The Evernight Court

Rate this book
The Evernight brothers are determined to have me, and now that I’m all alone, trapped in their castle, it’s only a matter of time before one of them claims me.

And there is nothing I can do about it.

Grey is gone, sucked in by a hole in the sky, and I’m all alone, surrounded by the Evernights. Surrounded by brides and a whole nation of Enchanted who hate my guts, who blame me for Grey’s banishment.

The brothers are looking for reasons to punish me and force me to become theirs. Sooner or later they’ll succeed—if I don’t find a way to protect myself first.

You should bed them, all of them, and you’ll have more magic power than you could have dreamed of, they tell me.

Grey is gone—why are you loyal to a dead man? they say.

You will be ours, one way or the other…

Fuck that. I will do whatever it takes to survive these monsters wearing human faces—especially when I find out that not all is lost yet. There’s a chance that Grey is still alive, trapped in a dark isle, unable to come to me, so I have to find a way to him instead.

Secrets surround me. People with hidden agendas try to get to me, and something very big and very bad is about to happen in the Seven Isles. So big that there’s a good chance nobody will survive it—so of course Valentine is involved.

Whatever happens, one thing is I will go to the ends of the world to find Grey, even if what I find when I get there will scar me for life.

***This book contains very explicit romantic scenes.

After Grey's banishment, Fall is one big emotional bruise, I couldn't help but empathize with her. There were tears, there was just this underlying sadness for most of the book. I really enjoyed Fall's evolution from the first book to this one. Now that Grey is gone it's up to her to rescue herself. Amazingly enough, she's doing it. She's still making questionable decisions but at least she's doing something.

Fall isn't the only one who has changed. Everyone's mask has come fully off. I knew the Evernight brothers were monsters, I'm mostly speaking about Romin, Emil, and Tristan. However, now I have mixed feelings about Valentine. He's different but not and there have been some reveals and key moments that make me think he isn't the devil. Valentine is complicated and I don't know how I will feel about him in the end but I do hope he has a redemption arc because at one point I did like him.

The story was incredible. Crap is going down and people are oblivious. Well, Fall knows but Fall is going a little crazy and she had help getting there. There is some nefarious plot happening and there are a lot of pieces. Multiple people are planning something. Are they in on it together or do each have their own plans? It was killing me that I couldn't figure out. A lot of new stuff about the Isles gets revealed, including more about the curse, and there was more magic which was freaking awesome.

Holy crap, what an ending. Hoxa blew me away with The Evernight Court, I think my heart stopped for a few seconds. I saw it coming but didn't want to believe it. Then Hoxa hits me right in the gut with those last few lines. Just when I had hope everything went to crap. Again. Gods, I can't wait until the next book. I might be willing to make some kind of Faustian deal to get it sooner rather than later.

Ok this one was better. But I'm frustrated that out the gate she didn't start researching where and what happens when vampires get banished in the library Grey has. That would be the very first thing I'd do.

That, and try to find Storm. Why TF did she not try to find Storm and get to him??

Ooohhh got it. We had to slog through 60% of the book first before she finally had the idea and got a move on. 😶

In a word, YES!!! D.N. Hoxa has once again pulled me into a series that I voraciously devour. Book 2 kept me just as engaged as the first book of the series. Once I started, I could not put it down - sleep really isn’t necessary, right?

This continues right where the first book left off. Grey is gone and Fall is on her own. But it doesn’t take long for Fall to realize that she needs to take action and soon. It is during this time that Fall really comes into her own. It takes a while, and some rather brutal truths, for her to accept that she needs to do what she must to get what she needs. And along the way, she figures out more of what she is capable of as well as the danger and treachery that surrounds them all. Who to trust is the biggest question of all – and one Fall has still been unable to fully answer.

I loved this story, and I can’t wait to see how it continues to evolve. The world building is vivid without being effusive and the plot is thoroughly engaging. I usually try and wait until a series is complete before reading it because this waiting for the next book thing drives me nuts! The cliffhanger, while not a complete surprise, still has me looking for the release date of book 3. I have ordered each paperback as it comes out because the ebook is just not enough.

Rcvd an advanced reader copy from the author for giving my two cents. Wow...author wow! We left off with Grey being banished by Ronin for smtg Valentine did. Fall is all alone now and there are 4 brothers who want a piece of Fall and 3 are making sure she knows it. By some miracle, she forbids them from entering her tower...aka Grey's tower as he gifted it to her...small miracles. Fall is grief stricken with everyone telling her grey is gone for good. At a party meant for her, she meets the important people from the surrounding areas who give her gifts. And of course Mama Si is there and Fall wants nothing to do with her but she is will be a civil as she possibly can to a woman who manipulated her. The other brides want her gone, the brothers want her blood except for Valentine. Fall sneaks out one night to see the town and ends up being robbed by Quinn. Fall will pay her to teach her how to fight plus Quinn tells her she has lots of power...pfft...as if. One night she sees the siren speaking to a man about a plan. Something is a foot and it's not good. Fall is determined to find out what is going on and hatches a plan...but will this plan cost her her life or will it be her salvation? Can't give too much detail bc u need to read the OMG moments, and see the drama unfold.

The Evernight Court picks up the story from the first books dramatic ending and hits the ground running!
Fall’s grief at her love Grey having been banished is a heart breaker and leads the reader into another immersive journey through a wonderfully imagined world of twisted enchantment.
With the Vampire brothers determined to make her theirs and not at all upset over their brother Greys removal from the equation the plot is definitely thickening.
Fall is smart though and finds ways to keep herself out of their claws while trying to find a way to get Grey back.
Not knowing who you can trust in this world riddled with intrigue and subterfuge will make her task a difficult one but faith, hope, and love are on her side, and maybe the magic inside her that just needs a little tweaking to take things to the next level.
I devoured this book and found it another well done continuation of action, adventure, captivating writing and myriad cast of characters both good and bad that kept the suspense taunt and flowing fast through the pages.
But heaven help me, with another cliffhanger ending I can only have faith myself that the third book won’t be long in coming because it was another doozy!.

pretty disappointed with this one…

the first book i really liked and finished in 5 days.

this book took me 17 days to finish. so that kinda tells me how much i was not wanting to pick this up.

i just was kind of hoping the book would go in a different direction. i think Fall using the other brothers to gain power would’ve resulted in some fun spicy scenes and would’ve felt empowering also. I don’t know…that’s just me. i was just kind of hoping for moments like that in this book but we didn’t get ANYTHING close to that.

a lot of this book is just her training and staying away from the evernight brothers. i just really didn’t find that intriguing to read about if im being honest. i wanted this book to be darker i think.

the cliffhanger got me a little bit intrigued for the next book but probably not enough to actually read it. since i doubt its going to give me what i want at this point.

but yeah not a bad book at all just wasn’t really for me or what im looking for right now!

I’m already obsessed with this series and it’s only the beginning. This has been a top read for the year for me and I finished this book in less than 24 hours because I COULD NOT stop. I’m so excited for the series to continue on. From start to finish, I was right there with Fall. From devastation to finally finding hope again. I honestly can’t wait to see where the story goes from here. Grey.. we love you. Valentine.. you’re on my shit list buddy. I don’t want to say too much or give anything away but you are MISSING OUT if you don’t give this series a chance. D.N. Hoxa has this way with writing and I’m completely in love with it.

This is the second book in the Fall of the Seven Isles series and starts right up where the first book ended. This book was an emotional rollercoaster for me. Fall was devastated about Grey being banished and I cried right along with her. My heart hurt for a lot of the story. Her growth and perseverance were amazing. Then there was hope again and then that ending kind of brought in the dread. I’m hoping Grey’s brothers have some type of redemption but I’m not sure they can. This book and series are intense and emotional and I couldn’t put them down. I’m waiting on pins and needles for the next saga.

In book one I totally thought Fall was going to choose all the vampires. That would have been a popular trope for Hoxa. But the author didn’t go the expected route for me. Instead, Fall chooses Grey and readers are left to watch and wonder what is to happen now that Grey has been banished. In this book we see Fall grow stronger and savvier. In order to figure out how to survive in a castle of vampire brothers who all want to be their baby momma, Fall uses her new strength to navigate her way back to Grey. A definite cannot put down with swoon worthy hot scenes

I have received this book free from Booksprout in exchange for my honest and willing review.

I knew it I knew it I knew it.... Ugh!!!!!

Loved this second installment of the Fall of the Seven Isles series...
Fall is devastated by Grey's banishment, she doesn't want to leave his tower. Because she knows everyone hates her and the brothers want her. Once she navigates the castle, the brothers and the forest, she meets Quinn who teaches her to fight. Then one night in the mirror room she sees Grey's silhouette and she has a plan to get Grey back, but not before Valentine gets banished and all hell is about to break loose.

Grey calling Fall his wife melted me.

Itching for book 3

Fall and Grey: love knows no bounds!

I wish my man had wings!!! D N Hoxa has made a magical world that defies logic, but love is powerful and Fall is the epitome of determination and courage! Her love for Grey gives her purpose and strength, while also making her question her sanity. I am mesmerized by this story: it’s rich, emotional, scary, and absolutely beautiful! Grey is stunning, his desire for Fall is amazing, and their reunion makes the journey worth the wait! I love the dragons, the drama, and even the danger: except for that cliffhanger. I’m so ready for that 3rd book!!!.

The Evernight Court (Book 2 of Fall of the Seven Isles) by DN Hoxa is vampire fantasy romance novel. What an exciting series that picks right up where book 1 left ofsk definitely read book 1 first. The world building is wonderful in this series. The plot is intriguing and I definitely could not put the book down. I had to know what really happened to Grey and if he really is gone. My heart is broken for Fall as she deals with her loss and is now stuck with all these characters who feel like enemies. This book delves into so much and you feel all the emotions with the characters.
This book was great and I look forward to the next one.

Book 2 picks up immediately from the end of book 1. This book is about Fall’s determination and perseverance to find Grey and keep herself safe from Grey’s brothers. It is a bit heartbreaking to read what she is going through and how she feels, especially as everyone turns on her. But remember, things aren’t always what they seem and sometimes your enemies are your only friends. There is a shocker of a cliffy at the end but don’t worry, book 3 is around the corner.

After the wild ending to the last book that made me kind of mad, I had to see what would happen to poor Fall this time since Grey is gone. And I have to say it was just as good as I thought it would be. After Fall kind of falls apart she then rallies as she must figure out how to survive. And of course there are surprises, drama, steam, danger, secrets, and Grey might be alive still to deal with. Loved watching Fall become a better character, step up to save herself, and try to figure out what was really going on. Loved it.

WOW
I am blown away with this continuation of Fall's story! It takes some deep thinking on her part to get to where this story goes. She sees Grey in a mirror, and the wheels start turning in her head. That said not much more to tell without spoilers. This ending has left me on the edge of my seat waiting for the next book! I Loved It!!!

I loved book one so was super excited to pick up where we left off. Grey has been banished and Fall is heartbroken thinking all is lost. The gloves and the masks have come off and you can truly see who the monsters are and what Fall is up against but she doesn’t back down and it was great to see her grow and gain back her hope. The world building continues to enthral and the exciting and thrilling storyline grabs you with its twists and turns and holds on tight as it leads us to book three!

I had to start this book immediately after Mama Si's. To say I didn't tear up in the first part of this book would be a lie. It starts with Fall and her broken heart and how she's not handling it well at all in the chaos of the Evernight Court, while also dealing with the pursuit of the other brothers. Yet, good things happen, adventure ensues, and then more chaos and betrayal. Plus some very spicy scenes sprinkled in there made this book incredibly hard to put down.

After Grey’s banishment at the end of the first book, I questioned if we would ever see him return. The way this story continued to twist and turn kept me at the edge of my seat, and another cliffhanger at the end has my mind in a complete jumble. One word, “Hansil,” had me flashing back to the storyteller scene, things suddenly clicking into place. I cannot wait to see how this unravels in the third book.

She is trapped all alone with the brothers but still still wants him, she hopes he still alive. They say he is dead and she should just give into them? They try to tempt her with great power but all she wants is to escape them and find him. Is he still alive? Can she escape them? What else is coming for them all? See how she gets on

Good, But A Lot.

This was a good continuation of the story. However, it was a lot. I wish there had been a stronger edit to remove some of the repetitiveness and create more flow within the story. Needless to say, the world building is still epic, and I can’t wait to read the final book.

In true Hoxa fashion, the ending made me go “WHAT?! WHY?!?”. I’m amazed at the world building that continuously grows and morphs throughout the series, along with the consistent plot twists. A great mix between urban and paranormal fantasy.

Also, I love seeing how Fall’s characters grows. I truly hope she gets a badass ending to her character arc.

Better than the first, but still with its flaws. We see the FMCs character development in this book and it was fantastic. I was so upset right alongside her. The plot was good, had the time jumps when needed to prevent repetition. Still predictable but had me hooked. There's one prediction I keep waiting for the reveal, but I guess I'll have to wait book 3.
