One of my review books for my job in a junior high library. This book in the Shockwave Social Studies series describes a number of animals that are either extinct or in danger of extinction due to illegal hunting and other human activities. An informative, high-interest book aimed at the student reading slightly below level. To build comprehension skills and bolster motivation, these titles focus on the strategies and processes that proficient readers use to understand what they read. Excellent for ESOL or remedial readers.
