This was pretty good. It was about a woman, named Lily that had a shady past that she was trying overcome. She ended up being confronted by it because the past wouldn't rest. Someone in her past was stalking and harassing her. She was a musician, singer, and song-writer who turned her life around and turned to God and church. She became a better person for it I think. Her boyfriend who was a youth minister eventually found out everything about her and he still loved her in the end. I didn't think the ending would be happy though because she decided to leave everyone in the end. She felt because of her past, she deserved to be alone, so that is why she was leaving. But, as fate would have it, Her boyfriend went after her. She went home in the end and was loved. I loved the ending it was so touching. It made me cry. I felt this was a true story in some ways. Sometimes you feel you deserve to be mistreated or alone because of this or that. It is sad road and heartbreaking.

Book 2
This book is totally independent from the other books in this series. I found no connection between the first two books...
Lilly:
Lilly is the heroine in this story. The story is unique in that the book starts out with a couple already dating. Lilly has had a really tough life and her past seems to be now coming back to haunt her. But Lilly has some real issues. At the beginning of the story, she is supposed to go out with her boyfriend for their six-month anniversary. Greg has been so excited about this that she KNOWS he's going to propose to her. So she says she sick and stays home, thinking it's time for her to run again before "He" finds her. A week later, Lilly decides that it was all a misunderstanding. She sets up arranges for her and Greg to go on the same date they were going to go on in a week, then is completely clueless when he isn't receptive...
Gee...I wonder why????
Greg:
He's a youth minister in his church. He's head over heels in love with Lilly. But he is upset with the fact that his girlfriend, who claims she loves him, won't tell him the secrets of her past. Naturally, he's upset.
I like Greg. I mean, I really, really like Greg. I thought he did right in cooling his heels as far as Lilly was concerned. I just could not force myself to feel sorry for Lilly's love problems when she treated Greg like total crap. Don't get me wrong, I liked Lilly too. Her story is horrible, and I'm so glad she turned things around. But I thought that what she did to Greg was horrible.
The suspense was great. I found myself disappointed a few times, but I read this book in one setting. The romance was good too - even though Lilly was exasperating...I'm glad Greg loved her...

Another 5 Star book by Linda Hall.
Someone is trying to destroy Lilly or so it seems. There really isn't a part where you might be at a good point to put the book down.
With the types and amount of work being done to the church, floors being left gaping open without more than the yellow warning tape across the openings and stairways being totally gone, and lights that would no longer work, while the church is still occupied, is not believable. At the start of the book, with Lilly's hands and arms apparently full, she shoulders open the church door to find yellow warning tape marking a gaping hole in the floor. No mention of danger or warning on the door. None, at least that was apparent to her. Being so occupied, she could easily have landed in that hole. In reality, the door should have been locked and the church-goers would have known in advance to use another entrance.
In this book, we are reminded how the old has passed away and all things become new in Christ. Lilly is fortunate she found people who are familiar with that and for whom they are not words only. She found God's loving acceptance of her through a stranger's concern and kindness when she needed it most.

ONCE AGAIN, LINDA HALL DOESN'T DISAPPOINT!

Lilly Carolynne Johnson works part-time at a music shop, takes music classes and volunteers with a church youth advocacy group. Her boyfriend, youth pastor Greg Whitten is on the verge of proposing when Lilly starts getting pictures from her past. Lilly has been trying to change her life, become Christian and forget her past. It seems that someone she thought was dead is stalking her. Gradually she begins to open up to her friends and boyfriend and they work to uncover the stalker. Story was fast paced and suspenseful. The friends and love interest were there for her. My problem with this story was the continued self-doubt of the heroine when everyone was on her side.

I really enjoyed this book. Keep in mind that I never find time to read a book, but read this in one night. I did so while showering kids, getting them to bed and trying to relax. It is about a young woman who is finding she is a new creation in Christ. She thinks she is not good enough for her boyfriend, the church's youth pastor. Can you see why I might like this one. I'll let you see how it ends for yourself.

I don't always enjoy books written in the first person but this story kept my attention. It is well written and a quick, fun read.
