantic moments had already happened and this was pretty much just the sex.
I believe this is my first paranormal erotica. And when I say Erotica I mean with a Big E not the little one. I honestly was almost a little annoyed with how much banging they did. But mostly because I had a feeling once we got to the plot I was going to be all in and I was right!! As soon as the plot picked up I was hooked. I’m glad I wanted for all these to come out before I started this series because as much as I love build-a-harem, my patiences is shorter, than with other romantasy or PNR. The pacing of this is a bit slow because of how much smex is had and very little of it moves the plot. The relationships are also already established which I always find less satisfying because it takes more effort for me to form an attachment to the characters. I wasn’t quite there by the end but again the emergence of the plot has my full attention. Moore is a sort of new to me author but I always had a good feeling about her work. And she didn’t disappoint! I can’t wait to tell the bookclub about this one!
This book was EXACTLY what I needed and I am so glad I finally got to read it! I unhinged my jaw and gobbled up this story whole and am SO well fed. 😂 There was so much smut packed into this quick read that I was having the time of my life. We get a little bit of why choose (MMF), we get some fun dom/sub dynamics, a sprinkle of mafia and a whole lot of fun monster romance action. This was PERFECTION and I cannot believe the third act introduction... and what this might mean for the rest of the series! I must keep reading!
This was pure smut and while I do enjoy a good smutty read, I need something else to happen alongside it. In Hers to Rule, it felt like nothing really happened until the last two chapters, and even then, the plot was sprinkled between more sex scenes.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m here for spice, but I also want some storyline to keep me invested. This book had so many back-to-back scenes that even I needed a break. A little more balance would have made a huge difference.
If you're looking for erotica developing into romance, where the physical and sexual components of the story are the main plot and the conflict is definitely not the top priority here lol, then this is the book for you!
We're kinda plopped into this book right when Mari's father is killed, and she must learn how to rule the city with her sex magic, or risk losing her place and territory to those who would like to retaliate. I felt like we, the reader, wasn't really sure what's going on, but honestly so is Mari, since her father sheltered her from everything growing up. Along with her is Cisco, the gargoyle who has looked out for her the best he could for years, and Rio, his shifter mate.
What I loved about this is that there is a connection between all three here, and they all have their own relationships together as a throuple and also separately as couples. Cicso is definitely the alpha here, but there are moments with the other two get to be a bit more demanding as well. Rio is a sweetie and I adore him.
This is a very, very high heat book. I think there is a physical scene in nearly every chapter in the first part of the book. Towards the end of this book is when we start to learn a bit more about others, about what is going on in the town, and the risk of Mari's sex magic and what it's been fueling. Honestly, this is when the story kinda kicked it up a gear for me, as I admit that I always want more story in a book.
I'm definitely intrigued and I'm going right away to start the next book in this trilogy!
This was a fun and easy read. Hers To Rule is definitely more spice than plot, but sometimes that's exactly what you want! We have a throuple between Mari, a sex witch, Cisco, a gargoyle, and Rio, who is a puma shifter. The spice definitely be spicing! With that ending, I am definitely curious to see where this goes and who these new characters are 👀.
Rating: 3.75 out of 5 stars
CW: sexual content, child abuse, violence.
Thank you to the author for a copy for review. All opinions are my own.
Oh. My. Gosh. This was definitely spicy. I loved it. Cisco, Rio, and Mari are all just so perfect, but I especially love Cisco 😭 This is my first book ever with a sex witch FMC and I love it! My eyes are opened!
A steamy paranormal read! This was a fast burn spicy book with a dash of suspense and action.
I enjoyed the overall story and then the ending… ooh makes me excited for what will happen next!
There were a lot of exciting tropes in this one such as bdsm, polyamory relationship, found family, touch him/her/them and xxx, loads of steam, royalty, worship her, hurt/comfort, and so much more!
WOWZA! This book is pure 🌶️🔥💦 the first 12 chapters is continued sex I was up till the wee hours to get through it! It slowed after that but didn’t stop. The storyline was actually mixed into the sex well and it’s a goooooood story that unfolds in the last two chapters in time for a cliffhanger.
FMM these three are HOTT. Some beautiful Erotic reading here if you need a Smut Slut fix this is it. But that’s not all there is to this story, there is also trauma and healing that is tender and heart wrenching. The author shows how beautifully brokenness can be and I wept more than once.
Triggers are light mostly the effects a light convos of past trauma endured.
There is intrigue, mystery, WTF moments, and sex! Grab the free prequel for a taste!
Gleeful Goblin Review: This book starts off with a dark and velvety tone right away in how it introduces two of our MC's. Not only in how we are immediately in the direct aftermath of a demon Mafia style power struggle/coup, but our FMC is in negotiations with one of our MMC's about their relationship moving forwards. To give some perspective this is just a brief taste of how that goes down: “And me and Rio are also non-negotiable.” He smiled slightly. “I’m bound to him. I don’t have to share you with him, but I will still be with him.” Mari didn’t know a lot about gargoyles, but she did know that while they were polyamorous, once bonded to a partner, they bonded for life. She’d suspected for a while Cisco was bound to Rio, but they hadn’t spoken about it before. Though he could take lovèrs, and even bond with others, nothing would part him from Rio; and in any case, she wouldn’t want to. “I don’t mind if you share me, with Rio or otherwise.” His fingers tightened on her chin. He considered her again, searching her face for a moment that drew out long. “You know what I like, then?” he asked gruffly. She swallowed and fought not to look away from his gaze, though she could feel the blush rising in her cheeks. She’d thought about this a lot, especially when she was alone in her room late at night. “I snuck out after one of the parties and watched through the window of the barracks.” Rio, Cisco, and a few others had shared one woman, passing her around between them while all of them watched and enjoyed themselves. At the time, she’d wanted to be that woman. Even now, the thought of it made her breath catch. He whispered a curse in Spanish under his breath. “Is that something you’d want to try?” She looked away, now truly too embarrassed to cope. “Only if you think it would help.” He squeezed her chin gently until she met his eyes again. “So not good enough. Not for that.” She licked her lips. “Yes.” His gaze burned into hers. “Say it. So I know you understand.” Mari exhaled a shaky sigh. She didn’t know what something like that would do to her power, but the prospect of it made something shiver along her veins. Her father had kept her chained in more ways than one. The necklace he’d magically fastened around her neck had siphoned her power for him to use, never letting it build in a way that was natural. “I’d like you to share me with people you trust and then take me yourself at the end.” His expression sharpened into something more feral than she’d ever seen. “I’ll consider it.” He moved his hand to hold her neck. “Yes, I’m okay with all of this.” His thumb traced a small circle. “And I’m glad you didn’t leave, because I’ve wanted you for a long time.” She shivered at the sincerity in his voice. “There was no world where I would have left you alone in this to be destroyed. Not after you freed me.”
This is the **baseline** for intensity and steam for this book. Be prepared with ice water and a fan and then have fun. 5/5 Stars
💥 Hers to Rule – Buckle up, it’s about to get spicy!
Sin City just got a whole lot hotter! 🌶️✨
If you’re ready for a paranormal rollercoaster loaded with steamy scenes, a fierce FMC discovering her power, and a why choose vibe that’s 🔥 off the charts, then grab this one ASAP.
Hers to Rule is one of those books that’s got you fanning yourself by chapter one. Every page is packed with heat, magic, and just the right amount of danger!
Our girl Mariana is a s*x witch who’s been trapped her whole life by her Demon King father—until her long-time gargoyle crush Cisco takes him out.
“If you don’t leave now, I won’t be able to let you go.” Cisco’s been protecting Mari forever, and now that she’s free? She’s sticking around to rule by his side and finally claim what’s hers… which includes Cisco and his panther-shifter partner, Rio.
It’s the ultimate grumpy/sunshine + sunshine mash-up, and these three? They’re as soul-bound as it gets. 🔥💀✨
📖 Quotes to Live (and Swoon) By: “I don’t mind if you share me, with Rio or otherwise.” – You know a line like this is going to bring all the heat, and boy, does it ever! “You know what I like, then?” Cisco growls, and Mari is all in. She’s finally free to discover her power, and the tension? Chef’s kiss. 👌
With Mari trying to piece together her broken heart and heal her city, there’s a real “touch them and die” vibe from Cisco that will have you weak. He’s pure grump with a heart of gold, while Rio adds softness that’s just the right amount of sweet to go with all that spice. Together, they’re like fireworks and, trust me, the fire is REAL.
You’ll be hooked by their loyalty, their love, and, yes, their absolutely sizzling scenes.
And if the soul-deep connections and nonstop spice weren’t enough, there’s a city full of dark secrets, revenge-seekers, and Mari’s own powers to untangle. Watching her come into her own—and the moments between the three of them that are steamy, intense, and vulnerable—will keep you glued to the page. Sin City better watch out, because Mariana and her boys are here to rule.
✨ If you want a book where every page practically crackles with heat, magic, and emotions that hit deep, Hers to Rule is it. So light that candle, grab a cozy spot, and get ready to meet your new favorite trio!
Ok, look, here's the thing. I've been reading a fair bit of smut lately, and I'm mostly enjoying it.
But I also like plot. Storyline. World-building. Something to really get into the story, aside from the sex.
But this book is, like, 80% sex. And that might be a low estimate.
Also, the story starts with the characters already knowing and being into each other, so there's no real development in their relationship. They start banging, like, on Chapter 1 and they do not stop. It got to the point where it stopped being titillating or interesting, and literally was just kind of boring. Like, oh, look - more sex.
The reason I'm not rating it lower is because what scraps of plot there are seem like they could actually be interesting and turned into a decent story. I want to learn more about this Las Vegas which has a whole cadre of magical beings and shifters and apparently has a
Also, I've been into gargoyles since, well, Gargoyles. (I always wanted Goliath and Elisa to get together.)
So, I do plan on reading the next in the series, but I'm really hoping for a better balance between the story and the smut. Like, ok, I get Mariana is a sex-witch whose been forcibly abstinent(ish) because of her father, so maybe she just has a lot of get out of her system?
Also - I'd like more development in the characters and their relationship. Mariana and Cisco and Rio might already know each other, but we don't, and we only get glimpses of their personalities in this. They're also declaring their undying love after a week of sex, but you never really see them be together in ways that aren't sex.
So, yeah, I'm hoping for a little more story in the next installment. Hell, I'd settle for 50/50... but this 10% story, 90% sex is a little too much for me.
This is one of those books that I want to tell readers to have clear expectations on when diving in. It's extremely spicy, as in 10/10 red hot chili peppers! However, there is also a fascinating story that has me hooked and ready for book two!
When we begin the series, there is already a relationship in place (Cisco and Rio) and a yearning that has gone on for years (Cisco and Mari). Their interactions were limited and love was certainly forbidden between them (by her father, the leader). This is a great lead in to the spice that makes its presence known right away. Our main female character Mari is a literal sex witch, so there is plenty of sex seeing as how that is how her magic is fed. I loved watching her powers unfold, as they had been kept on lockdown by her father for her whole life. The whole book is dealing with the aftermath of Cisco killing her father and how the two of them are going to rule in his place.
One of the things I liked about this book the most is the incredibly diverse cast of characters and the inclusivity of polyamorous relationships. There is a lot of suspense and intrigue, of course, and my absolute FAVORITE part was the introduction of a new character near the end, whom I suspect is going to be a major part of the storyline in the continuation of the series. I am pretty much feral for what this character is going to do as we go forward.
Thank you to Luna Blooms LLC and the author for the opportunity to read and review Hers to Rule with my honest thoughts and opinions prior to publication!
⭐️ 5/5 stars – Hers to Rule gave me everything—filthy spice, soft worship, and a main character who takes back her power like a damn queen. It’s bi, it’s kinky, it’s healing, and honestly? I ate it up.
🌶️ 4/5 Spice Rating –It’s hot, it’s heavy, and it has wings. We’re talking magical orgasms, exhibitionism, and a bi demon king who calls you “princesa” while his gargoyle boyfriend kisses your thighs.
🖤 2.5/5 Darkness Rating – Most of the darkness in Hers to Rule is trauma processed through sexuality, not violence for violence’s sake. I mean, we absolutely have daddy issues—but it’s less about suffering and more about ripping the crown from your abuser’s cold dead hands.
⸻ What I Loved:
Mari doesn’t just survive—she rules. I loved watching her step into her power (sexually and magically) on her own terms, not because some man handed it to her. Cisco, and Rio worship Mari— She’s not an object of desire; she’s the center of gravity to them, and the way Rio was written with softness and reverence. Swoon. The magic system is hot. Like, orgasms-as-energy-source hot. And I’ll never get over how the whole book turns pop culture’s “sexy but silent sorceress” trope on its head—this witch talks back, takes control, and wears frilly panties while doing it.
⸻ Overall thoughts:
It’s sexy, it’s empowering, it’s full of heat and heart—and it’s only book one. The writing’s lush and voicey in a way that makes every scene feel intimate. Cisco brings the growls, Rio brings the purrs, and Mari? She takes the power that was stolen from her and makes everyone watch as she uses it. Honestly, I finished it and immediately wanted more—not because it didn’t satisfy, but because it made me hungry. Thankfully I have the whole series already on deck
Phew! For paranormal/monster romance lovers who enjoy their books smutty, this one is for you! Plus, if you also enjoy whychoose or polyamory, you’re going to love this book.
Oh boy, was this book steamy! Knowing that our FMC, Mariana, is a s*x witch who had her powers suppressed by her father and is finally free, I can understand why this book was heavy on the spice. She and her magic are finally free. During this time, she’s letting out a lot frustration while also trying to navigate her powers. Trying to find balance and control as she steps into her new role as Queen of Sin City. And ruling at her side, she has her powerful, protective, and sexy men - Cisco, a gargoyle, and Rio, a puma shifter.
I really loved the dynamic between these three characters. The author wrote the spicy scenes so well. It’s graphic but you can feel the emotion behind each character and their deep desire, love and devotion to each other.
I personally would have preferred a little less spicy scenes because once the story took a turn to focus on the plot, I was even more reeled into this book. I just enjoyed this paranormal world the author created and I wanted to know more about. I’m looking forward to the next book and hope that there will be more world building and character development.
Overall, I would recommend this book if you enjoy these tropes: Soulbonds ⛓️ Polyamory 💞 Emotional Scars 💔 Healing Together 🩹 Forbidden Love 💗 Grumpy/Sunshines ☀️ Touch Them and Die 💀 Found Family 😊 Spicy, Fast Burn 🌶️ Discovering Her Power ✨ Secrets and Intrigue 🔍
A big Thank You to the author and R&R Book Tours for the physical copy and review opportunity! 🫶🏼
This is a PNR set in Las Vegas, where everyone lives under the rule of an abusive tyrant. Our story is about Mari, Cisco and Rio. Mari is the daughter of said tyrant and a $ex witch. Her father binds her powers in a certain way that keeps her weak and uneducated about her abilities. He only uses her power for the wards of the city. Cisco works for her father and ends up taking matters into his own hands (if you get what I’m saying). This is MMF. Cisco and Rio are bonded and when they save the princess (essentially like a mafia princess) the story unfolds to tell the tale of them growing without being abused and taking over Las Vegas and being able to find comfort in each other. We know Rio had been harmed deeply by Mari’s father (abused as a means to get to Cisco, as well as something unknown at this point in the series that involved the $ex club owned by the tyrant and now the 3 of them)Lots of $exy times, there a tail involved, gargoyle, puma shifter, sensual piercings, tattoos as rewards, a little D/s action, public displays and I’m sure there’s more I forgot :) ENJOY!
Triggers & kinks (I’m not the best at this so read them for yourself to be sure you’re ok)
Physical abuse of all MCs Emotional abuse of all MCs Forcing MCs to hurt people they don’t want to hurt Auctioning of V under duress (forcing a spell to be used so she doesn’t remember and is sedated) Missing parent
Dress up (picking out clothes ) Dirty talk D/s (not overt) Orgasm denial Piercing of private places Pleasure with pain (not overt)

~~4.5 stars~~ This was my first time reading this author. This book jumps right into the middle of a coup (picture paranormal mob-ish group) where we meet our main characters- a sex witch, gargoyle and puma shifter.
Things to be aware of: - there is MM (if that's not your jam move along but don't yuk someone else's yum) - there is talk of physical, emotional and mental abuse that happened previously - there is talk of r@pe incidents that previously happened to characters as well as other characters that you don't really get to know much - there is some BDSM described in detail - there is body piercing described in detail - cliffhanger: its part of a series, you should expect this as it propels you into the next book :-)
Things I loved: - the spicy scenes were creative, emotionally intimate as well as physical, MMF, some more public-ish than others - the dynamics between the main characters and how they adjusted through the book in their relationships with each other - the trickle of previous experiences and details of how harsh and cruel life was prior to the coup are sprinkled through the book tastefully and in a way that helps move the plot forward - the ending- holy crap didn't see that coming!!! - FMC grew into herself as she learned how to spread her wings
Things I wasn't as fond of: - the middle seemed to slow a bit in its pacing
Oh things are definitely about to heat up after that ending of Hers to Rule, Book 1 in the Scorching in Sin City series!
If you are a fan of Paranormal Romance that happens to be a Why Choose - MMF, Fast Burn, Found Family, Soulbounds, Emotional Scars, Healing Together, and so much more, this one is for you!
In Hers to Rule, we follow along with Mari, Cisco and Rio after the fall of Mari’s father and them navigating how to rule the empire now that he is gone. Mari, is a sex witch whose powers run magical wards around the entire city and Cisco and Rio are more than happy to help power those wards 😏
Cisco, a gargoyle, tries to get Mari to leave the city but she won’t leave without him and he won’t leave Rio. Rio, a puma shifter, is very timid after the things he had to deal with at the hands of Mari’s father. I loved seeing Mari break down Rio’s walls as they both started healing together as they took comfort in each other.
Mari must learn how to harness her power after it has been repressed for so long in order to rule her father’s empire. She will stop at nothing to prove that things can be better with her, Cisco and Rio working as a team.
With her father’s enemies coming out do the woodwork she has to dig deep and unleashes something she just might regret. I can’t wait to read what happens next with these three!
If you love your paranormal why choose romance heavy on the spice and less focused on the story then Hers to Rule is a must read. This book is STEAMY.
Mari is a sex witch enslaved by her father to keep the magical wards around Las Vegas powered. She is caught in a cycle of abuse and imprisonment unable to use and develop her magic. Her only true connection is with her gargoyle guard Cisco who has the power to wipe her memories as well as keep her safe. When he overthrows the Demon King and takes control of Las Vegas, Maris has the choice to run and be safe or to remain beside Cisco to help him rule this world of magic and supernatural beings.
I loved this book as you get to watch Mari come into her power and take control of her sexuality. After a lifetime of enslavement and hidden moments of intimacy, Mari is free to explore and love and claim her gargoyle love. And in loving him she also opens her heart to his bonded partner Rio, a panther shifter with submissive tendencies.
The power dynamics between the three are fun to explore and Mari shines within their care and with Cisco to challenge her emotionally, physically and sexually.
This is a great opener to a series exploring the powerful supernatural beings of Las Vegas.
This book is spiiiiicy, spicy, spicy monster romance goodness. Honestly, I don’t give the four spice rating lightly so if you’re looking for a hot as hell monster romance read them look no further.
I thought the pacing and plot of this book was excellent, I felt like the story definitely centred around the main characters are their relationship rather than the overarching mafia plot line but I didn’t mind that in the slightest. You are provided with intense emotional and physical interactions and then brought back to the plot itself which draws you through the story.
There is clearly character development evident as the book progresses and this was lovely to see, you definitely get to know and become emotionally attached to the characters and seeing the beautifully vulnerable moments is an absolute pleasure to read. The relationship between Mari, Cisco and Rio feels incredibly natural from very early on and this allows you to relax into the book without the relationships tension when there is plenty other tension to be had.
Every word in the book feels deliberate and well placed, I feel like we’ve only had a peek into this world, dipped a toe into the water so to speak, and that there is so much more to come.
“Would you worship at my feet with the rest of them?” she murmured against his lips. His response was immediate and fervently honest. “Without question.”
Dirty. Depraved. Sick. Spicier than a jalapeño.
I loved it. This is a quick read, but starts off strong lead and ends with a killer cliffhanger. This isn’t a book for all audiences, and is only suitable for audiences 18+. Please check trigger warnings.
The story had interesting plot lines that were well thought out. We had layers of magic, shifts, and other magical creatures. We had explanations of magical powers and great detail of the political structure that Mari’s life surrounded. I believe this story had good world building in the midst of all the sexual relations. I had fun reading this and it was a nice break in the midst of all my deep fantasy reads. Sometimes, you just want quick and dirty. This author provided that and more.
Typically why chose is something I don’t gravitate towards but honestly this story may have expanded my horizons. I loved the dynamic between all of them and thought the relationships had balance. For someone who doesn’t read this flavor I thought it was a nice introduction to the world of why chose.
Well, this was a spicy ride! Mari is a s£x witch who gains power and fuels the wards surrounding her Las Vegas kingdom through ✨️extracurricular activities✨️. When her crush eliminates her father, Mari decides to take over with the victorious gargoyle at her side. His other partner, a submissive puma shifter, completes their triad. Together, they fuel the wards and take over ruling Las Vegas for the paranormals. That much I expected. What I didn't expect was for the spice to start 6% in and basically never stop. Im not complaining, but it felt like the plot only really picked up at the end. Otherwise, it took a firm backseat to the spice. The spice was well-written, so it was definitely not hard to get into the characters' dynamics as a group as they explored. There were some good secondary characters that I'd like to see explored further in the rest of the series. However, this book revolves primarily around the three main characters. The hint at a fourth character that may join their gang was promising, as he seems like one to explore some dark desires. I look forward to seeing where the author takes this story!
This is Book 1 in the Scorching in Sin City series!
Mariana is a sex witch who is very powerful and whose power runs the wards in the city. She has been under her father’s thumb her whole life until Cisco killed him and freed her. Mari, Cisco, a gargoyle and Rio, a puma shifter are a newly formed throuple. They are testing their limits and finding their place. And it’s hot af. Rio, had been hurt by Mari’s father and she is helping heal him with trust and comfort. Cisco is the dominant one of the three and leads.
