Ellie is about to release the hotly anticipated sequel to her groundbreaking romance-centred video game. But a horrible accident has shattered her confidence, her best friend is pulling away, and now a brooding man has started appearing in her cottage. Maybe he’s haunting her, maybe he’s a hallucination—he’s exactly what she would choose to imagine—or maybe he’s as real as he says he is... but he never stays.
All he knows is darkness… and Ellie.
He doesn’t remember his life or even his name, but he does know that he’ll fade eventually. He can’t stay in Ellie’s sunshine forever, despite their undeniable bond. But even her world has shadows; too many things have gone wrong for them all to be accidents. As his memories slowly grow, so does his fear that Ellie is in danger of losing everything she’s worked so hard to build—and more. And so does his realization that he’ll never stop craving her. And that there is nothing he wouldn’t do to protect her.
She believes in love. And he believes in her. Together, they could defeat death itself.
A Thousand Glittering Lights is a contemporary supernatural romance with a sunshiny game-designing heroine, a brooding ghostly hero, a hateful villain, cozy moments, gothic vibes, danger, pining, found family, and plenty of spice.
This romance novel is intended for mature readers – full cw’s at jennielynnroberts.com.
Jennie Lynn Roberts believes that every kickass heroine should have control of her own story, a swoony hero to fight beside her, and a guaranteed happily ever after. Because that doesn’t always happen in real life, she began creating her own worlds that work just the way they should. And she hasn’t looked back since.
Jennie would rather be writing than doing anything else—except for spending time with her gorgeous family, of course. But when she isn’t building vibrant new worlds, she can be found nattering with friends, baking up a storm, or strolling in the woods around her home in England.
If you want to talk books, romance, movies, reluctant heroes, or just about anything else with Jennie, feel free to contact her on Facebook or Instagram But be prepared to settle in for a long chat if you bring up shifters, vampires, Star Wars, or The Princess Bride….
A THOUSAND GLITTERING LIGHTS was swoony and romantic with a touch of suspense and a mysterious MMC who has no memory of who he is or why he keeps fading out of existence. I won't spoil things but I really enjoyed this romance between Ellie and her mystery man. Both of them were loners who've isolated themselves for various reasons but together they find companionship, love, and devotion.
These two fell fast for each other but it was so beautiful; Roberts has such a talent for writing emotion into every page and I felt so much for these two. Ellie was so compassionate and understanding, even after everything comes to light, and our mystery man was protective and caring. This made a great standalone romance that I never wanted to put down.
Content Warning: side character in an abusive relationship; toxic parent relationship
A ghost romance you say? Consider my interest immediately PIQUED.
This did not disappoint. A Thousand Glittering Lights is a beautiful combination of found family, delectable spice, and complex characters I easily felt enamoured with.
There was some serious heat between Ellie and [reacted] so the spice certainly lived up to my (rather high) expectations. Heat aside though, what had me hooked from the outset was Ellie’s very clear characterisation. She’s driven, intriguing, and hugely confident in who she is as a person which had me feeling connected to her within the first few pages. Our MMC is also a treat, but I won't spoil anything for you, dear reader.
A strong-willed female game designer and mysterious man who initially doesn’t remember who he is - alongside a couple of dramatic schemes and a sprinkle of trauma - left me feeling satisfied with the journey this book takes.
My only hang-up and the reason this didn’t quite hit the five star mark is that the plot twists / 'reveals’ were all pretty predictable. I’d have loved to have been thrown off and experienced a surprise revelation somewhere along the way, but that said, it didn’t take away from how beautifully written the novel was.
If you like a spicy paranormal romance with a healthy dose of drama and found family, this is the book for you!
(A huge thank you to BookSirens for providing me with a copy of this book! The above opinions are entirely my own.)
First there was pain. Now there is panic. And then he was here. He brings me peace. But is he real? Or is he my imaginative mind telling me what I want to see and hear.
It was a beautiful day; I was riding my bicycle with a group of others when I suddenly found myself leading the pack down a steeply winding road. Then, I lost control of my bike, flying in the air. I hurt all over, couldn’t hardly breath and I wasn’t the only injured person. The man lying face down on the ground had blood coming from a wound on his head. It was my fault, he couldn’t die. He just couldn’t.
It’s been weeks and though I am mostly recovered from my physical injuries, I still can’t bring myself to drive beyond my gate. Thankfully, the online romantic fantasy game I had developed had taken off like a rocket. I had even made enough money to buy my house outside of town. It allowed me to work in peace and quiet from home, communicating through emails and the occasional phone call. Which is why I needed to talk to Vic, my best friend and right hand at work. Checking on the progress of the storyline I found dialogue and scenes I had disapproved of when they were first presented to me. Talking to Vic had only made my head hurt. She didn’t agree with the changes I had given her; she thought the altered storyline a better way to go. After I adamantly refused and insisted on my changes, she started to argue again about why I should sell my game to the large conglomerate. We had hardly ever argued, until the offer to buy my company had come up. Is this why Vic had been so cold lately, hardly speaking to me and when she did, we argued. The idea of making a quick turn around and a ton of money seemed to change people. My Falther included, he had set up the first meeting for the deal. I believed the company would turn the game into a combat storyline pulling away from my vision of a romantic fantasy. Is this why Vic and been so cold lately, hardly speaking to me and when she did, we mostly fought about anything.
I still had headaches and couldn’t think straight sometimes. When I saw him in the mirror, I was sure someone had broken into my house. But after a thorough search by me and the police we turned up nothing. Later, I heard him in the hallway. I needed to escape. Grabbing my keys I ran for the door but as I opened it, he called out to me asking him to stop, to not leave him. I soon realized I was the only one that heard or saw Jon and somehow, I was drawn to him. As the days passed, Jon and I became close. I felt he was the only one that understood my love for the program I had created and why I just couldn’t sell it. At first, Jon couldn’t remember anything, and he would fade in and out at odd times. The first thing he remembered was his name, Josh. The second was the hacker that broke into my house and tried to hack my computer to steal my game. He had looked familiar to Josh, but with a face mask he couldn’t be sure who it was.
Ellie and Josh quickly became caught up with each other while trying to stop someone from stealing her game, her hard work and even perhaps her life. They were in a race against time to catch a thief and to find out who Josh really was because they knew two things for sure; he wasn’t a figment of her imagination nor was he a ghost. Somewhere, somehow, he was alive but maybe not for much longer. This mystery, romantic, slightly paranormal tale was an easy read that twisted and turned back on itself until in the end we come full circle with all the answers. I enjoyed the alternating points of view, especially since the only one Josh could interact with was Ellie. It gave him substance and the very real impression that he was real and reaching out to Ellie we just didn’t know why at first, what their connection was. There are some spicy open bedroom door scenes, but before that there is friendship and perseverance to gather answers and outwit a pawn and a ruthless, murderous cad.
Independent reviewer for BookSirens, I was gifted my copy of this book.
Jennie Lynn Roberts has become a firm favourite, her first book blew me away and I'm still struggling to catch my breath! But those books were fantasy/paranormal, and this is a contemporary romance and I wasn't sure how I was gonna feel about this book.
I need not have worried! I loved this book, massively!
It has some many layers and subplots, or at least I thought they were subplots, until everything start to merge together and things become much MUCH clearer! I wasn't confused, not really, just at times I felt I was reading those subplots as multiple books. Once things started to come together, however, those subplots made much more sense.
I loved how I just let myelf fall into this, along with those plots, and didn't really try to figure it out as I went. I usually do, trying to put 2 and 2 together to get 4, but for some reason, I let myself flow with the book. And I am so glad I did, because I didn't see it taking that route! Ok, so maybe I did try, but only a little.
I loved that we heard not just from Ellie, but alos from the male MC and some others. I wasn't WHY we were hearing from them, as I was reading, but I have to say, they were absolutely needed for those plots to come together. Roberts NAILED how Victoria (Ellie's best friend) was dealing with things, she absolutely did.
I can't go too much into what I loved most about this book, for spoilers, but know this: I loved this book and the way it went! I cried a lot, and cheered a lot. It's deeply emotional, not just for Ellie, but for out male MC. Because :
All he knows is darkness… and Ellie.
And never has there been a more perfect tag line!
I can't fault this book, I really can't. I'd love to be able to give it more, but I can't so...
A THOUSAND GLITTERING LIGHTS is set in the contemporary world, with a game designer as our FMC. The MMC remains a mystery so I won't say anything to spoil it.
Jennie Lynn Roberts is a one-click author for me BUT I will admit to feeling slightly dubious when I saw this was a contemporary. Surely it can't be as good as her fantasy - can it? The obvious answer is YES!!! It can be just as good, in fact, I'm hard-pressed to say which I prefer.
Ellie isn't having an easy time of it and struggles to leave the safety of her cottage. Her best friend and business partner is giving Ellie plenty of excuses about why she can't be there for her. Her dad is pressuring her to sell her business. And then - out of nowhere - a man, or ghost, starts appearing to Ellie. She thinks she's going mad. And I loved it.
There is a level of mystery to this story that had me hooked. I didn't try to figure things out for myself. I just sat back and let the story hold me, and boy, did it ever. There were so many levels to this that all fitted together perfectly in ways that might not be immediately clear. In fact, I think I may be a little afraid of this author if she ever decides to go 'dark!' 😆
This book was a very emotional read for me, with situations and circumstances so incredibly well written, I felt it like a punch to the throat. I was f'ugly crying more than once, while still trying to convince myself that I'd get my HEA.
There's so much to this book that I absolutely adored and have no hesitation in HIGHLY RECOMMENDING. Seriously, get your copy and lose yourself in this steamy, supernatural romance.

This was one of those books that make you have ALL the feels… and one that will stay with me for a long time. I absolutely loved the storyline and the characters. I cried several times while reading this, and I hope you enjoy the book just as much as I did.
Ellie creates fantasy romance video games which is a first in this field… and while trying to work on the second game, she is involved in a biking accident after getting hit by a car. She is working on getting her life back together when a man mysteriously starts showing up in her house, except the man doesn’t remember much of anything – not even his name. While spending more time together, she realizes that no one else can see him and she decides to help him figure out how to put him to rest (thinking he’s a ghost). Whilst this is going on, her dad and best friend are pushing her to sell her company which she does not want to do and it starts causing strain between those relationships.
There is something going on especially when she starts realizing that things aren’t adding up, and when Josh finally starts remembering certain things and that he was also part of the accident, they realize just how they are connected.
I’m not going to spoil the story – so I really hope that you read this and enjoy it just as much as I did. It has an AMAZING Happily Ever After!
This story had dreamlike quality. Ellie came back home from a long hospital stay. She had been in an accident. Soon after, Josh started haunting her. All he knew was her. He couldn’t remember his past. And, just like other authors are able to create glittery vampires, our author created a ghost able to become solid. But, only for Ellie. Every moment they were together had a quiet loveliness to it. Even their spicy moments were lovely. But, Ellie had a lot of things to worry about. Bad things kept happening to her. Josh’s ghost wanted to protect Ellie any way possible.
I figured out most of the plot in the first couple chapters. However, I was curious to find out how her “accident” came about and how her mystery ghost was able to keep coming back to her. The answers were very creative. I really enjoyed how the author resolved all the twisted, tangled mysteries. The HEA epilogue was really fun.
Highly recommend this dreamy ghost story.

This is such a magical book. “Please, don’t leave me.” How can four little words have such an impact? It’s hard to go into too much detail about this story without spoiling the plot, but I was already in love with the enchanted cottage setting before things had even begun. The story is a wonderful combination of romance and suspense that all revolves around Ellie, the female lead. I loved her personality, which was both vulnerable and fearless. Josh is a mystery when he and Ellie meet, with no memory of his past or explanation for how he got into Ellie’s house. Perhaps it’s his air of familiarity that stops Ellie from running in fear. While Ellie offers to help Josh discover who he is, events conspire to drawn them even closer together, despite the sense that their relationship cannot last. I wasn’t terribly surprised at the revelations behind Ellie’s accident, though I was shocked at how far a person could be manipulated by devious man, which ultimately leads to a dramatic conclusion. “And deep inside him, somewhere buried, he’d dreamed of someone to care for him like this. Someone who he could stand beside and trust that they would face the monsters hiding in the darkness together.”
I don’t think I’ve ever read a book like this and in a good way. I felt like I was reading so many genres at once! This is a thriller, mystery, supernatural, friendship fiction, magical, love story. The author keeps you on your toes as you navigate what happened to Ellie, how the accident occurred and who/why this mysterious ghost man is that magically appears in her house. As we went on this journey the book nerd in me also got excited every time the author threw in nods to some of my favorite books and shows; like Stranger Things and Hunger Games to name a couple. This is a story that is new, exciting, steamy and is definitely worth your time. I haven’t read any of her other stories, but I’ll be checking them out now.

If you know me, you know that any ghost romance is an insta-read.
This one is a sweet, ethereal story of a love that overcomes all obstacles. Ellie and Josh were drawn to each other from very early on, and then the latter half of the story focused more on the mystery and thriller elements of the tale, which was a bit of a surprise but not a wholly unwelcome one. I prefer my romances to be a bit slower burn, but I was still charmed by Ellie and Josh's dynamic—two lonely people connected by fate. There are interesting twists and turns interspersed with romantic moments of intimacy, so if you're looking for that kind of balance then this is definitely a worthwhile read.
Disclaimer: I received a free copy of this book through BookSirens in exchange for my honest review.
I’m speechless. This novel is too good to be true. I thought this was going to be the usual contemporary romance… yadah yadah yadah..HEA. But no, the author has you intrigued at the outset. Why is Ellie unable to drive her car? Why is her best friend and business partner, Victoria, trying to get Ellie to sell her gaming company? If panic attacks don’t cause hallucinations, then why is she seeing a nameless guy in her mirror at home? Why does this phantasm look so familiar? As you read each successive chapter, the mysteries start to unravel and the jumbled clues form a more cohesive picture. I will offer no more information, other than, the author merits kudos for her appealing characters, intriguing storyline, and her magical yet realistic romance. Read this fabulous story, because it truly is FAB-U-LOUS!! And I bought it. Yeah. ✨✨✨✨✨ I received an ARC from the author and I am leaving an unbiased review voluntarily.
No spoilers. I received an ARC copy of this book. I personally loved Jennie Lynn Roberts' Hawks' series.
I was intrigued by the book's paranormal description and plot. But the book fell flat for me. I found myself skimming alot to get to the reveal of what was really going on.
I can't explain it, other than I didn't feel a connection to the heroine. She's recovering from an accident. Has anxiety and doesn't leave her home much. It felt like her relationship with the hero moved kind of fast. For how much anxiety and panic attacks she had it was odd she wouldn't be more put off by his presence.
Anyway the story is fully laid out and wraps up nicely, no cliffhangers. Several sexy scenes if you're into the concept of paranormal beings having sex.
My one and only highlight: "Don't look at me like that." "Like what?" "Like you can't decide whether to walk away."
The concept of A Thousand Glittering Lights caught my interest immediately. It is an interesting take on a contemporary romance with a supernatural twist. However, while I enjoyed the premise, I was left wanting more in regard to character development. Some aspects of Ellie and Josh’s journey and their connection seemed rushed and unrealistic. I also felt the main plot was on the predictable side. I think this book just wasn’t for me personally as I have liked other books by Jennie Lynn Roberts. If there were a little more character development early on in the book, this would have gotten a higher score from me. I really enjoyed this one!! I liked the concept of an in between. Like astral projecting almost. It made it paranormal while also leaving room open for an HEA. I also liked that the story wasn’t really elaborate, which made it cozy in a way. It was a paranormal mystery; is he a ghost? Once that’s answered, why is he linked to her? Then once they find that out as he starts to remember things, events begin to unfold and the past becomes clear. Also good representation of a toxic relationship (her friend) and how easy it is to not realize you’re being manipulated! Too many people go through it. Good friends are important.
Thank you Storygram and @jennielynnroberts_author for having me on the tour!!
Have you ever wondered if some chance meetings actually could be “more”? As this story unfolded, it seemed that there were some powerful forces that tethered Josh to Emily amidst so much turmoil. I really enjoyed the how this story progressed - from being a casual read to one I just could not put down! The supernatural aspects were just so fascinating, and makes me think about fate/karma. Sometimes one must just accept things as they are perceived because there is just so much about existence that we simply do not know/understand. As the story was resolved , many details were addressed with a very satisfying HEA.

This book was immediately engaging and I loved how the intensity of the plot continued to grow as the book went on. I was immediately caught up in Ellie and her ghost's situation. I really loved how the situation unfolded and the lurking danger was slowly revealed even as all the feelings are taking hold and Ellie is discovering what she really wants and fighting for it.
I also really enjoyed the "ghost" angle this took! It wasn't at all what I initially expected, but I absolutely loved it because it made the HEA possible.
Could some of the ghostiness been more useful in a certain scene at the end? Sure. Did I hope to see a certain character soil his britches in same said scene? Yep. And while that didn't happen, I still think this was overall a great story with a lovely outcome.
There were so many swoony and steamy moments all the goings on, too!
If you're looking for some light suspense and a romantic sort of haunting, then do check this book out!
This was an amazing read. It had everything from friendship, love, steam, plus a huge touch of danger. Ellie and Josh met when they were involved in a hit and run accident while cycling. She thought he was a ghost when he appeared at her house. They became friends, then lovers while trying to find out who he was. They were also trying to solve who hit them and other dangerous things that happened around Ellie. They get their HEA. I recommend this book to all paranormal romance readers.

This story was delightful! This is a contemporary paranormal romance with a good mystery core. FMC Ellie is still recovering from a terrible accident, and MMC Jon is... well she's not quite sure what he is! 😆 A ghost haunting her? A lost spirit that's stuck to her? Or just a really *really* good, trauma response hallucination? The story is unique and engaging. The writing is quite lovely, well balanced between authentic and poetic. The romance is sweet and swoony, and spice was very good, romantic and explicit, it matched the tone of the story perfectly. -- 4.5 🌟 if I could give it!
I was pleasantly surprised by this book. It had a fun twist to it that while I did think I had it figured out I still was surprised by it. I definitely was not expecting some of the aspects in the book. I loved the supernatural elements of the book and the development of the love story. Definitely worth the read.

A Thousand Glittering Lights is a spicy paranormal romance with a touch of goth, drama, family and danger! I really enjoyed Ellie! She is driven, intriguing and very confident in who she is! There is a lot of heat between Ellie and Josh but I truly liked the connection and bond between them. This is one of those books that will have you feeling so many different emotions and when all of the twists and turns come together you end up with a very satisfying read! This was a wonderful story!
Ellie is in a horrible accident just as she is about to release the anticipated sequel to her romance centered video game. As she heals she must rely on her best friend to help run her company.
One day, a mysterious man shows up in Ellie’s house! She truly can’t understand what is going on because one minute he’s there and the next, gone!💨
Is this a haunting or maybe a hallucination? Can Ellie help the mystery man figure out what’s going on or will the mystery man end up helping Ellie?
At first I wasn’t sure if this was a dream, head trauma or truly paranormal but when I just sat back and enjoyed the book, everything fell into place as the mystery unfolded!🚲
I wanted so much for these characters to find each other. Like I was going to be upset if I didn’t get a HEA, that’s how invested I was reading this! This book gave me all the feels and more.💗
Thank you to the author, Jennie Lynn Roberts, and BookSirens, for the opportunity to read this book. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
It was okay. I enjoyed the ghost twist but kind of disappointed at how obvious the villains were. Also, hate how all the blame fell to a single person and the other people were seen as "victims" when they were fully grown adults who made terrible choices. Fmc was such a soft touch that she just had to see the best in everyone else and save them but they absolutely deserved jail time, too.

It took me a while to get in the story. Not because the story wasn't good, but more because it took a bit of time to get to a point sometimes. That being said: at the end of the book I was happy I pushed through.
I think it could've had a couple chapters less, a bit more pace. But I really do love the end!

It was a little hard to get into and slightly confusing at times at first but I did end up enjoying the story after I read further into it. Sometimes it was a bit too obvious in terms of plot but I did like the supernatural element.
Great book! Unique and original storyline. I was hooked from the beginning. Will definitely be reading more by this author. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
